As a life long fishing resident of Wa, I'd like to say that, apart from the necessity of needing to have a lawyer to just understand the regulations and to fish Wa. waters, the crabbing season is is very clearly marked.

$150 fine is not nearly enough. They should have immediately lost their crab pots and whatever other gear they use to illegally catch crab or fish. And the fine should be around a thousand bucks. With a zero tolerance policy. Maybe then people would quit breaking the rules

As a Washington resident, I'd like to go on record and give a big THANK YOU to the men and women of the WFDW for their service. From the officers in the field, to the folks on the administrative side of the house, and those behind the scenes, we as outdoor enthusiasts never meet and are seldom aware of.

Hear hear! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the WDFW we have one of the best managed, most productive fisheries in the world. There aren't many places you can take a ring trap to a public pier and leave with 10 pounds of crab an hour later.
      Thanks, WDFW!

I meet wardens pretty regularly. I've even had my license checked by police. That said, I'm always legit, and always read regs before I head out. I also tend to get out of the crowds and go further down than most people when I can, so it probably looks sus when I'm fishing someplace so far from most other fishermen.

I find it quite fitting that it's an Asian guy on the cover of the video. It's pretty common for Asian people to illegally harvest animals, and WDFW doesn't seem to do much to the Asians that are breaking these laws, wether it's due to language barrier, or it's just to easy to target people from the States that can't pretend they don't speak a word of English. Whatever the reason, more should be done, and not necisarily to only people of asian decent. Targeting the commercial industries and native American people that net rivers, stacking there nets opposite the other every 25 yards or so, not quite breaking the law, but also chosing not to listen to the law as intended, further harming local salmon and steelhead populations. I dare say it's commercial and native American tribes that are really hurting the population more than hook and line/recreational anglers. Idk. Just putting my two cents out there.

Here in Pacific county it's 98% white folks that poach and snag and trap illegally. Just look at the court dockets and the names are smith and jones and on and on.
