Skeuomorphism never went away. It was just style over substance to make everything look childish for a few iterations of iOS, because they needed it to be distinct. When was the last time you saw an Apple product with a cylindrical battery with a pip at one end? (Yeah, now look at how much charge your phone or laptop has. Oops.)

I think we would have had 3 sizes. A mini, a standard and a plus sized. The mini would be basic with some pro features like 120 hz. The standard would have pro features. The plus one would be pro with emphasis on camera and video. Just my take. The Pro laptops need to be made for pros only. It verbalizes every button press, unlike iPhones whose accessibility has waned since Steve Jobs’ departure.

Steve Jobs was like my old webdesign teacher. he would first admire all the fancy things you achieved before he fails you for something stupid like usability(its not stupid but you would not think this a thing that could take you down after you have mastered other much more difficult stuff). funny thing was he clearly said what he wanted to see we learned in the introduction to his class but we under estimated how important it was. one of the best non math teachers i ever had. passing his class made you feel like you really achieved something.
Well to be fair: steve jobs stated that the deal between apple and intel in providing inter processing chip for mac computers would be ten years and he would have actually be proud of the apple M chip. He would like the fact the Apple vision is a combination of mac computer with the Ipad interface, he would like how difficult to use the vr headset.
My experience as someone who used Macs from OSX 10.2 Jaguar to 10.6 Snow Leopard before changing to Win7 at the time is that today's Mac OS doesn't feel much fun to use but it is a lot more stable so I'll give them that. Fewer beach balls of death anyway. To me though coming back to Mac after over a decade, the UI feels a bit soulless.
Steve was great for Apple. But Apple has done well under Tim by most measures. Under Tim, Apple released the Apple watch, the watch has turned to be the one of, if not the most popular, iconic watches on earth. Outperforming all other watch makers. Then you got Apple Silicon which outperformed Intel and AMD in most benchmarks. Apple also has also created a profitable segment with subscriptions services. A product like the iPhone doesn't come around every year, in fact products such as the iPhone could be once every 10-20+ years. I don't think expecting Tim to be Steve is the right approach. Or Apple today to be exactly like Apple of yesterday.

Well I look at the Magic Mouse 2 and think what brain at Apple thought it was a good idea to put a charging port on the bottom, so you can't use it while charging. Or the MB Air with two ports.
