What is wrong with that? They pay high taxes to live here just north of the core downtown Chicago. We allowed our cities to decline in white-flight, losing tax paying industry and redlining for banks not to provide its FHA or GI low-interest loans to many areas. This area probably was not one? Just not sure if you go back a few decades? The city also does it part to improve the infrastructure of streets, pavements, some bike lanes and new antique reproduction street-lights along with planting more trees and aspects of flowers. All cost tax $$$, but these residents pay in taxes for it and our cities need these high-tax paying professionals.... thank God for them till it is severe ..... and Chicago is far from fully gentrified as most of Boston and more and more of NYC etc. It also maintains full city including hoods... street-sweepers service outside of winter. Alleys lined with tax $$$ city furnished lidded trash bins every alleyway has along with garages. Some still believe our cities are all just wasting away hoods..... far from it. We damage our Legacy cities terribly by our own aspects of choices. Gentrification is key if corporate America is not going to provide paying jobs for those not having higher wages to afford to restore homes and buy them in some areas perhaps you wanted to see?
