Thanks for this. I find 70-200 2.8 lens is great for church gear when it comes to not getting in the way. And you're right, feedback from photographers or from anyone is a great way to improve. Thanks for the video!
This is great! The worship experience itself is definitely the most important and I love that you talked about easing into it with people you know and also when you asked the lady if you could take a photo! The vulnerable moment comment was gold as well!
Thank you for sharing tips and information. I photograph in my church, and I have the baptism photos taken down. Now doing some new things and the tips was helpful. Thank you also for sharing your kids/youth photo policy, I was just telling my pastor that we need something before photographing the children.
Thanks for showing how to do this with only one prime lens. It helps me to know I don't need a 24-70 70-200 and all the primes just to be prepared for everything! God Bless
This was actually helpful to me. I’m a photographer major. And for the past few months I’ve been doing church photos. But now lol I was running of ideas or thought maybe there’s more that I can do just didn’t know how or what .. so really good video. Very well presented thanks !! Can’t wait for part two !
This was great! Subb'd... I've been the main photographer for a while and have ran into repetitive shots.. This has definitely inspired me to try some new things. Thanks!
@@RossGrantPhotographyi just wanna say that God, Mary and Jesus love you so much! They saved me from cancer (without any tratament just praying) and They are with you❤
RE: Blackmagic Design Micro Studio Camera 4K G2. Which lenses do I buy? Camera's fixed position is 30 feet from the church stage. We want to live stream the stage with a view of 20 feet of the stage.
Hey! I don't have much experience with Blackmagic, but I can say that your best bet when trying out something new is to rent a lens and see how it works before buying! I use lensrentals.com
For that space I like to leave my shutter at 1/250 (as slow as I can get it without motion blur), Apeture wide open at f1.8, and then use ISO to adjust for lighting. If I remember correctly most of the kid's pictures ended up being at 400iso, but you can adjust that based on how much light is in the space :)
Practice! I know that’s maybe not the easiest answer, but as you do it more you’ll gain confidence. I started out in church photography as a volunteer and now I’m a full time wedding photographer, but I am still nervous in new situations. Once you get more used to it the nerves are replaced by knowing you can do succeed 👍
An alternate title: how to shoot a band in an event/conference centre. Like any other band in any other venue. When I typed in 'church photography ' I expected a, you know, church.
Figure out where your good angles are, and time when you move to and from them. I'm not moving in the front of the room during speaking - only during the worship portion. And often I'd end the opening worship set up close, take a few pictures right as the pastor comes on, and then dart to the back of the room for the rest of the preaching. It's been a while since I've worked at a church now, as I've transitioned to full time weddings, but the concepts are the same. Capture the moments while being a minimal distraction

Tell us tips on how we can shoot without using the flash light to avoid disruption
Hey! That's kind of this whole video... I didn't use flash at any point during this
How i wish to do photography but, I don't have cameras
Great video and very helpful. May I ask what camera settings did you use in the kid’s area?

any tips of not being nervous for shooting church photography??

I have a lot of questions
I'm happy to answer them!
Ok...WHERE can I get a canon 5d Markii for under $500??
BH Photo has them for 300-400, and the 50mm lens is around 100

I mean that’s true, and I actually started in event photography. The skills are transferable 🤷♂️
Thankfully you're using regular equipment!
Haha that was the goal! Glad you like it
How do you not get in the way using a 50mm lol

@@RossGrantPhotography oh I was just asking. I use a R6 with a 70-200mm 2.8. lol.
