Howard is a good man I got to get out of my way and join the Long Islans CW club. Also need to figure out zoom. I got all the equipment but not the knowledge.
Catching up on Team Replay ❤👍 Kyle, you have gotten me absolutely hooked on this morse code thing! My steampunk tank-girl dreams are becoming reality! Too freaking cool :) i appreciate your consistency.
That was a great interview, Kyle. I needed some motivation. I joined LICW early (#607), but I got busy and never put as much effort into it as I should have. I really want to learn, and am going to try to hit it hard over the winter. I like their new format.
I credit Howard for getting me on the air (his intro speech and the GOTA classes). When I joined I had been using an app to learn the characters however never made a QSO. They got me on the air 6 months ago and I now have 1.6K QSO's and growing now. I'm not into group learning however I sit through classes and they tons of great tips on how to learn and improve. Also, a membership is dirt cheap. One of the big surprises about CW is the number people and contests that are on the air every day, unlike SSB.
I joined LICW in Dec. 2019 and I am still at 16/6. I still need the farnsworth spacing to collect my thoughts between letters. I still practice almost every day though using a Morserino, Morse Code World and occasionally phone apps when mobile. Slow learner but I am keeping at it and have not given up.
I watched several videos of yours, this video and the 13 wpm one I the found most interesting. Do you know if the LICW archives their Zoom sessions and presentations? Tnx
Kyle, best reason to practice rag-chewing is E-COM! If everything falls apart morse code will get through on QRP, and that is communications that we can't do unless we try to rag-chew regardless how bad we suck the sour grapes. I have a friend who carried out 3 extended QSOs on 3 keys (2 hands and a foot) signal, province/state, grid, full name, club, weather & more! I am learning the letters out of a Candler System High Speed Telegraphy Book slowly and learning to send on an app on my I-phone spending about an hour per day broken up in 5 to 10min parts. I can't afford the long Island CW club though.
Thanks for your video+, a member of the LICWC for a month +, starting my cw journey.
Good luck!!!
Thank you for doing these types of videos. You are really motivating me to continue with my cw ops.
You are so welcome!

Kinda my story too. I joined, took a bunch of classes but then life got in the way. Thanks for watching.

Yes...thanks for watching and all brilliant points!
I’m a lifetime member. 14 months ago. Just started bc1 this month. Ready to go!
Awesome!!!
When you interview Evan K2EJT, please discuss SKCC with him, please!

Sounds like my issue!

It think they do record some pc the past presentation but I don't think they record their zoom sessions
I do wish the class schedule was consistent and easily searchable
Yeah. Something like that would be nice. Something like an itemized list with dates and times.
I’m 1/2 way through team replay. Maybe they’ll speak on this

Uh....
Amateur radio is above politics. There is no reason not to allow membership from Russia. I am appalled!
Ok
Awesome show Kyle! Looking forward to the next episode with Evan! de Patrick KF4LMZ
It's going to be great!
