Lee kernaghan. No matter how many years ago you created the best song for the country and the boys from the bush it never gets old. Loving your new album see you on tour AGAIN!!!😀😀😀
This song will never fade being a female born in Wee Waa NSW, I'm from the bush, and your right when Saturday night comes around we're all at the pub in the shout 😀 😉
I've lived in far away parts of the world, like voluntarily. And every year got more homesick, without knowing what it was wrong, really. One of the things I didn't know was - I missed the sound of Australian music. When I finally made it back home, and heard Slim Dusty and Lee Kernaghan again - Oh my gosh, I'm home again, thank God!
I got absolutely blind drunk when I was 18 years old, living in Tamworth. It was country music festival week and my housemate gave me a case of Bundaberg rum. I came to and this song was playing, I was in the middle of the Tamworth entertainment centre and I had NO IDEA where I was, I had been completely blackout before that point. Good song, good memory, was cool seeing you even though I still don’t really know who you are. Crazy what Tamworth and some Bundaberg will do to a person.
I',m an old Tamworth bloke. I remember my mates and I would knock off from working all day on the farm and drive to Sydney, stir the city slickers up a bit then drive home and then go back to work the next day wondering why we were knackered. lol to be young again. I was involved in the County Music awards back in 81-84 and I had the pleasure of knowing Ray Kernaghan, Slim Dusty, Slim Newton, John Minson , Shorty Ranger, Tex Morton, Buddy Williams, Smokey and Dot Dawson, Arthur and Berice Blanch, Brian Young and Stan Coster. I worked for the Northern Daily Leader at that time and performed at Cathy's Tavern in Somerton on Saturday nights. Great days and sadly so many have passed away. I might live to see Christmas 2022 myself if the cancer doesn't take me first. keep up the great work Lee and yes you need to come State side as you hav many fans here. cheers everyone.
Great story, you can only pull that stuff when you are a certain age. Years later when your spouse asks why are you smiling with such joy as you recall your Tamworth adventure, never tell the truth, just say you have gas, spouses hate those stories and will hold it over your head.
One of Australia's best ever country singers. What a voice, go Lee Kernaghan. Australia has so many great country singers and this man has to be one of the best.
Hi thanks for your love and support I will continue to make you proud. I want to go out of my way to appreciate my most passionate fans on here . Which of my songs is your favorite?
I really like this song. I know it's an old classic, but not being from Australia and only being 30, this is the first time I've heard it. Lyrical content is obviously 100% Aussie with lines like "cullin' our roos", but what an interesting accent for a country song. It feels almost exactly between Australia and Tennessee, and it sounds surprisingly natural as a fusion. I wish Keith Urban would sing like that instead of neutering the Australian identity completely.
Australia has long had a vibrant country music scene. You might want to check out Tamworth when it has music festivals, it's in New South Wales. I also think you would enjoy Paul Hogan's "Charlie & Boots" film, a little gem about a father and son traveling from the south to the top end, they stop in Tamworth. After the end credits is an in-joke, Hogan and his son are traveling over Sydney Harbour Bridge, Hogan comments "How'd you like to paint that bastard"? That was Hogan's job for years, he also saved a few people from jumping off it, more than once risking his life. Hogan is the real deal, a fair dinkum true blue Aussie.
I’m from the US and to be honest I didn’t even know that Australia had country music up until a while ago. Lee should play a show here in America when all of this Covid stuff is over.
