The "Avengers: Endgame" of its day, starring....The Baxter Building!!! LOL!!! As one of the greatest FF fans, I love this very skilling re-telling and merging of Fantastic Four Annual No. 3 and FF, vol. 1 No. 6 without those then-Hanna-Barbera licensed characters. (I love the attempt to color over the "4" at 0:10:41!) The idea of bringing forth from Annual 3's background the X-Men, the group's very first animated appearance, was an act of genius!!!! (And how nice of Hawkeye, an Avengers staple of the Cap animated series, to do double-duty with this uncanny team!) I love how, from the animation companies' perspectives, the villains are clearly not as important as the heroes: when appearing in the 1967 FF cartoon, Namor is renamed Triton (but Lady Dorma is not!), but Doctor Doom is Doom everywhere and anywhere! LOL!!!
This cartoon is like opening a time capsule. It goes to show how popular these Marvel characters were from almost the beginning, since they were created only a few years prior to these cartoons.
Krantz Studios could not legally use the Fantastic Four who are under contract with Hanna Barbera. The building in this story was supposed to be Baxter Building where the F4 works. Submariner even had an ANALOG version of himself in the HB F4 series. Both Atuma and Dr.Doom were allowed to be used in the Krantz and HB shows . The X Men substituted for the FF4 in the Submariner episode.
suprised they would substitue ff4 out for xmen at that time up till the 70s ff4 was the most popular team over xmen or avengers it wasn't until the 80s that xmen blew up.
This was an epic episode!
I WISHED THEY WOULD SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD MAKES THIS INTO A THREE HOURS MOVIE !!! WENT THEY BRING NAMOR TO LIFE
2:12-The original X Men. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel, and Iceman.
