I particularly liked where a small piece of the old USS North Carolina was 'donated' to the new vessel to continue the service of those veterans into a new era. Congratulations fm Russian submariners. Control room looks comfortable and hi tecs. Torpedo tubes looks stainless steel. Buoyancy margin less than Russian subs. Good floating..
At approximately 5:25 when in the torpedo room or maybe I.T room a flag had been hung very strategically to possibly hide some secret tech, however it appeared that a mirror was behind the officer being interviewed, and if not a mirror it would have been a window, and as we all know, a window on a submarine is as dangerous as it can be, some idiot might open it. Nonetheless if it was a mirror the editors and those responsible for approving broadcast of this documentary didn’t quite get it right. As for the submarine being like on the surface of the moon, I am pretty sure it’s not, more like being in a sardine tin, but without the tomato sauce. All joking aside the submariner is a rare breed, from inception to today it must be a very mentally tough, physically fit and intelligent person to volunteer for these duties, I am glad that I didn’t join the Royal Navy, I get sea sick on a ferry boat, no the blue blue sky is where I always wanted to be, I didn’t quite make the grade for pilot, but I did get to fly with some of the finest pilots the world has to offer. Thanks for sharing this interesting and informative documentary, a very nice, if brief, look at the history of the name and how the submarine works. 👍.
These submariners are incredible. The enlisted men on these boats are super human. Try doing a precise job day in, day out, for months at at time... I dare you.
all of the electronics are housed inside the pressure hull with the crew, there are hydrophones mounted externally that they listen to other ships with, and transducers that make the active sonar "pings" like in movies, however that is rarely used because it gives away your location....most of the time they just try to be as quiet as possible and listen

hms elizabeth is state of the art aircraft carrierjue to be commisoned 2020
With such tight conditions, do the submarine service have strategies to moderate a *_potential virus crisis_*
(i.e., COVID-19)?
These submariners are incredible. The enlisted men on these boats are super human. Try doing a precise job day in, day out, for months at at time... I dare you.
From a battleship to a submarine
So today a submarine is a ship and a aircraft carrier is a boat. Things have chenged since I was in. 1985-89 USS Constellation CV-64
Carriers and battle wagons are still ships, and subs are still boats.
This reporter looks like he played football!! Btw, they list the "official" dive depth @800ft! I'm sure it's significantly more than that!
receiving his dolphins...with scales...
NC State..sub..michael Jordan would love it
Whinnie and Moo, Tamuning, Guam. Submariners, and Veterans who were stationed on Guam, you know what I mean. ;-)

Hallways, steps? You must have meant passageways, ladder wells.

Howl 'bout that Wolfpack!
Check for shartz!
When sub Dive how the bridge equipment stay working?
all of the electronics are housed inside the pressure hull with the crew, there are hydrophones mounted externally that they listen to other ships with, and transducers that make the active sonar "pings" like in movies, however that is rarely used because it gives away your location....most of the time they just try to be as quiet as possible and listen
They can call it the North Carolina. Just don't ever call it "Showboat!"
You gotta admit that's a great nickname.
How about calling her "Deep Diver"?
Hertel must have made the Board for CMDR. already.
