I wish they would just apply the same steps every time. Then, they'd always get the right answer.

Great video so far (in the middle of watching now). At the end of the section for time 10:10, is there any concern for white doing the appropriate tennuki that black can then hane on the right side and turn white’s wall into the center?
Hello, yes good question! Black could indeed do that if the situation and timing was right! As the walls get bigger, the value of turning towards the center goes down, so after a few stones it's up to the players discretion whether the turn is more valuable than a move elsewhere. But those types of turns are super powerful!
love the video and your simple easy to follow examples. just one thing: i dont mind watching commercials for you to generate some income. but this is really too much commercials which pulls away the focus one needs to absorb all the information. perhaps consider about putting in a few less :) thanks for your time and effort in making us all better players x
Thank you! Unfortunately, I can't control how many commercials youtube puts in the video. It's a binary option, and thanks to UA-cam's new practices, they are putting commercials in my videos even if I choose not to monetize. I wish there were less as well 😔

Each 5 minutes 1 or 2 commercials really is allot. Anyway; thanks again for all your content, my girlfriend and i have been following you since the beginning almost 5 years ago. We have seen both you and your channel undergo a wonderfull transformation. If you ever plan to visit the netherlands, know that you will always have a place here to crash, hang out, and crush a few 6 - 9k enthousiastic go players. Take care and stay healthy.
Mostly, two reasons- the frequency of play in the current pro circuit and any new tactics that have appeared. Since alphago, many joseki are not seen anymore due to most players favoring the a.i. sequences. But it would still help to study shape and form of the old josekis 👍

Sorry one more question: what makes a joseki outdated?
