This is where Smart Doll used to be made

Today is the 8th anniversary of Smart Doll. Thank you to all who have made this possible!
Eight years ago to this day (13th June 2014), I took a video on the morning we first shipped Smart Doll Mirai.
This video was taken in what used to be our house - but we got evicted by Smart Doll production, which took up so much space that we had to move out into a small apartment nearby.
Challenges back then were of the type I had never faced before - it was tough! I can tell a story about each and every component of Smart Doll down to the very last screw.
But sink or swim - it didn't matter as the main goal was to create a fashion doll that encompassed my ideals - even if nobody bought a Smart Doll - at least I made something I wanted for myself.
To this day, I still follow the same principle - don't make anything I wouldn't want for myself.
I'm selfish and want the best for myself, so I do whatever it takes to attain the quality I seek, even if the extra material and labor costs mean price points higher than what most consumers would be willing to pay - because at the end of the day - I don't want to have made something that I didn't want for myself.
As for the next chapter - I will continue to use Smart Doll as a platform to practice what I preach.
Through our Smart Doll characters, I encourage folks to live their own life instead of the lives of others. You do you - not what others want you to do.
My business advice to any budding entrepreneurs out there:-
If you are aiming to start up a business, know that being successful is not about how much you sell. Being truly successful is not having to sell your soul to make money by letting others govern what you make when you make it and how much you make it for.
