that's probably because there is not 1 subaru part in that car. The base car is one of the worst car rally scene has seen. That's pretty unanimous verdict by all engineers and drivers that had anything to do with it.
Alex Buncombe is amazing. To set a lap time like he did in a car considerably slower than the Pikes Peak cars and some of the other cars is incredible. What a guy!
I remember watching the "In Car" footage of Rod Millen taking that Celica up Pikes Peak some years ago and I remember thinking then "Damn...That car is video game fast". Haven't seen it again for years....Watched it just now...Still video game fast after all these years :)
YES ! thanks to all. but just one thing....TELL or let the announcers know less talk. MORE ENGINE NOISE....!!!! BBRRRRAAAAAAAAP! PP!! BRAAAAP!! P! BRAAP !!! but good show.....
Symmetrical All Wheel Drive Outguns Mr Bean's Mini Cooper on Steroids and even Godzilla which wasn't particularly surprisingly because it had only rear wheel drive. And to have a Celica beat all those Formula one cars. That must be the biggest upset of the decade..."Hair dresser's car beats Formula One cars at Festival of Speed."
not really.. you're comparing times of cars build for a track vs a car built for hill climb on someone's bumpy driveway. not at all the surface formula cars were meant to run on.. while it's certainly impressive it's not that uncommon for the formula cars to get beat at goodwood.
I struggle to identify the number roads or long drive ways in the world where they are silky smooth for the average Joe Bloggs to drive his F1 or Rally car on. With the different degrees of suspension mods, aero kits and the greater amount of money pumped into F1, I wouldn't expect performance to be worst than your heavily modified road car, given that many enthusiasts out there would argue F1 is the pinnacle of Motorsport. It simply defies logic if you were a bean counter.
H0LDENSUX okay well.. you must not really be a fan of motorsports if you don't think that F1 is in fact the pinnacle of? and I don't really follow you on the whole driveway thing but goodwood is in fact someone's driveway and it clearly isn't silky smooth.. add in the fact that those F1 cars are old technology and that these "heavily modified" road cars are current tech. it's still not that surprising.
Driveways resemble everyday road surfaces. Formula 1 circuits clearly don't. Why those F1 cars can't be configured to these less than ideal surfaces should not relate to the obsolete nature of these cars. It would have been technically possible to overcome these old technology constraints by demonstrating use of modern day tyre warmers to improve grip rather than go out on cold tyres to gain an advantage.
Vichet Kim plus we have to remember that most of these old formula1 machines are privately owned now. they don't have the means nor the resources (pit crew) to do individual setups on a track per track or in this case.. driveway basis.
Thank you lads for putting this up!
That Subaru is so planted it's crazy!
Shaun Dewey Almost unreal, but they mini is insane too. Accelerated faster than almost every car there!!
that's probably because there is not 1 subaru part in that car. The base car is one of the worst car rally scene has seen. That's pretty unanimous verdict by all engineers and drivers that had anything to do with it.
Rod Millen is a mean driver, love that Celica

How long does this event last/lasted? Like.. how many days?
lol did anyone notice that the nismo gt3 time stopped at first at 47.17 and then the frame jumped to 47.37
Ty Bailey yea ? weird
lol i was just making sure it wasnt me
Ty Bailey no, my eyes were full focused on the winner, repeating that part over and over... the subaru.
i mean if the gtr had as much power and was as light as the subaru it would have too
+Ty Bailey same thing in first one 47.09 to 47.26
Ollie Clark, what a driver, awesome car! His dad Roger would have been so proud and highly amused that it beat all the single seaters!
Subaru did it again, nurburgring 24h was a success as well. Well done, nice to see the gobstopper at work once again!
Can Am cars are just ridiculous! lol

Is that CELICA a 3SGTE ?
I am thinking 47.00 for the Nismo GTR. Not 47.37, but it's not my clock.
Producers - dash cam 240p is not as good as proper filming outside the car FFS!
Go Subaru!!!

Knowing that right under 40 has been done is crazy...!!

Justin Ramos good for you. Try having the balls to do it in reality with the risk.
