bro why only 6db up the eq gain to find resonating frequencies. some peoples use full gain level to find resonant freq hmm what is the exact reason only 6 db please reply brother 1:04
There's no reason for 6 dB. You can do more or less. Thing is if you boost too much of it, every frequency will start sounding harsh and resonant, so the less the better
boosting to try and find resonant frequencies is actually incorrect eqing xD. You are creating a problem that doesn't exist at that db in the first place. try just dipping instead if you hear something.
What you said is true but not exactly. Our ears are not that trained to find resonant frequencies. So boosting frequencies will try to make it stand out. It creates problems when you boost too much of it. For me, 3-5 dB works well, or even less
@@ZapDon777Tutorials but the thing is, you are adding resonance when you boost with a narrow q. this is adding sound that was not there. you basically create a problem, then solve the problem you just created. the frequencies are not resonant until you boost them. if you boost a certain frequency then say oh that sounds bad.. but then reset the eq to default, you will not hear that sound. you created it by boosting.
Yeah that's true but not always does the EQ makes a resonances. Sometimes it also boosts the resonances. Now the thing comes is to use your ears. Try to bypass and see if it makes the sound clearer, or if it makes the sound lose its body.
@@ZapDon777Tutorials right. that's what i'm saying. i am referring to the points at which you find and create these resonances. those were not there to begin with lol. trust me dude it's incorrect eqing. by that same logic, i could boost every single frequency enough so it sounds terrible. then what, cut the entire spectrum until its silence? u see what i mean? always scoop first and then sweep and only IF you hear something not pleasing to the ear. never ever do any of this by default. this is agreed on by pros with decades experience in major industry roles. mathematically it makes sense also. and not every single thing needs eq. you also introduce phase distortion with every eq layer which isnt necessary in most cases. less or nothing is always better in all cases. and youll get a better mix
@@ZapDon777Tutorials that's also what i'm saying. use your ears. don't think u need eq on every single thing. if there are no problems, dont create them. if i had a wall that looked fine when you look at it, but then said i splattered paint in a few arease and said, oh see i have to fix this part now.. it wouldn't make sense if it looked fine to begin with. u feel me?
