- Janthir Wilds is here and it's an extremely exciting and promising looking first release for this year's expansion! With the long-awaited player housing "Homestead" system, a huge rework of the Warclaw mount, beautiful maps, and a really strong story so far, these first few days have been a blast! Watch the video to find out my thoughts and first impressions of JW!

,Most under rated MMO in history....god love it so much
Same, LoL 🐣🐲💯🐲🐣
yea it's definitely the most underrated same with swtor and gw1
Nice review dude. Am so loving this expac. Especially because I've found myself curiously drawn into the story, which (as a veteran player) usually doesn't happen for me!
Yeah, I actually had that feeling of wanting to come home and get on GW2 just to play it more!
I love your video, i think its true strenght of the gw2 wot thay gave us hier. I will have to weit about month more before trying and enjoying it but i am triled from the gameplay and expiriencies from you guys, from UA-cam and Twich. Its coming back to the ruts, bigest strenght and beauty lies in world, GW2 world events and random storys and livelines in the world. I an glad that thay went back to it.
Thanx 🐲🐣🐲
AWSOME VIDEO 😎👍🏻…Glad you’re Enjoying the Expansion🤗
Thank you!
Your Welcome in My Homestead Anytime… I mean it for Real 👍🏻
I'm on the same page on everything: loved pacing, features and everything but the visual noise...after a while I understood how to manage most of the attacks despite the purple/yellow clutter abundance, but I hope the'll reduce it a little, since they now can't change how the new enemy attacks got introduced.
I have to say, I love the more difficult enemies, HoT launch style, heavy on condi: I have already upped my PvE build and pay double attention during fights, and hope that it will help players get better to survive (I'm seeing a lot of downed people every fight, and that's fine 😊)
Your character looks awesome!
Great video!
Thank you and thank you!
Comparing SotO to JW something dawned on me. SotO is GW2 through a WoW lens, the maps are utilitarian and meant to get you from A to B. A few things in them add ambience and that's all, it never really feels like someone lives there. This makes sense since ANet did get a huge influx of ex-Blizzard staff when the whole "no remote work" fiasco took place.
SotO was those people finding their feet and working with the WoW bias, this affected their output. With JW their WoW bias is largely gone and the maps feel like someone lives there, they are more than just a utilitarian means to deliver content. With all the small touches that are there that serve no purpose the maps feel real and lived in, even Janthir Sentri despite it being immensely hostile has things like that, one thing that springs to mind is the rather idyllic cave on one of the lakes. It serves no purpose other than being pretty and that creates some much-needed contrast to the harshness that is Janthir Sentry, which in turn makes the map feel real and lived in.
I also think there's a sense that they didn't quite understand their scale with SotO, and probably went into it thinking they had to make several full size maps, before then realizing they were going to need to dial things back for a yearly release schedule. There was definitely some floundering around the conclusion of EoD (and the Gyala stuff) before they knew what they would do with SotO, and presumably a lot of development had already taken place at that point.
They were fairly forthcoming about the missteps in SotO, and while I didn't DISLIKE SotO, Janthir is certainly a breath of fresh air!
@@avoxtr That makes no sense in the context of what we have. Several things on either map serve no purpose other than being there. Adding those things is more work than the maps we got and would have little with an expectation of needing to create more maps, we're even getting FOUR in JW even though the last two are only the size of Lake Doric each.
Right now i see one big problem with the first Expansion update. There is just nothing to do. The only thing you can really do are the masteries. And i have completed all but two (last 2 warclaw masteries) withing 2 days of the expansion. Homedteading is ok but not sth i can spend a lot of time on (resource scarcity etc). And now im in a situation where a couple days after launch im already back to old content. There is nothing to work towards, no new endgame, and the story lacks a villain. It doesnt help that we have to wait 3 months for the next update...
didn't you play story? we had a main villain revealed already, but inaccessible to us. people are already gathering materials for legendary backpack and spear and homesteading is some endgame for people, maybe not you but a lot of people are already crafting tons of decorations
I'm not sure how often you play but I've been on for a few hours a day and I'm still overwhelmed with how much there is to do! There are a ton of events I haven't even tried in Lowland Shore and Janthir Sintri, I'm not even done with the story, and I can tell I'll spend a lot of time homesteading! 😁
@@avoxtr I played the expansion for about 20-25 hrs.
If you want to spend time designing your homestead you better start hording resources :D Most of the Furniture is really expensive/partially time gated.
