As usual , another clarifying video , this time about a > for the foreign students learning English language , the prepositions ! With your examples , i suppose you have covered everything about them ! Thank you SIR !
... Yuletide greetings from the CzechRep ... that was nourishing ... your rule on (potentially) standing passengers who "get ON/OFF" a vehicle does not seem to fully hold water for planes where standing is (physically) possible but not allowed ... (perhaps sufficient headroom is enough to support this usage) ... but it was a revelation to me ... I´ve always been foggy about embarking / disembarking; boarding; alighting... ... thank you ...
Greetings! The "on/off" rule, it seems, applies when you step onto or off the transport form, even if you eventually have to sit. The motorbike is perhaps an exception - even though it involves sitting, we still say "get on / get off" 🙂👍
@@EnglishwithRupert ... rules and exceptions ... your lectures always inspire me to peruse sources I wouldn´t have perused without (them) ... thank you ...
1)a)Where are you traveling to? Can I say b)'To where are you traveling?' I think it is not common, but It looks correct grammatically. What do you think?😊 In part 16:09 2)a)I am at the hospital visiting my aunt. Can I say b)I am at the hospital and visiting my aunt. C) I am at the hospital, visiting my aunt. in part 22:21 3)What will you be doing at Christmas/Diwali? Is 'On' correct in American English?
1) Yes - that's fine (it ties in with my point on relative pronouns) 2) These examples all work 3) I'm always a little nervous to say how American English works, seeing as I am British, but my understanding is that prepositions work in the same way for this particular issue 🙂👍
I am a beginner and your videos really have helped me my dear teacher.please make a videos about adverbs and how to use it. The best wishes for you🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Hi! This happens in response to a question where the verb is clear from context and so is omitted e.g. "Are you stopping for Christmas?" "I hope to" (i.e. I hope to stop)
Surely this is very true that you're superior teacher im not comparing your personality in a hyped way but believe me " superior" is an advance adjective of " best" that's all for my comment actually i was reiterated myself which's about to accepted isn't it 😅?
@EnglishwithRupert Yeah I dive into your video more literally like divers get dive into water and I enjoy your every video uploaded infact I started to hook up more enthusiastically.
Hi Rupert, Are all of the answers grammatically correct? Question Who is the doer? Answers 1) The doer is I myself 2) The doer is me myself 3) The doer is myself 4) I am myself the doer. 5) I myself am the doer. 6)I am the doer myself 7)I have a question regarding him/himself. If the last sentence(Number 7)is correct, any difference between him and himself?
This is a person. because is is non action verb or a linking verb that doesn't need an object but subject complement instead,so a person doesn't act as an object.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have learned from you because of the genuinely amazing way you teach.I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
I'm really happy that you have found my videos useful. Merry Christmas to you too!
