  • Today I’m covering Day of the Tentacle Remastered! Day of the Tentacle is my favorite Lucasarts adventure game originally released in 1993 and I have beat it more times than I can count. It was an important part of my young gaming life and I love it so much. This Remaster is awesome!

LOL Never expected to see Jar Jar HAHA! And I think it's pretty cool you get 2 games for 1 with this particular game. When they throw that in there, it's always nice

DOTT is also one of my fav LucasArts adventure games....but, Full Throttle is my def No1.
Dig was also excellent! Maybe they will remake that one too.

+Majmun X Full Throttle definitely rocks - Dig was an unprecedented quality Sci-Fi adventure - I somehow doubt we'll see a new version of that. I recommend picking up the DOTT remaster if you love DOTT - I want to support these kind of things!

I haven't thought about this game in a while. Great review.

I always felt left out because I couldn't afford a pc then. Though 16 bit games were good, they still lacked the depth of games like this. And text heavy games were often poorly localized and lack the humor and charm of games like this. I also like how the graphics and animation are done well but still look limited in some way! Great game and great review! Keep it up!

+Gaijillionaire Thanks - I was definitely blessed my father had a PC in our home as a young age - Not a lot of people around me had them until much later

For me, I asked my mom for an Apple II in 1987 and the answer was "they cost $2000 and don't do anything!" oh well!

I wouldn't say DOTT is my most favourite Lucasarts adventure, but it's up there. A little short maybe. But the topic "favourite LA adventure" is always good for a fight :-).
Still... never forget "Grim Fandango". That's one of the most underrated games this dreary planet has ever seen, and it's my favourite by far, followed by Monkey Island 2.

To my great shame...I still need to do Grim Fandango....I've had the original copy for years someone gave me because they freaked out I didn't play it. I got the remaster on PS4...so don't have the best excuse! =(

+Game Galaxy I don't know what they did with the remaster, so I can't vote on that. The original is brilliant in so many ways. By far THE best storyline of any LA adventure, great characters, outstanding soundtrack. In those days, when 3-D was still looking kinda awkward, they made an excellent move by chosing skeletons as characters. Not so much to animate :-).
People hated the game back in the days solely because of the controls, which are similar to those in Monkey Island 4. All I can say is: you get used to them in a matter of minutes and they work perfectly.
