Pretty amazing looking garden
Super gardening!
Beautiful garden and very healthy👍
I'm down here in FL. Got the taters, onions, collards and stuff planted. The potatoes froze back and came back up again. The collards weren't affected at all and the chickens buried almost all of my onions and I can't find them, LOL. I've been doing Back to Eden. They tilled up the mulch and ate half of my collards, all of my tomatoes and some of my broccoli. Replanted some stuff and it's doing great!
Looks great! And you are right crazy Texas weather.
good jon very nice garden
I live in Texas and have always wanted to get into gardening. We just bought a house. It's so hot here I wasn't sure what could be grown and I know nothing we can't afford it yet BUT definitely in the future.thanks!
One of the best gardening videos I've seen so far! thanks
First time gardener and I love it! Beautiful garden btw!
Just started my own garden. Mostly hot peppers and herbs. Also in Texas. Glad to actually see a great garden growing out here. The wife and I just arrived from California.
I'm in Texas as well. It's nice that we're steadily seeing people here become intrested is where their food comes from. Local micro farms are becoming more and more popular.
We have the same story! Also from California, love gardening here even though the heat is painful!
Go back
So much going on in your garden! It is really exciting - the asparagus looks absolutely delicious! Very envious.
Brandon your garden looks great, thnx for sharing
vegetables garden. good tips. thanks!
You have a great garden. I really enjoyed you video. Thanks for sharing
Very nice garden you have. Thanks, I learned some great tips for when I start my garden : ) Thanks again.
Great video ! Thx
Beautiful garden last spring!
What a beautiful garden very nice job!!!!!
When I saw the first shot of your veggie garden, I knew the design was perfect for mine! I'm restoring an 18th century walled garden in England. Its been neglected over past hundred years or so and it's a mass of weeds and decaying trees. It's primary use seems to have been a place to dump trash - I'm unearthing all kinds of broken pottery and glass. Your design fits in very nicely with my idea of how a vegetable garden should look. Thank you very much for all your hard work - it's going to be replicated in Spring over here!
Your garden looks beautiful.
Love this series....WOW
looking good, love it! miss having my own garden since I relocated to MI
Tfs :) love these type of videos
Very nice!!!!I learn a lot!!!!!
Same as this year! cant wait to get everything outside
Wo! I'm in northern IN and it snowed yesterday!!! Just now getting my gardens ready to even plant!
I really enjoyed your video ! I like your production and how everything is set up so nicely and organized! You have inspired me thanks~🙂
Nice garden
Beautiful Garden! We live in CenTex and I couldn't get our onions to grow. Here is the kicker, About a month ago we noticed that our onions from last year was growing. It was crazy to see. I mean who would have thought that onions after a cold winter would start to grow again?!
i enjoy my onions, i am a beginner gardener. Trying onions, broccolis and garlics .... i was late to sow
paris island lettuce you can also use cut & come again. so you get more than one day of salad.
I have another idea to hold down weeds and hold in moisture, use 4-6 in layer of wood chips, the plants will love it, you just have to rake the chips once a year to prevent composting of the wood chips themselves.
Greatgarden wish u a great harvest :)
You can use the onion bulbs(Don't wait until they bloom) and stems for stir fry of any kind...They are edible and delicious!
Looking great. Won't be long before it's time to plant again! Good Luck this year!

first two words.....
mmmmmm yum 😂😂😂👌👌
There's another reason to pick blackberry plants with thorns: They taste much better than the hybrid kinds without thorns.
Oh I live in Dallas Texas and last year I gardened in large pots
Yes, definitely the weeds seeds will blow in. They grow on top of my weed fabric! Crazy!!! Thanks for watching!
i have had good luck, i will upgrade methods soon
you should do straw and soil potato towers and trellis the cucumbers . very very nice garden . may have to post mine sometime :D
Man talk about a brain trip. I heard the birds there and here,(Harker Heights) and I was really confused lmao
The garden looks great!
lol mmm..YUM.. love that lettuce! I am trying Romaine for the first time this year..hope I get some! Your Radiccio looks beautiful!
The onions are really coming along nicely! I was late in getting mine started..now that I moved from Tx to CT, my timing is all off. lol they don't sell sets up here! just stinky little unknown round bulbs. what the heck!
Love the Pea Forest! You can never have enough peas! lol
I need to check out how you made that trellis!
Congrats!!
should put the cover to save the tomato.
nice caesar salad. :) planted a lot of different variety lettuce for this season.
Awesome garden.
No offense; pull the soil away from the onion bulbs for bigger vegetables according to Kitchen Garden magazine and experience.
Terrific job!
Beautiful garden!!! Can you tell me where you purchased the seeds from? I want to purchase a seed vault and wanted to know if the seeds were from a vault or local store? I also used the fabic to keep the weeds down etc..
Beautiful garden...this is how I saw my dad made his garden in the Philippines....is that turp used to protect from frost?
Finally reaping your rewards. Your fence is up, the vegetable/fruit variety planted. Nice job. Are you going to add any fruit trees to your plan? Continued success!
Well it's not freezing here in Dallas. If it is freezing temp or close ...cover them. If it is close to freezing and no wind or clouds then maybe a frost. Good Luck!
Brandon, your garden is amazing. I live in your vicinity. Where do you get your compost, and what do you use to fertilize?
The um yum thing could go...but the rest...keep going
It happed to me one time.
Nice garden! I just started gardening myself. I have a medium size cinder block garden. I put the materiel on the bottom before I added my dirt to prevent grass and weeds. I suppose some weed seeds could blow into it though? I am in Texas also, zone 9 here on the coast.
i went efficiency 😁🤘 got lucky
Your garden looks great, despite the frost you encountered but I would advise NOT cutting the WHOLE heads of lettuce at a time. ONLY cut off what will be consumed for that meal. That's the same with just about ANY plant, unless harvesting for canning for winter.
Hi , your garden looks so nice, what kind of fertilizer do you use? thanks
Does he Fabruc help to keep moisture in also? Thanks
We had an old peach tree that was dying we cut down a few years ago. I do have a Pecan Tree!!
I have a huge pecan tree in the middle of my small backyard. I love the pecans, but it makes it difficult to find sunny areas to plant.
pecans and bbq wood !!! 😁🤘
So when do you want to start planting seeds if you live in San Antonio? Feb?
Hi Brandon , are you going to cover them for the next 3 nights since we have coolfront coming in?
I am down here by Austin, and could use some advice.
Thanks,
Hi!
Your garden look wonderful!
So much stuff.. I was wondering what kind of soil mix do you use to get this great vegetable garden??
+Angel'sDevil Here is how we amend our soil... ua-cam.com/video/uknPYDQpB-Q/v-deo.html
how do you store your harvest...newbie to gardening. I plan on canning and freezing. I do have a root cellar but unsure about temps and all that good stuff. any tips or videos of harvest storing?
I can and freeze too! I also dehydrate that has been awesome!
When did you get the greens in the ground for harvest in March? Did you seed or use starts?
Just starting out in North McKinney. Need some advice about this crazy weather and When to start. It's warm, it's cold. Im thinking Colorado was a cake walk.
TIm Raidt will it is time to start plants many thing now for early spring gardening. It’s now a race to Produce before the summer Heat!
Brandon, I used the Black Fabric as well. It works wonderful! No weeds! In Texas, we have a lot of weeds...I live in the Frisco area.
+Rose Blake Great to hear that someone else does this and finds it as helpful as I do!
Is your squash as little close to watermelon? They will mix and you can end up with Watersquashmelon which isn't so great.
check out my previous video on soil testing...I use fertilizer that my soil needs based on my soil test.
what happens when you get to the heat of summer? do you just let them die or is there a way to make it to fall?
In the UK we cut the scrapes off the top of garlic and onions so they dont produce seeds, we use them in stir fries and soup.
What’s the size of your vege garden?
When do you plant purple hull peas in North Texas
Ken Stewart For early plantings, sow seeds in the garden four weeks after the last average frost date. Succession crops can be sowed every two weeks. Excellent choice for late summer planting. Once the tomatoes and have finished up, use the garden space for purple hull peas for an early fall crop. Purple hull peas are a warm weather annual that can’t take frost, so timing is essential for later crops.
What you recommend if my yard soil is not great for gardening? Also why do you have the black in your garden?
Anna Pace the Black...I guess for keeping the soil warm...
I'm thinking of moving to Texas. What type of fruit trees grow out there if I may ask?
SocratesOfHealth ..I live in east Texas and figs do great here,I have Texas ever bearing and it's been producing heavily for over twenty years. Also have a Myer lemon and a satsuma tree which both do really well..my pear trees( I think they are Keifers) do EXTREMELY well. Oh,and if you buy a satsuma tree, get a thornless! Hope this helps 🌱💐🍂
SocratesOfHealth Texas is sooo big, it depends on which part. I've lived in south and north Texas, and the temperature in north Texas is too cold for citrus avocados and figs🙁
Cindy G but if you keep them in pots, you can still grow them here and bring them in during cold months. I'm about an hour north of Houston and also even have a mango. Just waiting for it to bare fruit :)
como se llama el plastico que usas?
What part of Texas?
What does the black cloth on top of the soil surrounding the plants do? I live in north texas where the weather should be the same and want to start a small garden of peppers and tomatoes.
it keeps out weeds raises soil temps and conserves moisture in the soil "less watering better root growth and less weed pulling win win win .
Thanks! I ended up doing this to my raised garden to keep weeds out and placed mulch on top of it without thinking that the black liner stuff would retain the moisture
.
Some people lay a soaker hose under the fabric . Also some people just use plastic sheathing if it cost's less than the landscape fabric this is what i use . good luck with your crop this year .
I hope we dont get an October frost like some are saying!
What is the name of the plastic you use?
weed fabric
Thanks
Seems like the heat wouldn’t like that heat in Texas
What kind of potatoes die in a frost? Potatoes!? They grow in idaho
+ApocalypticStorms They grow until the frost, then you harvest.
Nice garden but most people seem to realize that planting your own garden isnt cheaper than buying because you need fertilizer & water plus effort & time & loss some plants will die on you
Most people that have gardens do it for the joy of gardening. The fruit, vegetables, tubers berries are a bonus. As for cost it depend how long you have had your garden as well as the set up and plants you grow. The first year will always cost the most. But after that you dont have to buy fertilizers, water, mulch. Yes there is still your time but that evens out with the time to go to the store.
Dusty G. and you save more money if you make your own compost buy using leftovers and garden waste. if you make a warm compost the bacteria kills most of the unwanted seeds in the process of decomposing
+Torbjorn gabrielsen It's exceptionally rare for someone to grow a garden for cheaper than they could buy it if they were looking out for good deals and buying in season. Compost alone doesn't make your soil very fertile, nor do worm castings or most things you can produce on your own )outside of your own humanure). Animal manure can do the trick, but it's exceptionally difficult to grow enough food to raise animals on a field if you aren't fertilizing it.
+ApocalypticStorms People spend tons of time planting pretty flowers. I'd rather plant something I can eat.
ApocalypticStorms, my father in law told me that gardening is not for everyone. A garden will be cost effective if you do it right. There's loads of info that proves that. Experienced gardeners all say, start small. I say as small as the size of a bathtub will get you loads of tomatoes and cucumbers and some carrots, beets, spinach, or whatever you like.
