Chappell Hill Airing of the Quilts 2023: A Unique and Delightful Tradition You Need to See

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see a town covered in quilts? Well, that's exactly what I experienced when I visited Chappell Hill, Texas, for the Airing of the Quilts event. This is a special occasion where the local quilters showcase their amazing works of art on the buildings of this small and cozy town. I was blown away by the colors, patterns, and designs of the quilts, which ranged from traditional to modern. Many of the quilts are made by members of the two guilds that meet around this area: The Friendship Guild and the Hens and Needles Guild. These quilters are very friendly and passionate about their craft. They were happy to share some interesting things about their guilds with me. If you can make it out to this event next ear you will have the opportunity to buy some of these quilts. The church was breathtaking with its quilts filling in the pews.
But quilts were not the only attraction in Chappell Hill. I enjoyed the charm and beauty of this historic town, which has preserved its vintage buildings and atmosphere. I got to see the smallest post office and bank ever. I highly recommend visiting Chappell Hill. At the antique shops you will find lot's of vintage treasures.
Chappell Hill is a perfect destination for a weekend trip, especially if you love quilts and ice cream. Yes, ice cream. This town is very close to Brenham, which is the home of the famous Blue Bell Ice Cream museum and factory. You can treat yourself to a scoop or two. And if you still have room for more dessert, you can stop by Bevers Kitchen for some scrumptious homemade pie. I had the sugar free apple pie and it was DELICIOUS!
