- Hurricane Idalia is continuing to gain strength and is expected to become a dangerous Category 4 storm by the time it makes landfall in Florida. As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Hurricane Idalia was located at 27.7 degrees longitude and 84.5 degrees latitude. It had maximum sustained winds of 110 miles an hour and was moving north at 18 miles per hour.

With all in the news about Idalia, seniors including us who rely on their home equity for financial stability might have faced some challenges if their homes were affected. Ian was bad not to us, we were impacted this time and to a large extent. Now we can relocate, lol.
That's true. I can imagine the stress you might be under, Was you home damaged or did you have to evacuate? Financial situations could turn ugly and make seniors quite vulnerable.
Absolutely, even if their homes weren't directly hit, the economic fallout from the hurricane could have ripple effects on property values, which could impact their home equity.

Tampa’s meteorologists should get huge payouts for reporting that Idelia was supposed to hit the Tampa Bay Area.
@@mateobaysa2055 well the track changed due to moisture front from the north, and high pressure in the east. These things can’t be fully and accurately measured days away.

@@silverwind9906yes it’s going to devastate the area it hits. Hurricane Hugo was a Cat 4. It hit in 1989 coming in north of Charleston, SC. I lived in Charlotte, NC at the time. We lost all the shingles on our roof, a tree went through my parents bedroom window, we had no power for 2 weeks, power lines and trees down everywhere and flooding. 😢

I've been through a lot of hurricanes. Those cat 4 winds can only be sustained on the coast. Fact. Everything else is just a storm. Fear porn is heavy duty these days. Pushing the climate change narrative.

When it reached north of Atlanta it was still Cat1 almost cat2 ripped over a bunch of trees. I was LEO at the time my whole shift got sent out with chainsaws in our cars bc the public works crews couldn’t get trees moved quick enough so ambulances could get into neighborhoods

..I have lived in Florida all my 70 years and have been through many hurricanes. A unique factor with them is that in the past there was Zero Lightning in them. Now, there is some lightening. There was a very clear satellite short video over the storm. The lightning was ahead of the storm as if the storm was following it.

No it hasn't, it's forecast to be a 4 at landfall as of the 11:00 update (they do official forecast updates at 5am, 11am, 5pm, & 11pm.) We won't know for sure until probably 5am. But, it's definitely looking like it's going to be a 4, though, unfortunately. I'm glad it's hitting less households than Ian, and I'm slightly outside the cone, but still really concerned. Ian just totally trashed our house and life, and did so for so many people, and we're still fixing damage from that, we can't take another beating. I hope everyone in the direct path have left and/or are going to be okay. This sucks.

CITGO, 7 Eleven and some other gas stations (more than 30 gas stations) around evacuation zone in Florida had diesel mixed regular gas. If you pump after 10AM on last Saturday, you might have that contaminated gas. That contaminated gas might damage your engine completely. Government webpage has the list of gas stations. Governor suspiciously said "This was HUMAN error. This was COINCIDENCE that this incidence occurred in evacuation zone in evacuation time." as if he was excusing himself "He planned it and did it!" I tell you Government is the biggest criminal organization of the world. You can Google this incidence if you need more information.
