Love an unhaul! It's such an easy way to feel totally refreshed. I think the only book you should take a second look at is Raybearer, but of course you can always get it from the library and don't need every book you're ever interested in on your shelves (this is something I'm trying to learn)

Really weird suggestion but on the atles six could you swap the dust jacket so you can keep the fancy sprayed edges but still be with the sequels

I hate to be that person, but if you were going to give any book a chance I would suggest Raybearer. I almost unhauled it without reading it and I read the first chapter and was immediately hooked! It was surprising and so good!

I have really gotten into audiobooks lately, especially because I can listen to them anywhere as long as I have my phone. They have really helped me tackle my tbr in a big way. Plus it's great for before bed because you can put it on a timer to play to a point, so you can fall asleep listening.

Congrats for 6 years! I'm recently getting into the world of booktube and I love it so much! There are some books I want to unhaul, but the YA books I loved especially growing up, I don't think I could ever get rid of them.

Ok so hear me out: if you were to just read one from this whole unhaul, it should be Raybearer. I had it in my audible app for like 3 years cause I got it for dirt cheap and kept putting off actually reading it because I don't read YA fantasy anymore, but when I DID finally get to it it was absolutely amazing and I devoured the duology in less than a week. While it does have some themes typical of YA, it's surprisingly mature and relatable, even as an adult!

Honestly The Guinevere Deception is an all time favorite for me, but I don't know how much you'd enjoy it. IT DOES have a queer woman as Lancelot, which I really adored, and the way it retold the Arthurian legend was extremely fun and exciting. I still need to read the third book, but the first two were extremely fun and I'll always remember how much of a good time I had reading them!

This made me feel so much better about the reading slump-ish I’ve been having. I’m turning 27 this year and I’m just not into ya/high school stories. I tried reading one recently by Lynn Painter and I just did not care about any of the people or their problems. I feel bad when I mark a book DNF because the author worked hard on that story and I feel like I’m attacking them personally (anxiety life) but you’re right! There are only so many hours in a day and only so many more years in our lives that we should read books we are excited about!!♥️

i'm 28 and tried to read some of the dystopian YA series i'd binge bought when i was a teen and read a few and then just gave up and gave them away. i realised it was absolutely not my thing anymore and i'd rather have a mc in their twenties or thirties 😊 just got out of a reading slump with pachinko, dust child and the sweetness in my skin (yes that one has a teen mc but it's written so well ❤) i hope you find some books you enjoy soon!!!

I don’t believe she said she doesn’t. I think she’s just half Jewish correctly. She won’t discuss the political aspects because she, and this is guess work, like many Jews wants a good state solution perhaps and people are angry if you say that but from what I read and learned about both in university, it’s the best option for everyone. The British and the Us(as much as they keep their hands clean in the discussion) are the reason Israel exists. They didn’t want the exiled Jews with nowhere to go post war. Well now they are there are there and a “Free Palestine” as it’s really meant means an Arab state where Jews are second class citizens. That’s what the full slogan Free Palestine from sea to sea means. It’s political like she said in the sense imperialists nations start these issues and then further them even(the US is all committing this genocide but were focused on Israel and rightfully so to centralize them, but to not call them some perpetrators or not question where Britain is to mediate now that they’ve created this. I mean a very hyped up Arab American or just very Pro Palestian called for me to leave America and equated me with colonizers. I said first off I’m not white racially. There’s indigenous in my background, and no one knows where we walk go because of slavery. The anti settler colonialism sentiments seem to forget not everyone has a cut and dry place to go back(Jews are still hated in the places they were expelled from in many cases hence even being in Israel), or memories of another home and that if anyone is second class then we’ve just done to Jews what happens to Palestinians before now because this is of course beyond.
I love Palestine but I love Jews, including the Ethiopians in Israel rushed there to escape violence for their religion at home and since they can be traced back to an original tribe(the first complete Bible is Ethiopian) to say they have no roots there is something I’d fight anyone over before I let them be tossed to the wolves or treated further like second class citizens by Arab Muslims. Genocide is bad. There is no excuse for it. I think everyone should be able to say it. But for Jews specifically who don’t, I have some understanding of why and I don’t think it’s because they don’t condemn genocide, they just don’t want to align with people calling them settler colonists who must leave home or be beneath Arabs and sadly a lot of pro Palestine activists have made the causes interchangeable. And when it’s white people from America I honestly spit at it little because how dare there be slavery legally mandated in our laws for the mostly Black imprisoned, oil taking precedence over Native lands/water, no reparations, homeless Native Hawaiians for white developers to make vacations spots, and young adults like me who can still say they know of recent lynching victims- but white Americans wanna tell Jews in Israel where they do and don’t belong?
As if our own country isn’t a refusal to let the the indigenous have control over the land for environmental reasons proven to have life saving potential for the climate and killing Brazilian Indigenous for the meat white people especially refuse to stop forging on knowing we don’t have enough land for all that cow grazing so we cut vital Amazonian forest housing people down?!! It just all seems very hypocritical, I mean I love that we suddenly know genocide is bad. But how many of you are still gonna vote for trump knowing the GOP are staunch supporters of this war and that at least bathe democrats have hesitation but there will be no stopping anything if they have control of Congress and presidency.....but I already see it happening, because we see it with white women and the feminist movement, everyone loved change and revolution until they have to vote to match their words. And how many people not reading Bardugo donate, write letters, and so on? I’ve seen a lot of people using this to be performative and exclusionary against another scared ethnic group rather than being activists. I’d rather push Palestinian authors like Diana Quincy than tell people what Jew I’m no longer reading without regard for what could be causing their hesitation, not to excuse her-making that clear-, but focusing on uplifting Palestinian voices does more good than picking at someone whose mind we can’t get in to see why they’re backing off. Although admittedly I don’t believe in a no politics stance ever but also I know when you’re a certain identity(being marginalized too) it’s scary to say some things because you expect slurs to pop up the moment you speak and not everyone is in the headspace for it. Plus one can criticize her directly and fairly without trying to sank a Jewish author’s career immediately. I like to wait a bit and make fair points to see how they react before I just just go no more this person. Like I don’t read rainbow Rowell because she isn’t Korean and has for years gone out her way to ignore commentary on her depictions of a Korean when brought up to her her in her Instagram(which she comments back on unless you mention that) and yt video commentary explaining
Plus does everyone love Palestine. I mean I know I did because it was already on my radar with it’s beautiful culture and olive trees being burnt and I watched films to understand it’s border. But it’s like....okay some of y’all barely knew it existed and still aren’t trying to learn about it beyond this and enjoy it artists and history. Maybe that doesn’t matter as long as we all know ending genocide is wrong but I take words seriously and hope people really invest in this people because who knows what’s gonna happen in the end. But I do know everyone will have to continue living. Will we say everyone who never posted about Palestine is on a crap list? I haven’t posted it on my direct socials. I don’t need everyone to see what I do. It’s a small private page anyway and I barely post to it. Why is our answer always witch hunts and why do we target marginalized people? Jews are still not white. White passing or half in her case. But they have their own ethnicity, some have more European heritage than others, but they have been treated white and are the group that faces the most hate crimes of any ethnic religion in the US. Why not call people out who perpetuate harm directly and discuss what it means when authors won’t make declarations. Put pressure on them even. But I don’t know if we should go as far as to say to the Jewish author wouldn’t break their personal rule about politics(and it is for them in ways it is isn’t for everyone, I’m sure she knows the genocide part is wrong but it’s like with me, I’m not aligning with everyone that says free Palestine from sea to sea but I’ll say end genocide and Free Palestinians, alone) I just think this is a complex issue not many are well read up on enough and they’re only seeing the genocide but Jews who know what certain things mean and also care about their thousand killed and hostages can’t see it one way because they, from what I’ve seen(even those there’s extremists on both ends) want to be able to acknowledge the harm done to everyone and ask for peace on both sides and I think they can see that many are turning against them rather you all realize it or not. I refuse to do it. I can say genocide is wrong. But I’m not asking for anything but a two state solution, western nations don’t get to make problems and then those left behind suffer. It’s already been done for better or worse. The main argument is Jerusalem. They should be able to have equal rights to it with a passport.

my understanding (and i’m totally willing to be wrong, but i’m struggling to find evidence of most things i’ve heard) is that Leigh is supportive of Palestine. she reportedly posted support in the past. she has since supposedly put out a statement saying she no longer felt safe making direct statements because there had been threats against her and her family (who are jewish). while i understand we all want to think we’d fight for justice even if it cost us our lives or our livelihood, not everyone is going to be willing to do that. i do wish she had felt she could continue to use her platform to speak out, but i do empathize with wanting to protect your family and yourself especially as a woman in the public eye. if my facts are correct, i don’t agree with the stance she has taken because it’s very privileged, but i try to understand that im not in her shoes. im not telling you to support her because that’s totally your call but i do appreciate that she has been vocally supportive in the past unlike some authors. i say all of this just because this is a confusing time for everyone and its becoming increasingly difficult to determine how we spend our time, money, and influence.

There’s nothing wrong with an audiobook. However, listening to an audiobook is just that. Listening. Let’s not conflate listening to an audiobook to reading just so we can be more “inclusive”. there’s nothing wrong with preferring to listen to an audiobook nor is there anything wrong with being unable to read a book due to physical disabilities. There are some things people can’t do that others can and vice versa. But, listening to an audiobook isn’t reading just as driving a car up a mountain isn’t hiking up it. Different people are capable of different things and incapable of others but we start going insane when we pretend these differences don’t exist.

It's not reading as in the action of reading, but it is reading as in taking a story or a notion from a book and understanding it. Reading and listening to stories actually have the same benefits at the end of the day, so it's really just about how you want to consume this piece of media.
