Interesting. There is some NAV depreciation since inception but looking at the weekly distribution it looks good. I've just bought the dip in Amazon stock, aiming to expand my portfolio this year.
Great video, could you please clarify the QDTE distribution. If I currently have for example 1000 shares do I get paid the .56 cents that was declared for this week ? 1000x.56=560 dollars ?
For funds like these if kept in a cash account in Canada you’ve probably answered this question before but what are the tax implications? For someone looking for income is it just better to only invest in an rrsp with these?
That was great! Adriano, can you do a video or if you've done one before (an updated video) of how the income generated from covered call ETF can continue for a long time? despite the nav potentially going down ( in certain ETFs) thus causing the fund mangers to call for a reverse split and decreasing potential dividend per share over time? I believe in retiring early and I do believe that this is a good vehicle to do it. However I feel like I am missing something of how the "money will run out".
Thank you for the video. I am gathering information regarding passive income investing since I am semi-retired, my focus is on receiving income to supplement my social security and annuity income rider. Thanks again for your videos. Very informative and understandable to the average Joe. Keep up the great work✌✌
Another good informative video, thanks! Would like to have him give a Yes or No answer when you asked the important question regarding if they will dip onto the investments from us, pay us with or own money, or payijg the dividends only from the Option premiums. What was your take away on the answer? Just didn't seem clear. Look forward to your thought!
Thanks, Adriano. You had a really good discussion with Dave; he didn't hesitate to answer any of your questions. Personally, I hold YBTC. I'm keeping an eye on the ODTE products, and once there is a bit more maturity and history, I will be able to decide between these two products.
Good interview! I think NAV will do the same as Defiance long term as they play the same game, and the weekly distributions are not only compounding positively on the investor side, but negatively on the ETF NAV side
Very helpful interview. I plan to start an initial position in XDTE for monitoring and learning purposes. Since inception, there is a slight NAV erosion while the S&P 500 has had a slight NAV increase. On a total return basis it's positive but ~50 basis points lower than the S&P500. 100% of returns are ROC, so tax efficient. All in all, worth evaluating further in my view.
I sold my QDTE and XDTE because the dividends were too inconsistent, I believe QDTE paid like .40 one week and dropped to .09 the next week. It looks like distributions got bigger again so I'll keep an eye on them because weekly payouts are perfect for everyone.
In the end how I see it, is that even though they pay every week.... It's best to gauge it every month. So what did you earn for the month would be better in knowing whether it's consistent or not. I personally wouldn't rely on these weekly. But monthly.
@Qpalzmcreehay I only had a few shares and wanted to get rid of something that was paying smaller dividends. I agree with gauging by the month that's a better way. Thanks for the reply
@luxuryqueen42 Weekly would be better if the fund is managed right. I have ETFs paying out on different weeks during the month, so I'm already getting weekly payouts. So Monthly does the job!
1) During day your upside is capped by the soled call, so if you get exercised then you don't have Long exposure unless you get back in a long position, also you wont be able to purchase another 100 stocks because price has gone up! , and then you have overnight downside risk,, 2) You did not answer what OTM you sell? It has the entire COvered Call writing risk .. so how are you diff than anybody else? NAV can go down down down
If you chart Qdte divided by qqq, you will notice the ratio is declining meaning Qdte is deteriorating. The payout doesn’t count appreciation on fund (Qqq) itself.
Good video. I hope these weekly etfs stick around since TGIF and WLKY didn't. I love the weekly dividends and would be cool if they were staggered so it could cover every day of the week.
Accidentally hit the “down thumb”. It would be GREAT to have a WEEKlY payout for every weekday for a daily payday !!!! Hope someone, with the wherewithal to do that, sees this !!!!
@@archer_uk Depending how you set your portfolio up it could be possible to get dividends once per week, twice per week or maybe even up to 5 times per week
Do they hold underlying stock or just like ymax,my english not so good . Tried to watch whole video. Would u describe this etf more like qqqi or yield max?
@investinggrind we had a bad month in the markets so we down on nav but the whole market was down but we did get some nice weekly income , so far xdte is holding up better and is close to matching qdte on distributions so I'd rather recommend that one for people more concerned with nav . I'll give them a year buying more on ex div day to average down and see how that goes with total return
It will be interesting to see if the lower overall distribution allows for lower Nav reduction. I would say the initial nav reduction is from the downward movement of the underlying. I will own both QQQY and QDTE and compare their performance this year. So far so am enjoying the weekly deposit into my account.
I think they leanred there lesson 3 weeks ago when the numbers came out. 2 cents and 9 cents I think that spooked a lot of people. But i would rather have lower Maybe 10 to 15 cents Then 25 cents but most of it ROC and share price goes lower
High expense ratio but more work is required, the question: is it worth it? I'll be keeping an eye on these, thanks for enlightening us with insightful Q&A!
It would be good to do an update video and ask Dave about Roundhill’s filings for the Russell 2000 covered call etf and the managed distribution ETFs. It would be good to ask about the four income ETFs as well that they filed for but I believe withdrew from. The short strangle ones on the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 sounded pretty good, so it would be good to know why they withdrew from them or if they still plan to do them. Also, a gold covered call etf would be very attractive I think as well since gold has a great track record so far, and I would like to know if they plan to do a gold covered call etf and why or why not.
Nice interview video Adrian! I love that you always ask the fund managers the tough questions. This give me a chance to observe how they respond before making a decision on whether or not I should put my hard-earned money into the fund. Weekly distribution is nice, even though the yield is not stable. It could be a nice secondary position for any covered call portfolio. If I add on Monday, then I will get paid by Friday.
I understand the performance can not be guaranteed but I would like to if it’s ratio with qqq or spy can be guaranteed. Since may qqq has increased about 17 percent but Qdte has increased by 10 percent. The payout has reduced the gap but not to a significant. I can do better by buying qqq spend about 2% a month out of it.
And their strategy seems to be working. The nav hasn't dipped much as of August 2024. Up an down by 3-4 Dollars but fairly sideways. It looks optimistic.
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting yes 15% income tax is deducted in TFSA, but don’t the Canadian listed funds that holds US equities and generate distributions are also paying the same 15% income taxes at the source so, at the end retail investors level, it’s the same net results ?
Thanks for doing these interviews. That said, this guy doesn't seem to confident of his product. So thanks, but no thanks for me... I want more stable NAV (vs NAV erosion)..
Generally speaking, CC / covered puts ETFs are kindo cra/p. Somebody needs to create true CC/CPs . Ones that actively considers market trends, charting and algorithmic analysis
I really like hearing these managers get a chance to explain their stocks. Gives me more information to consider when buying
yup! that is the point of these . thanks for the feedback
Definitely increasing my XDTE after this video

The same here, last weekend My portfolio made it to 20m$ total, started from 1m$, investing weekly dividends in long term ETFS that’s my route.
Are you a pro? how did you achieve this
No I'm not, Katherine Elizabeth Humphreys is behind my growth, look her up or make proper research for one who is suitable with your goals.

Zero DTE or weekly , the basic strategy is Covered call writing ,so NAV erosion is huge risk is it not

For QDTE and XDTE how are the weekly distribution payouts reported to IRS?? As dividend or capital gain?
info on their website
I checked. It doesn’t specify distribution type... Says 100% Return of Cap, which cant be correct

.95% exp ratio for a fund manager that has performed -->Total Return: almost -6% in 2 months so -36% annual return.
Thank you Adrian❤
Is there a Canadian equivalent? Can I hold XDTE in a TFSA???
I think you can, but you’ll have -15% taxe withholding vs 0% in RRSP

it is like someone hold the 0 day option and seek some victims to buy it. So they are now called investors
