This documentary humbled me as a human being. What we take for granted in North America is sickening. I admire the resilience of the Siberian People. The Toughest people on the planet. Much Love from Canada. God Bless you folks in Siberia.
One of my favorite documentaries to ever watch. I love these people and the integrity of they're lifestyle. Absolutely wonderful job! If we were all more like these honest, hard working people, how much more would we appreciate all that we do have.
To the makers of this series of documentaries about life in the Taiga, I say this....YOU HAVE MADE SOMETHING WONDERFUL, AND HAVE DONE Justice to these amazing people....
I have probably watched all 4 (seasons) at least 20x.. Winter probably 40... I watch an I'm instantly transported to life in the natural world. I savor every moment.
I was home from work sick today, I'm glad I found this gift to the world to watch. I dream of living such a life, but legalities in the US prohibit most things vital to survival. Thank you for this production.
Sad but true. To bad they stopped allowing us to live this way in the US or Alaska.. they stopped one from claiming land in Alaska to live such way in 1980..
This should be compulsory viewing in every primary school on up throughout the world. Because it is the harshest climate of all to survive in these good folks command much respect. Of course these folks are not the only ones to live in harmony with nature and benefit from her fruits and all those folks throughout the world who live by the same ethos deserve respect and all should learn from them. It shows that we can never lose touch with nature as we most certainly will lose touch with our purpose in life and become aimless souls.
You can tell these folks are grounded and how small their egos are by the way each of them looks into the camera (or the lack thereof), by how comfortable they are with themselves, with life, within their version of reality. Truly they are Happy People.
@ min. 40:27 That dog is beyond any words!!! He definitely is a superb, and very devoted being / animal. Unbelievable! Stunning! He is running more than 100 miles behind the snowmobile, following his owner... Hats off to that dog!
It is very humbling to see how these people endure the hardships that are a big part of living so far from more settled areas that are warmer and have more resources to make one's life a little easier. We in the modern Western World complain if our Television is disrupted, or the Internet goes out or the food we ate at the restaurant is not what we expected and our smart phone does not work right. These people seem just as happy and content or more so than we, there expectations are part of the hard life they live.
Wowww what a documentary!! All four parts, the escens of what life should be like, there isn't a feeling more beautiful than the feeling of earning all that you have with your honest own hands!
True life... so many truths about man, nature and "just the bare necessities if life"... grandiose. The best documentary I have seen in years... A universe away from Hollywood

Thanks for put this Happy People series on UA-cam. This is without doubt one of the finest documentaries I have ever watched. These folks are an inspiration for any culture..
I love this series. Thank you for posting it. It helps me realize that happiness is not the stuff we have, it is the life we lead and the family we have. It has changed my perspective. Thank you.

I used to live in the arctic circle in northern Canada. It is amazing how similar life is in Siberia, right down to the species of fish and landscape. These are some tough people. Nice to see they have most of their traditions intact and make most if not everything they need. Excellent documentary.
