Wouldn't Joy from Season 12 be considered one to have worn a black jacket and kicked out during service? Or would it not since she essentially walked out?
@@snakecake-mw7vw Elise made it far in S9 by robbing Jennifer of course and Elise in S17 gone when she should've gone. Anyways, why is Elise even being brought up here?
@@snakecake-mw7vw I'd probably still consider Elise or maybe even list her as an honorable mention due to the many mistakes she made throughout the competition but personally, I don't feel like she's bad enough to be in the top 10.

I think that Sabrina is the worst because she literally cried and manipulated her way to Black Jackets. I was so glad to see her get her penance the first black jacket service.
Who do you suggest? Vinny who was mediocre at best, the rest of the trashy non-black jackets of S8? This isn’t a personality competition, it’s not Sabrina’s fault that S8 talent happens to suck
@@EliseToole She's just part of the dumpster that was S8. Sure, her ability to cook was okay but it wasn't good enough and her ability to be a team player wasn't there, it never was. You can see by everyone else's expression they were just happy to see her go.

Well having a not so crappy personality helps. If you’re gonna be that much of an ass, then be an A+ chef to back it up. It’s not Hells Personality or even Crying Whining Manipulating Kitchen. It’s Hells Kitchen.
Random Fun Fact About the Black Jackets: So far in half the seasons, the last person who got the black jacket ended up being the first person to be eliminated in the the black jackets round. Initially, it happened once in a while in earlier seasons (being seasons 1, 2, and 10), but between season 14 to now, every person that got the black jacket last was eliminated first.
This is why they really need to nix the black jacket challenges, I miss when they just simply eliminate someone and the rest who make it to the final 5/6 are automatically awarded the black jackets. Because within a challenge, the last person to receive it was already on the thinnest of ice, AND, another really annoying pattern is the chef who most deserved a black jacket, is eliminated. Andrew from 16, Jennifer from 17, Kanae from 18, and… and this is a big one; NIKKI from 19. I will never ever ever ever understand how and why Amber got the black jacket over Nikki. It just makes those black jacket challenge episodes infuriating to watch.
I’ve noticed that a lot with the black jacket challenges. I think the idea of the challenge is creative, but it made more sense to just give the remaining 5 or 6 best chefs black jackets.
And that guy made Gordon threw up with his signature dish. For Jen, I can understand why she made it to Black Jacket because she has vocal and leadership behind her annoying attitude but Matt, he's a whiner, complainer and a big baby.
I hated Sabrina Brimhall. She reminded me of a girl I went to school with and had the exact same attitude. She had no talent, didn't even try to work with her teammates and never owned up to any of her mistakes. She'd always try to start some drama and even Ramsay wasn't putting up with that. Him telling her she has a lot of heart is BS. No she doesn't have heart, she only cared about herself.
She acts like she's never getting her next Barbie doll on her birthday. She's always making an excuse that she's young and being 22 at that time and inexperience. Meanwhile, Michelle from Season 14 was 22, she's never cry even though most of the time she got bullied for being the youngest and even made it to Black Jacket and top 3. And then she won The All Star Season.
11:47 "Ramsay eliminating Van, one of the worst decisions of all time" - I know obviously you were referring to within Hell's Kitchen but I love the notion that it was genuinely THE worst decision of all time out of anything
In my opinion, the worst black jacket in HK history is someone that you didn't even mention: Jimmy from season 1. He never had a single good, or even decent, service. And Jimmy would have almost certainly gone both week 1 and at final 7 if he would have been nominated (seeing that Ramsey actually stuck to his nomination rules back then).
A few years ago when I was between jobs, I decided to come up with my own HK contestant ranking. I quickly realized my ranking system was problematic, but I was willing to tinker with it as I went along. I was only able to finish seasons 1-3. Josh finished as not just the worst black jacket, but the worst competitor overall. And it wasn't even close. Maybe someday I'll go back and finish/revise that, but the main issue with Josh was basically what you said: that he lasted a while and never really had a good service or challenge.
@@govinpillai3475 I never got to their seasons, so they might well have ranked worse in the system I was using. But the main reason Josh was ranked so badly is because he lasted until black jackets despite never really having good services or challenges. That's when I realized my system wasn't really working, because it was cumulative and didn't have weights built in for where they actually placed and stuff like that.
@Patrick Depew so you're saying that Polly from season 2, Vinnie from season 3, Jeremy from season 11, and even Louie from season 6 are better cooks than Josh?! Josh is the least deserving black jacket contestant but not the worst competitor and certainly far from being a douchebag. Josh probably deserved 6th or 7th. Please, at least have some empathy for Josh, ok.
@@definitelyadragon1644 No, I'm not saying that at all. As I mentioned, I never progressed beyond season 3. Also, the results were cumulative, so Josh's longevity helped bring down his score. That's why I knew my system was profoundly flawed.
I just want to take a moment to analyze Suzanne from hk s6, she was up for elimination far too many times to have gotten a black jacket, and elise too, she also was a pathetic performer all around. They both had major attitude and ego problems, and they were bad chefs, and both somehow made it to black jackets. Elise was put up for elimination 7 times dammit.
@@quak1nat0r Say what you want about Suzanne and Elise, they both are not bad chefs and can be consistent when they want to. Suzanne is just careless and arrogant as she thinks she's better than anybody on Season 6. Also, I think Carrie is way more annoying than Elise as she likes to talk back to the guest judge and even Chef Ramsay himself which is considerably rude. Sure, Elise is rude but she's never been rude to the guest judge.
When I think "Tommy from Season 9" I think of the final 5 when Gordon told Tommy to fuck off or he'll stick his face into the oven and talk to him from the other side, and Tommy looked him in the eyes and said "Do it."
You’re wrong about Tommy. I know him personally and he’s an amazing chef. The producers pick and choose what to show on the episode based on personalities.
Amazing chefs don’t make 50+ mistakes in services, have complete communication blunders, show no leadership whatsoever, have mediocre challenge records, and bad passes. Just because he’s amazing outside of the show doesn’t mean he was amazing on the show. Real life and HK don’t correlate
Also Tommy didn't backstab Jennifer like the top 2, Paul and Will when they backstabbed Jennifer so Elise could stay because Elise manipulated them. Only Tommy who against it as being neutral.
Nah its because the blue team lost the final 7 service, his final 8 service wasn’t too terrible, but if the blue team won the final 7 service, he would have been an easy boot
I'm surprised you didn't mention Elise considering how much drama she caused (which is the only reason she stayed). She should have gone home pretty early, all she did was completely drag her team down over and over because of her antagonism, even if she wasn't the worst chef.
Personality doesn’t matter on HK, if that was a factor on the show then we wouldn’t have winners like Meghan S14 or Ariel S15. Plus, personality depicted on the show doesn’t correlate to outside of the kitchen. Elise deserved to get to 5th (not 3rd since she robbed Jennifer). This is a cooking competition, not a likability competition
@@EliseToole I understand where you're coming from but I still disagree. She caused a ton of problems and 100% made her team fail more often than they would have if she wasn't present because the coordination and teamwork would have been better. Also the show is to determine who becomes a head chef, if your head chef behaves the way she did then you won't be successful.
@@NekoLilyK Once again, this isn’t a personality competition. Not to mention that using personality as a factor is a horrible way to judge the competition considering. - This is a highly stressful competition. - You’re filmed on camera almost 24/7. - Editing always makes things seem much worse than they actually were (Jennifer S9 even confirmed this). - Once again, chefs act differently outside the show and are actually nice people (because this position is off the show, who knows how a contestant will act, a head chef position at the prized restaurant is a lot less stressful than a line cook under HK conditions). Elise was bad, but considering the fact S9 had absolutely trash talent, Elise was one of the better chefs we got (unfortunately despite being pathetic as a chef). If this was a personality based competition, then there would be no cooking competition. What’s the point of a cooking competition if you’re only going to pay attention to personality? You can’t pull the stupid “Looking for a head chef” excuse when we also have winners with bad personalities regardless and for the reasons listed above. The head chef is determined through consistency, challenges, service standouts/leadership, pass, and most importantly, FINALE. Nothing else Also, Elise wasn’t the sole cause of the red team being bad. Literally everyone except Jennifer and Jamie were trash and nothing more. Teamwork and coordination can’t go much further when you have trash competition.
@@EliseToole They are competing to be head chefs. As you should know, head chefs lead an entire kitchen. Thats why gordon tests them at the pass. Elise could't be a member of a team without making people hate her and bring her team down. As a head chef, if you have a terrible personality then you bring down the quality of the whole team as no one wants to work with you. Atleast with Gordon, while when he does yell at his chefs, he is still respected because he is a fair man and will give praise where praise is deserved. Having a bad personality can effect a kitchen a lot and while its not taken in to account, it still refects on a chef overall.
@@cannontalecki8471 Once again, there’s no telling of how they’ll act as head chefs outside of the show where the environment is a lot less stressful because chefs are almost always better outside of the show. If personality truly mattered, we wouldn’t have winners like Meghan S14 and Ariel S15.
“Sabrina should have gone home over Louis” Not really since he also had a terrible service in episode 4, and his challenge record was laughably bad, compared to Sabrina’s challenge record before episode 5( which was very good). Also, why Garrett over Sabrina. I don’t recall Garrett ever doing anything right during his time on the show. Also, who excuses raw chicken with , “iT’s FaStEr”?
Louis was also incredibly out of his league. I remember him trying to confront Raj about his attitude and kitchen failures in 8.02, but it was just so passive.
Clemenza was one of my favorite HK contestants ever as he was picked on from beginning to the end by his teammates, usually over petty reasons, blatant favouritism (don't tell me that Justin wasn't biased in never recognizing Brian's mistakes during services), and a more than evident alliance in the Blue Team against him that came off in the final 12 in its worst evidence. Despite all the pressure he costantly got through, and his personality easily dropping from bombastic to overly anxious, he was able to bounce back the whole time ending, rightfully, as the 2nd to best male of the season as he always had proven to be during challenges and services (Brian was more consistent but never saved the situation alone or made a decisive score) yet he was still ostracized during the final when it came to decide from the eliminated contestants. Ramsay kept him so long because he saw all the passion this guy put when cooking and how much he burned for showing off his qualities, something that was often misunderstood as just "small name, big ego" by his teammates instead of giving him support, unlike they did with each others. Last but not least, lot of Clemenza's mistake didn't come from overconfidence or being shallow in his approach, but for being way too passionate to (often) either overlook simple mistakes he could have avoided or crumble spectacularly on his own self-disposing anxiety of performance.
Clemenza was about as bad as Robyn when it came to taking accountability. I wont deny Justin and Brian's alliance, but all Clemenza did was claim to be the best, screw up, and act like he's the scapegoat when he's called out for his mistakes. It's no surprise Christina and Justin didn't want him in their brigades
Out of all the ''bad'' dishes that i possibly might of tried myself....Matt Sigels was one of the grossest opening plates i've seen on the show ingredient wise. When he said '' i know what Ramsay is looking for'' and then went into detail...like what the fuck bro lol.
I would put Clemenza at 8 Paulie at 7 and Ben at 6 since Clemenza and Paulie fought back many times and bounced back on occasion while Ben never got better
Josh did score the most points in the first challenge on his team with 4. It would end up being his sole highlight of the season. At least his exit was the perfect way of showing that he did not belong in the black jacket.
Elise should never have gotten one in my opinion. She went further than many other chefs that got eliminated. TOO further. She was nominated more than Sabrina and got nominated so many times in her All Star season too and went further than other chefs that should have stayed over her (Van, COUGH, COUGH!).
I feel like I'm the only one who actually likes Robyn, she definitely matured and progressed since her since 10, and her comeback in All Stars was bumpy, but she did good, better than a lot of other Chefs. Also, why the hell isn't Elise on here lmao?
I agree, am watching All Stars right now and she was pretty solid before she got eliminated. She had a couple lucky moments but she did pretty well in later challenges and services, especially with the Blue team, and her dish definitely deserved to stay over Jennifer's and Elise's
@@EpicAndrew97Robyn did nothing wrong at the final 10 to get nominated. They just nominated her just for personal reasons when Van & Milly were the main reasons why the blue team lost. If anything, either Elise or Barbie should’ve been eliminated over Van.
dude i robin was just straight mediocre. She usually trash in challenges. Mad inconsistent on services. Neither team she was on liked working with her. You're honestly just biased if you think robyn was better than elise at cooking bc even though people on the team hated her, a lot of them still preferred elise bc at least she wasn't a liability
@@Cashmoneez You can’t say that about All Stars now. Ever since Jared got eliminated, she started to bond more with the blue team and she lead them to like a few more reward challenge wins. May I remind you that she took the entire red team down in the blind taste test challenge and scored 3/4. The red team was so bad that only Barbie scored points but she scored 2/4. If Robyn was able to beat her old red team that challenge then you have a problem here. Not all of Robyn’s services were terrible. Sure a few were bumpy but they weren’t majority that bad. Robyn was able to hold her own at times. Plus she has mellowed down compared to Elise who was still the same person who she was in season 9.
Honestly, talent wise, Season 14 is the most talented season of all. Josh is not a bad chef and he's very cheerful person and has fun personality. But, I agree Allison should've made it to Black Jacket over him since Josh is getting slipping in the middle.
Yeah, for such a talented season I feel Josh stands out like a sore thumb. The blue team was constantly throwing Randy under the bus even though Josh was clearly a worse chef and Allison had one bad performance. It also doesn’t help his case that he sucked in All-Stars
Actually, Randy deserved a Black Jacket over both Josh and Alison. Josh obviously because he started spiraling after Bret had to quit and Adam got the boot. Alison pretty much screwed up at the wrong time and unfortunately she was much worse than Josh that service at the final 7 so I do understand why she got the boot.
Jen Gavin was painfully obnoxious. I knew numerous women just like her throughout my junior high and high school years, thought they were queen shit, thought their gaffs was everyone else's fault, and blew up at anyone who even muttered a syllable of disagreement. So seeing her make it to 4th place in season 4 was beyond exhausting. And then she utterly ruins what reputation she may have gained by mouthing off to Chef Ramsay in season 18 and walking out on the second service.
I feel like she would not have made it to the final 4 in that season if the red team lost the final 7 service Matt and Jen would be nominated with Matt being the easy boot, final 6 get black jackets (hooray Louross!) Final 6 is when Jen and Christina would have a terrible service, leading to an easy elimination of Jen Final 5, Bobby gets eliminated Final 4, Corey goes home Final 3, Christina doesn’t make it to the final Final 2, Petrozza wins over Louross
In Sabrina's defense she did earn that black jacket and we can't ignore the fact that Vinnie collapsed for 3 straight services, did she have a attitude issue yes but she atleast cooked her way out of situations because that Red Team had no leader and what's sad is they could of used Sabrina's attitude as an asset and got rid of people like Emily and Melissa who obviously were just sinking the Red Team apart.
I will not gonna root for a manipulative punani who fake cry when everytime she's nominated in eliminations but doing that shitty smirk to everyone got eliminated.
I honestly don’t think Sabrina deserved the black jacket. Sure she could cook but being a head chef at a restaurant takes more than cooking. You need communication and corporation skills, of which Sabrina had neither. She was such a hypocrite, would laugh and shame others and would throw people under the bus without regret but the second she’s put up she starts crying and whining. Vinnie made mistakes yes but at least he had the communication skills that she lacked. In my opinion Vinnie deserved the black jacket over Sabrina, think she was only kept on for the drama cause she had 0 chance to win.
@@uncreativeusername8176 Ever considered the fact that Vinny had 4 bad services in a row and that this isn’t a personality competition? You can’t judge personality in a cooking competition because the outcome IRL is obviously going to be different and the conditions these chefs go through are far more stressful than a real kitchen setting. Plus, Sabrina communicated and showed more “corporation” skills than you think. Why should she get eliminated for having a good service when Vinny had a TERRIBLE one? I disagree with 10, 8, and 7 Especially 8, Ben was really good throughout, he definitely deserved a final 3 spot over the inconsistent Andrea, truthfully if Robert hadn’t quit in the final 5, he would have definitely outlasted Andrea, and maybe Ben
When I first saw this, I thought Ben was a weird choice for this list. After I’ve rewatched Season 5, though, I’ve realized Ben only got 4th place because of EXTREMELY lucky circumstances: At the final 13, Ben had an awful night, but Seth committed a major health violation It looked like he was improving but at the final 10, he had his worst service yet, but Ramsay gave him and Lacey another chance because he’d kicked J out earlier At the final 9, Gordon eliminated LA, who was probably better than Ben overall, even though he totally didn’t have to because he’d booted Lacey At the final 7, Gordon eliminated Carol from the winning team because even though Ben was bad, he didn’t ruin an entire menu item like Carol Even at the black jackets, he survived the first 2 services because Gio fell apart and Robert had to leave for health reasons
@@EpicAndrew97Andrea only had one straight-up bad service in the team phase, with that being the fifth one. She was strong before that and got a best of the worst immediately after, recovering well until the final 6
Kinda surprised that Ben was here instead of Andrea from season 5 yeah they were both lucky to get as far as they did but Ben definetly deserved his black jacket and should have been above Andrea in season five I have a feeling Andrea wouldn't have been Dannys second choice for his final team even if she was available...
@@EpicAndrew97But she wasn’t though. Even then, Giovanni collapsed pretty hard at the final 6 on the meat station. Pretty much that sealed his chances of making it further.
This is a really good definitive ranking of the Worst Black Jackets, all spots that overall make sense, even if I’m surprised by one exclusion from the list (posting in reply comment below so as not to spoil the video).
I’m surprised by Elise not making the list. I’ve commented previously that I like S9, but even I admit her track record of nominations should’ve booted her maybe at F7 over Natalie. It’s another obvious case of personality over talent there. Also yeah, Van is the biggest BS elimination in HK history.
@@hieuo8259 Oh she does have her moments of having very strong services, on both of her seasons. But she's had a couple bad ones too, which results in an inconsistent performance. I disagree with people calling her a weak chef, but she is an even one.
Elise should be on here. I get that she had the talent and leadership skills. But the way she got jennifer eliminated was one of the biggest backstabbings in hells kitchen history
I'll take my shot (and believe it or not, I wouldn't put Elise or Paulie on this list; some are on here because of the nonchalant attitude, rather than the dislikeable personality or inconsistent performance) 10. Suzanne (Season 6) - vastly overrated chef, and I believe she holds some record for losing the most services and/or challenges in a row (I can't remember exactly off the top of my head) 9. Autumn (Season 7) - nominated far too many times to finish fourth 8. Susan (Season 11) - never had a great service, and even if she had been better, her lack of experience would have hurt her 7. Gail (Season 8) - in a terrible season, I don't remember her making too many mistakes, but just didn't seem experienced enough to make it, and never stood out enough to me either. 6. Sara (Season 2) - one of the most unprofessional chefs in HK history; say what you want about Elise, but at least she took the competition seriously. Watching Sara treat it as a joke (or at least it looked that way) really annoyed me. 5. Jen (Season 4) - like Sara, part of me felt like she treated the whole experience as beneath her. Sometimes, that can carry more weight than a poor performance. 4. Josh T (Season 14) - credit for his eagerness, but he was making way too many mistakes, and thought he was better than he was, which is a huge energy killer for me. 3. Sabrina (Season 8) - worst season by far, and so even making the black jackets wasn't saying much that year. 2. Josh W (Season 3) - everybody else has already said it better than I could. 1. Matt (Season 4) - for one reason, and one reason only - say what you want about Josh, but he didn't act like a toddler.
I think u forgot to mention that Josh was also the first person to ever get ejected from the show before the elimination ceremony and is the only black jacket to do so.
Sabrina is the undeniable proof that drama in a cast is enough to carry someone unless they're literally insane like Raj. She isn't an awful cook, even among S8's weak cast, but definitely not black jacket worthy imo
@@thegamingsai1or635 On second thought, I guess Ed wasn't that bad, but he did have a couple of bad services. Autumn on the other hand, she was inconsistent af, and deserved to go home over Ed.
Ed's only terrible dinner service was the one he got eliminated for, and honestly (Reading the replies), Autumn wasn't that bad either, Gordon had a tough choice and ended up choosing the one who had the worst service that night
@@pecemakor917 Ed and Autumn are not bad. Ed just losing his confidence and feeling overwhelmed while Autumn constantly got bullied by her teammates and even Chef Ramsay himself! But, she didn't giving up.
@ParadoxVexal It wasn't just his final performance, when the whole team got drunk (yep, the red team couldn't even beat Hungover blue team), the rest of the team recovered after it, but Ed crash and burned after that
My Top 10: 1. Josh (Season 3) 2. Matt (Season 4) 3. Clemenza (Season 10) 4. Autumn (Season 7): I honestly believe that she showed the least amount of growth in a pretty mediocre season. But Autumn over Jason? That's just insane. 5. Elise (Season 9): There are better leadership skills shown in other contestants eliminated prior to Elise's exit like Jennifer and Natalie. Or overall stronger chefs like Elizabeth and Jamie. 6. Roe (Season 14): TBH, I honestly can't believe she was eliminated over chefs like Ashley, Katie, and Fernando. Roe was super inconsistent both in service and in challenges. 7. Jen (Season 4): Worst attitude during service. Literally being an asshole even toward chef Ramsay. She could have been eliminated instead of Sharon, but nope. That didn't happen. 8. Robyn (Season 17) 9. Sara (Season 2) 10. Josh (Season 14): I would have preferred a mediocre chef like Christine or Alison, instead of an egotistical chef going on a downward spiral like Josh... HMs: Heather (Season 18) and Amber (Season 19). Chefs that I don't know how they won in their Black Jacket challenges over their respective counterparts (Kanae and Nikki respectively). Worst of all, they got eliminated on the next episode they were on... Pretty disappointing...
Remember that Elise only made it over Jennifer because she manipulated Paul and Will to be on her side, and she just so happened to do that right before he asks them who the weakest chef is. That was the moment that cemented Elise as my all time least favorite contestant in the whole show.
Where’s Tommy? He was pretty bad during Season 9 and worse than Elise. Also, Sharon deserved to go, as Sharon did poorly 2 services in a row, while Jen didn’t mess up at all in episode 2. Kanae isn’t robbed because she never stood out as a leader, while Heather did. Also, Kanae’s mistakes were more severe.
That makes it even worse to me imo that she did make it to the black jackets/final 2, and along with josh making the black jacket the following year, they're probably the reason why the amount of chefs increased the following seasons, to avoid such weak chefs making it super far.
@@FlynnMasters yeah but I think she easily was better than everyone else but Heather that season, I saw Keith as somebody who was more incompetent to actually run a restaurant. I was more just referring to saying she’s a joke of a runner up, I didn’t think she was that bad.
Yeah I kind of agree, maybe Virginia is a joke, probably the worst runner-up in HK's history but giving the fact that the season 2 cast wasn't really that strong to begin with, aside from Heather, of course, it's actually quite understandable why she made not only black jacket, but also the final 2. To me Keith was a stronger chef and would have made the finale much more challenging compare to Virginia but perhap it's his incompetent that caused him the top 2 spot.
I expected the top 3 of Season 2 should be Heather, Keith and Garett. Garett was robbed and I can't believe Sara who most of the time always showing her annoying smirks every time someone's making a mistake was on Black Jacket over him. Let's not forget Sara ever sabotaged Virginia one time and made Chef Ramsay made to Virginia. I think Virginia is not a bad chef as she's always winning so many challenges. She's just lacking of confidence and not believe in herself. But then again, competing someone like Heather who is so serious and determined from day one will make anyone feel nervous and crumble.
Also in final 9, Tommy bad performance was also being overshadowed by Paul disastrous performances. Both were lucky as red team lost the dinner service.
Also, Robyn had one of the major redemption arcs that season. She started with getting the villain/delusional edit on her original season (an edit I almost think she got due to how much attention Elise's villain edit got on Season 9, and they wanted another one of her). Then she comes on this, and sort of gets the "starts off poorly, but redeems both her character and performances over the season" arc. Many comments I saw even said they started off not liking her, but began rooting for her as the season went on. She almost got a similar edit to Ra'Jah O'Hara on RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars 6, going from a villain to a sort of underdog (although Ra'Jah was kind of a frontrunner on AS6). Plus, like Ra'Jah, Robyn was kind of the narrator of the season too, giving great confessionals and hilarious moments.
@@heymistercarter. Legit, I thought Robyn was awesome! She really just won me over compared to her original run. She had a good heart, good personality, just needed focus.
Sabrina, Robyn (x2), Matt, and Josh all getting black jackets basically made them lose any value they could've had. While Josh is 100% the worst chef, Sabrina would be the worst on my list, because the others still fought or had help by the producers and Gordon that they didn't ask for, while Sabrina literally cried, lied, and manipulated her way to one. There were many others who did so throughout the show's history in other seasons, but the rest of them just barely missed out on a black jacket, unlike her. Virginia's not only the worst runner-up in this show's entire history, but quite possibly in all of reality cooking show history in almost any competition and television series that's similar to Hell's Kitchen. She was literally just kept around from the producers wanting two female finalists that season. Gordon was mad at what Keith said because he knew it was true lol.
I always wonder if some of the decisions are made based off things we never see... considering a service is about 3 hours and on tv is 15 minutes... so there maybe be things that aren't tv entertaining but are mistakes that make Gordon get rid of someone
If Sabrina (S8), Jamie (S9), Natalie (S9), Ed (S7), Brian (S10), and Tommy (S9) were the black jackets how do you think that would go. However, Sabrina will be much more likable and friendlier than in Season 8 and all of them will be twice as good as they were in their original season.
To me the Top 10 Worst Black Jackets are #10 Ben (S5) - Wasn’t Awful but not Black Jacket Worthy #9 Paulie (S16) - Ditto #8 Robyn (S10 & S17) - Ditto, also she only got that far for the sake of drama #7 Trevor (S8) - Had a few descent services but was mostly inconsistent #6 Matt (S4) - Had one good dinner Service, every other one was a disaster #5 Josh (S3) - Inconsistent the entire season, no idea what Ramsey saw in hin #4 Andrea (S5) - Ditto #3 Virginia (S2) - I find it outrageous that she was a Runner Up #2 Sabrina (S8) - Only kept for drama purposes #1 Elise (S9) - Ditto

To be fair Elisa is a great chef. Yes her attitude suck and her communication skill is below average, plus the inconsistency in both her time on season 9 and season 17, but overall she's an excellent cook and she delivered some of the best performances throughout her run on HK. It's just that her attitude is so stink, horible in teamwork and the fact that she manipulated the other chefs in order to eliminate Jennifer in season 9, many people tend to ignore or forget how talented she really is.

Sara was a villain and she never listened. There were allegations that she was a bully in her earlier days and it possibly showed in the El Paso incident with her weatherman bf. The reason that Virginia got by was due in part to her palette (one one of Nick's podcasts which she mentions she never realized that she had this talent). Sabrina was like Sara 2.5 and extremely annoying. Matt I think literally lost it. Found an article that mentioned he worked in one of the twin towers as 911 attacks occurred (and was able to safely get out) and unsure if he had PTSD. He did seem like he did crack mentally as the season continued. Josh kept making the same precooking mistake in the final service as he did that got him the first notable elimination via ejection that sous chef Scott ripped into him and accused him of sabotage. Apparently he runs a company that sells vacuum-sealed cooked and ready to eat foods that are normally found in fine dining restaurants. Mind you a 'junior' sous chef could be considered similar to a vice GM in sports (as they don't have any authority and really observe and slowly get mentored). Trev I felt was a mess. When you have Ramsay literally helping you on getting meat done properly (which I don't think ever occurred before Season 8 and during a black jacket dinner service). I would think it was would make any chef look bad. Nona said it best about the training wheels during this incident.
Are the chefs told they are going to be eliminated prior to elimination because many episodes some chefs seem really down on the device prior to elimination, like they know so they don’t care !
@ParadoxVexal so you're saying that Susan, a black jacket from season 11 who took more than half of the season just to learn how to cook lamb properly deserves a black jacket more than Tommy?!
@@definitelyadragon1644Susan wasn’t that terrible compared to others here who didn’t deserve a black jacket.
I noticed that too
Maybe it is a coincidence
This is why they really need to nix the black jacket challenges, I miss when they just simply eliminate someone and the rest who make it to the final 5/6 are automatically awarded the black jackets. Because within a challenge, the last person to receive it was already on the thinnest of ice, AND, another really annoying pattern is the chef who most deserved a black jacket, is eliminated.
Andrew from 16, Jennifer from 17, Kanae from 18, and… and this is a big one; NIKKI from 19. I will never ever ever ever understand how and why Amber got the black jacket over Nikki.

Dude how is he worse than Lacey or Raj ?
@@govinpillai3475 I never got to their seasons, so they might well have ranked worse in the system I was using.

Nothing else
Also, Elise wasn’t the sole cause of the red team being bad.

Sabrina got on my last nerves with her manipulative tears during her elimination nominations Jesus I wanted her to go home so many times
I feel like she would not have made it to the final 4 in that season if the red team lost the final 7 service
Matt and Jen would be nominated with Matt being the easy boot, final 6 get black jackets (hooray Louross!)
Final 6 is when Jen and Christina would have a terrible service, leading to an easy elimination of Jen
Final 5, Bobby gets eliminated
Final 4, Corey goes home
Final 3, Christina doesn’t make it to the final
Final 2, Petrozza wins over Louross
@@EpicAndrew97 Would've been quite the interesting scenario.
I really liked Vinny from the beginning. Sad to see him disentigrate .
@@uncreativeusername8176 agree
@@uncreativeusername8176 Ever considered the fact that Vinny had 4 bad services in a row and that this isn’t a personality competition? You can’t judge personality in a cooking competition because the outcome IRL is obviously going to be different and the conditions these chefs go through are far more stressful than a real kitchen setting. Plus, Sabrina communicated and showed more “corporation” skills than you think. Why should she get eliminated for having a good service when Vinny had a TERRIBLE one?
S8 Sabrina's Standouts
Ep 2: Had sushi accepted, had sushi praised for being very nice and beautiful, got sushi appetizers leaving the kitchen in a timely manner, getting the red team off to a strong start, eventually completing appetizers
Ep 3 Challenge Service: Helped get the fruit salads out to the dining room, helped get the red team's scrambled eggs put to the dining room, checked Emily's bacon, discovering it to be completely burnt, it was thanks to her and Melissa that a table got sent out
Ep 5: Communicated on the status of her potstickers and they were praised for being nicely cooked, vocally motivated the team, got appetizers flying out to the dining room, eventually completing them, vocally motivated the brigade, with her leadership helping to lead the red team to bounce back and complete dinner service, Ramsay praised the flow of appetizers post-service for being consistent and really good, then naming her BoW for her performance
Ep 8: Identified Trev's carrots to be burnt, whilst also giving him help on garnish
Ep 9: Communicated with Jillian and had her scallops praised for being nicely coloured, with Ramsay wanting all of her scallops to look like that, had scallops accepted, became vocal, communicated well with Nona and then Gail, having her halibut praised for being perfectly cooked, with her then vocally motivating the team and calling out the next ticket, with Ramsay praising her performance post-service
Ep 10: Had steak accepted, despite initially not responding to Ramsay, her steak was praised for being perfectly cooked, got several meat entrées sent out to the dining room, had steak accepted
1. Clemenza was lazy
2. Pauline was bad
3. Virginia was bad too
4. Robyn was bad season 10 and worse season 17
I disagree with 10, 8, and 7
Especially 8, Ben was really good throughout, he definitely deserved a final 3 spot over the inconsistent Andrea, truthfully if Robert hadn’t quit in the final 5, he would have definitely outlasted Andrea, and maybe Ben
When I first saw this, I thought Ben was a weird choice for this list. After I’ve rewatched Season 5, though, I’ve realized Ben only got 4th place because of EXTREMELY lucky circumstances:
At the final 13, Ben had an awful night, but Seth committed a major health violation
It looked like he was improving but at the final 10, he had his worst service yet, but Ramsay gave him and Lacey another chance because he’d kicked J out earlier
At the final 9, Gordon eliminated LA, who was probably better than Ben overall, even though he totally didn’t have to because he’d booted Lacey
At the final 7, Gordon eliminated Carol from the winning team because even though Ben was bad, he didn’t ruin an entire menu item like Carol
Even at the black jackets, he survived the first 2 services because Gio fell apart and Robert had to leave for health reasons
Andrea was overall worse than Ben, if not equally as bad and she's not on here somehow
@paradoxvexalshe would've been ejected at the final 6
@@EpicAndrew97But she wasn’t though. Even then, Giovanni collapsed pretty hard at the final 6 on the meat station. Not only having a rough argument with chef Ramsay over the D*ckface comment but he accidentally burned Robert’s hand by leaving a 500 degree pan in the fridge. Pretty much that sealed his chances of making it further.
I was going to nominate Virginia as I didn't think you'd put a finalist on here but I didn't have to correct you as you were absolutely spot on.
80% of Tommy's mistakes were because he wasn't communicating
This is a really good definitive ranking of the Worst Black Jackets, all spots that overall make sense, even if I’m surprised by one exclusion from the list (posting in reply comment below so as not to spoil the video).
I’m surprised by Elise not making the list. I’ve commented previously that I like S9, but even I admit her track record of nominations should’ve booted her maybe at F7 over Natalie. It’s another obvious case of personality over talent there.
Also yeah, Van is the biggest BS elimination in HK history.
The thing is, Elise is actually a really good chef, despite her shitty attitude
@@hieuo8259 Not really, she's pretty shit in every way minus her surprisingly solid pass
@@hieuo8259 Oh she does have her moments of having very strong services, on both of her seasons. But she's had a couple bad ones too, which results in an inconsistent performance.

Elise should be on here. I get that she had the talent and leadership skills. But the way she got jennifer eliminated was one of the biggest backstabbings in hells kitchen history
She didn't have any leadership skills, letalone talent. She had a big mouth and would shout with it.
Constantly shouting and bitching at people isn't leadership skills
That’s no reason for her to be up there

@@Cl1pxs I mean, she was quite terrible in Season 9 along with Tommy.
You should do a reaction to WatchMojo’s Hell’s Kitchen related Top 10 videos, to see if you agree with them or not
I would love to watch that
I would love to see a video on the worst Black Jacket teams of all time- for example Season 4's Black Jackets overall, and Seasons 8's :)
I'll take my shot (and believe it or not, I wouldn't put Elise or Paulie on this list; some are on here because of the nonchalant attitude, rather than the dislikeable personality or inconsistent performance)
10. Suzanne (Season 6) - vastly overrated chef, and I believe she holds some record for losing the most services and/or challenges in a row (I can't remember exactly off the top of my head)
9. Autumn (Season 7) - nominated far too many times to finish fourth
8. Susan (Season 11) - never had a great service, and even if she had been better, her lack of experience would have hurt her
Up until the black jackets, Gail was a front-runner, as she was a strong cook all season. Sadly she bombed once BJs came.
Incredibly surprised Jimmy from S1, Ed from S7, and Elise from S9 aren't on this list. Also surprised Roe wasn't on this list.
Why would Ed be on this list? From what I remember, he was very consistent throughout the season until the service he was eliminated
@ParadoxVexal It wasn't just his final performance, when the whole team got drunk (yep, the red team couldn't even beat Hungover blue team), the rest of the team recovered after it, but Ed crash and burned after that
I’m in shock Elise from season 9 isn’t even on here
She was a bitch but she knew how to cook
I’m honestly gobsmacked you didn’t even mention Josh being the only black jacket to get eliminated during service
I'd put Kashia on that list over Tommy. She threw a lot of people under the bus and didn't take any responsibility for her actions.
Don't forget that Matt is a true culinarian.
Yes. Only a genius would think of making a dish with white chocolate, caviar, and raw venison. Capers as well.

My Top 10:
1. Josh (Season 3)
2. Matt (Season 4)
3. Clemenza (Season 10)
8. Robyn (Season 17)
9. Sara (Season 2)
Where is Sabrina, how could you forget her
@@duwuw1721 I personally believe that Sabrina is Underrated
Remember that Elise only made it over Jennifer because she manipulated Paul and Will to be on her side, and she just so happened to do that right before he asks them who the weakest chef is. That was the moment that cemented Elise as my all time least favorite contestant in the whole show.
Jen should have easily been eliminated over bobby
Where’s Tommy? He was pretty bad during Season 9 and worse than Elise. Also, Sharon deserved to go, as Sharon did poorly 2 services in a row, while Jen didn’t mess up at all in episode 2. Kanae isn’t robbed because she never stood out as a leader, while Heather did. Also, Kanae’s mistakes were more severe.
Tommy was on cutthroat kitchen later and man that guy is so chill and likable
*Ramsay to Elise:* Just stop being such a bitch!
*Elise on All Stars:* So if it's ok with you, I'm just going to ignore that advice.
How the hell did Tommy make the list over Elise

This is proof that HK isn't a real cooking competition, but a soap opera with some cooking thrown in.
I don’t think Virginia is that much of a joke just considering her competition.
@@FlynnMasters not to mention she got chosen over keith

Sabrina grew on me towards the latter half of the season.

Same, she had some of the funnier confessions. She kind of reminds of that friend whose fun to hang out with but always gets you in trouble
Also in final 9, Tommy bad performance was also being overshadowed by Paul disastrous performances. Both were lucky as red team lost the dinner service.
I think Robyn is better then Sabrina since all-stars was a much stronger cast then season 8

Robyn didn’t even belong on an all-star season

How did matt even get a black jacket? What about lou Ross

Another honorable mention would be Gail. She was too inconsistent even from the beginning.
RIP Paulie

There are many more undeserving black jackets that could replace Tommy's spot. Tommy doesn't really deserve to be on this list.
