Have seen a few demos of this, but yours has swung it for me. The presets are the selling point for me. Good to see you using both Guitar and Bass, that sound for AIC Would was outstanding.
Thanks mate, glad you found it useful! Yea the bass presets are amazing. Loads of tweakability if you do want to customise or create your own but there's plenty in the factory settings to keep you busy for a while!
Great demo, mate! Your versatile playing showcases the versatility of the thing! And any demo involving Muse is great!
Thanks so much mate glad you enjoyed it!
I got it and love it!!! The Ampero is like having an entire pedal board that fits in the pocket of my gig bag.
Great to hear! It’s a fantastic piece of kit 🤘😊
I got this pedal coming in today... looking forward to playing with it!
nice have fun mate, cracking little pedal!
Your repertoire as a guitar player is enviable. Great job on this demo.
Personally, I love this piece of kit, I'm upgrading from my budget NUX MG300 to this, the tones are organic sounding and the presets are totally to my taste.
@@iemon7722 thanks mate! It’s a great piece of kit 🤘😊
Amazing demo man! Your playing is awesome which highlighted the capabilities of this pedal. Would love to see you playing through a Fractal unit (FM3 / axefx etc) if you ever get a chance.
Thanks so much!
I'm thinking about a Hotone Soul Press ii. These guys can make neat and affordable stuff.
The Soul Press is a great mini Wah, Volume Exp pedal. I usually use the wah, and it's a lot better than the Dunlop mininwah! It sounds like a REAL Vox wah or Crybaby, good threshold for its seemingly small size!
@@taurushamilton2739 Yeah, it seems to have more tonal options. I used to own a Cry Baby Mini, and it was fine, but it wasn't the comfiest, and the tone options were restricted to a three-way switch inside the casing.
Best demo on this one for sure, very selling video in a good way!
@@HannibalX33 thanks glad you found it useful 🤘😊
instant thumbs up for AIC
Would you recommend this pedal only for the fx? I would use my amp for the distortion, but it would be nice to have programmable fx
Hi, great review and playing! Can you assign fx to each button so that you can switch from one to the other quickly? Eg your opening piece had a clean part and one with distortion. Did you switch from one to the other just by pressing one of the foot switches? Wonder whether to buy this or boss gt-01. Many thanks!
thanks! it's been a while since i did this vid, but I don't believe so, the buttons basically switch patches, but you've got a load of spare patches so you could just set one patch without the effect(s) you want and the next one with and toggle between them that way
I'm just looking for something that can over time-based effects. I think I'll pick this one. I already have my drive pedals.
Whammy, Auto Wha ? Is possible?
Nice video 👍 For funky,Reggae....
Cheers! yes there are cry baby/vox style wah effects and there's an expression pedal jack too. Not 100% on auto wah but i think so
Nice review again. I'm thinking about the ampero mini or the Spark Go.
Does the ampero mini DSP allow for x2 delays and x2 reverbs in the same chain in a user defined patch at all? Cheers
Good question will check!
Doesn't look like it, you basically have 9 slots, FX1, FX2, Amp, NR, CAB, EQ, FX3, Delay, Reverb. The FX slots have a range of stuff in them but no Delay/Reverb, so looks like just one delay and one reverb type per chain
@@LetsPlayAll You are a star....Many thanks for that.!
Wonder why they did that
@@waynedoherty7758 I imagine having multiple time based effects running at once takes up a fair bit of processing power. I've only seen dual delay types on much more expensive pedals from memory
Hey man!
Awesome demo! One question. Can ampero mini run two modulation effect at one? So like chorus and vibrato, or, pitch shift and wah?
I hope you can help me, can not find the info anywhere...
Thanks man!
Thanks mate! Ah unfortunately I don’t have the pedal anymore, I tend to donate this type of gear to local students but if memory serves I think you’re limited to certain combos so if you only have chorus and vibrato in one effect grouping then no. But tbh I can’t remember which ones are repeated in other groupings unfortunately- sorry!
Nice work 🤟
Hey! Thanks for the awesome video! 🤘🏼🔥
Quick question… does the Ampero Mini have “Scenes” or something like it? I just need the 3 basic sounds, CLEAN, RHYTHM and LEAD. But I don’t seem to find any information about this yet 🤔
cheers Andy! no "scenes" as such but you can easily set that up you have loads of space for user patches
@@LetsPlayAll Thank you so much for the reply, I appreciate it! 🙏🏼 Sweet, is there any noticeable latency when changing presets?
@@AndySimmonsOfficial good point yea I’d say there is a tiny delay when changing presets, seems to be a thing with the digital multi fx units as a whole
You can do what the Hotone Ampero Mini does with a Spark Go and an ir loader by utilizing a 3.5mm stereo to L/R 1/4" TS cable. Simply run the headphone out from the Spark Go with the 3.5mm to L/R TS 1/4" cable to the effects loop return of an amp and/or direct from IR loader to audio interface.
You can’t turn off cab sim from the Spark Go. So you would have double cab on the signal and sound pretty bad.
@@Haho-aho does it really? Please provide more information on the cab sim you say it has. I haven't seen anywhere where positive grid says there's already a cab sim on the spark GO mini.
@@gnarlantlers70it is ok to use with headphones, studio monitors or an frfr amp just because of the built in cab sim in the headphones out. Without that it would sound just like a raw amp. If you know what that raw sounds like, you will understand. There is a reason they market the spark cab for it. Spark cab is basically just a active frfr speaker. It repeats the signal without making it sound different.
Running a from headphones/line out to a conventional amp input or fx loop retunr will not make the Spark sound as intended because it will add one more cab into the mix. Conventional amp/cab does not have a flat response.
Hope this helps.
Oh. And people still do it and it wont break anything. It will just sound like its coming from a really muffled space. You can even plug in to your home stereo system and it will sound much cleaner. And even stereo 😅
@@Haho-aho it sounds great running into the effects loop return of an amp. It does well into an IR loader and then into an audio interface as well. I don't think there's a cab sim on the spark go. Did you find any info on whether they have a built in cab sim? I looked again but so far I haven't found anything saying that it does have a built in cab sim.
Hi, thanks for you demo. Which one sounds better, this or Nux MG-30 / Amp Academy?
You’re welcome, I haven’t tried either of those but the tones in this are excellent
Can it be set up in a way that some effects in a signal chain can be switched on and off without fuss? Like, during a song where I might want to use delay for a passage then just cut it out? Also, if I want to switch between types of modulation for different songs, is that something the Ampero Mini allows without a bunch of menu diving? Thanks.
Don’t think so mate, may be possible with an external footswitch/expression pedal but there’s loads of spaces for user patches so you could just copy the patch to an adjacent bank, one with the effect on, on with it off and “switch it off/on” by moving between the two presets 🤘
Yes it actually can. If you hold down foot switch on it goes into control mode and will control an effect you have setup. If you add a dual button external switch you can set it up to control FX on and off too
Great demo and sounds really nice. I am looking for something small to practice with headphones and backing tracks. Do you know what the headphone sound quality and volume is like and also with audio on the aux in because other units I have tried similar to this have been pretty lame and also have very low volume.
Headphone quality is great on this one
@@LetsPlayAll Thanks for the reply it is greatly appreciated. A Matcha green one is on route!
@@joolz989 nice! Enjoy mate!
I noticed a lot of strats recently with humbuckers in the bridge.
Any you recommend? Nice video😎
Such a versatile pickup configuration! Any strats I’d recommend or pickups? This one is a suhr custom I picked up second hand so has suhr pups in it which are great but for general rock stuff you can’t got wrong with a bareknuckle mule in the bridge!
This little fella looks promising. What about headphone output quality, is it any good? Currently, I'm using Mooer GE 150 and headphone output isn't that great but I like some of the presets. Do you think it's good idea to make a jump from. Mooer to this little Ampero?
I haven’t tried the mooer tbh so can’t compare but this is a great little unit, I’ve got a demo for the Boss ME-90 tmrw so worth checking out. A little bit more but super easy to use
@@LetsPlayAll Thanks for the information mate. Will check that out.
I'm sold. Was looking for a multi effects unit that wasnt a line6 pod, or an expensive quad cortex.
Update?
Update?
Hi Bro! Delay, Chorus and Reverb stereo or mono? What about playing in headphones, has a stereo panoramic?
Stereo in headphones, sounds great! Can’t remember if this one has stereo outputs but check Hotone website for specs 🤘
@@LetsPlayAll thanks of lot bro!
does the software/editor for Ampero Mini work seamlessly on MacOS? (I am running a MacBook Air M2) TIA :)
Hmm not too sure as I don’t use MacOS, fine on Windows so I’d assume macOS is seamless if it works on windows 😂
I'm actually really curious about this pedal. Sure, I'm actually not really interested in a multi FX pedal, but rather an amp sim. I'd like to try this one and compare it to my Boss IR-200. I've seen a couple of demos, but I still haven't seen a demo in which they're using pedals with it. You know, you set it clean or cleanish, with no additional effects, and then you use your pedalboard, with overdrive, distortion, fuzz, modulation pedals, delays, reverbs... I'm not completely satisfied with the tones I'm getting out of my Boss IR-200, because the EQ feels a little extreme, and there are some mid frequencies in some of the amp models that make it really difficult for me to tweak and be usable. Maybe I should try the Tonex pedal and get some amp captures. But even the Tonex, to me, has its drawbacks, so I'm not sure it can replace my Boss IR-200. If you've got any tips for an amp sim pedal (not the Strymon Irridium or the UA pedals), please enlighten me.
If you’re not after a multi fx pedal then perhaps the two notes cab m is more what you’re looking for?
hi, how to plug in to computer? just plug or still need soundcard? thankyou
best to check manufacturer's website but i think just a USB cable
I actually lost touch with multi effects. Im thinking of going back as I don’t jam in a band anymore. May I ask if I need a boost for solo so I have to change patch then? Thanks.
If playing live with a band then yes, but not for playing along with songs tbh, there's a bunch of inputs and outputs on this one, you can literally just plug your guitar in, headphones out and there's an aux in for playing music from phone/mp3/laptop etc for practising/jamming. Hope that helps!
What are you using for your signal chain ? Just doesn't sound d great thru my EVH 15
Straight into an audio interface, if you're using it into an amp you'll need to turn off the cab sim - i think easiest way is to go into Global settings menu and select "No Cab Model(L)" and (R) and set that to ON. Otherwise you've got a cab emulation going into your amp which won't sound great
Can this be used as a H9? Only effects running? That would be the selling point for me. Already have a iridium for amp /cab simulation 👐🏼
Haven’t used H9 but yes you can turn off the amp/cab sim to use as a stomp box in front of an amp etc
@@LetsPlayAll easy to tap and chance effects? Possible to asign that way?
@@benjaminkoskinen5835 not individual ones in the chain in one patch but easy enough to set different patches next to each other to achieve the same thing
Damn, strata out with my fav band. Alice In Chains.
What song we're you playing in the beginning? Sounds amazing!
“Down In A Hole” Alice In Chains
This or the Mooer Prime P2? Which one do you suggest?
Not tried the mooer, I’d go either this or the sonicake Matribox 2 tbh
But those are the only two similar ish ones I’ve demoed 😊🤘
"Down in a hooolllllee!!!" ❤
I'm only have experience with Line6 POD HD500. Could someone tell me how the amps\cabinets simulation and quality of effect compares with POD? Is it the same, better\much better? I understand that POD quite old already..
Valeton gp 200 our mini ampero ?
Haven’t tried the Valeton so can’t compare unfortunately mate
