I feel that some of you are missing a lot about this game.
Is it a deep thinking, chin scratching, “and now I reveal my master plan Mwa ha ha ha!” strategic masterpiece? Of course its not - it’s a dice game. BUT some are giving it a lot less credit than its due.
So you want choices - well here are a just few that are not being talked about.
The Killer Combinations. Tom mentions these in his review but what is not discussed is the ability to hold dice back over a period of a few rounds in order to build-up the results you need to trigger your combo. - So what do you do? Do you maximise your chances to attack (or defend against) your opponent in the next round by rolling all your dice? Or do you set two dice aside and enter the ring with just two dice, knowing its going to hurt but giving yourself the chance to trigger a game reversing uber-attack?
The wrestlers unique abilities can also present some interesting and game changing choices.
Lady Kabuki, her lightning reflexes mean she is hard to hit. If she rolls two blocks in any one round she can pair those up and use them as a counter strike. - So what do you do? Your opponent has scored two Hits against you have rolled two blocks and one Hit. Do you use the blocks to cancel out both of his hits, ensuring you take no damage this round? Or do you double up the Blocks, allowing one Hit thru and taking a possible 3 points of damage but use the Counter that will gains you to allow you to double your damage capability or even give you the chance to roll the Lucha-dice?
As the Cobra you have the choice to sacrifice one dice before any round in an attempt to perform a targeted nerve strike. So what do you do? Do you keep all your dice? Or do try to limit your opponents potential attacks, again knowing that whether your nerve strike works or not you will still be rolling only 3 dice and against you opponents 4 in this round.
There are simpler choices open to all wrestlers too like the ability to carry over an unused block into the next round. So you may not score as many Hits but you are certain you can stop at least one of your opponents strikes against you which could perhaps keep you outside of the Pin zone or save you from a knock-out.
    I could go on.
Seriously guys, As I said, it’s a dice game and by definition luck plays its part, but there are many more “meaningful” choices in this game than you give it credit for.

Nice. I'm not a big board game guy usually, but I always have fun with them when I do play them on occasion. My gf wants to start playing some, so as Fallout fans we just ordered the Fallout board game, and this game will be the second game we get, since we are both pro wrestling fans, and I'm also a massive lucha libre fan as well. Should be fun.

I am not a wrestling fan at all, but this looks cute. Might play it if someone else buys it.

I'm going to watch this video everyday. Tom eating crow is blissful to me. I don't care one way or the other about this game but I do love to see Tom wrong. ;-)

Yeah... but the names he's reading don't seem spanish at all :P Maybe it's something that makes sense in mexican, but man, La Tormenta Muerta seems pretty weird to me xD I guess they translated literally DeathStorm or something like that, haha.

Sergi Rodríguez You're probably a better judge of that than me, since Spanish is not my first language. Nor English. But I don't have anything against literal translations. They tend to be quite enjoyable. With that said, I'm gone with a "Hasta la vista, baby". Or "Until the view, bebé!". As you please! :P

Haha incidentally, in Spain when the Terminator should say "Hasta la vista, baby" they translate it as "Sayonara, baby". So "Sayonara, baby" :P

It's still not very strategic. I felt I had more choices to make in Martian Dice than this.

Well, strictly speaking you don't have any choices to make in this game. At all. You roll the dice and do what they say. I'd have to clarify but I'm not even sure you can choose whether to use your special vs just the individual dice or not.
Wait. I've thought of one decision, in a tag match when to tag out or not.
Regardless I still quite like the game as well. You do need to get in to it and countdown the pins and talk through the moves you're doing like a commentator, but if you can do that, it's an okay dice chucker.

You do get to choose what dice you roll at times, but you don't get to choose what dice to assign where. I like the idea of using dexterity to knock your opponents dice out of the ring, but since you're supposed to roll at the same time it's kind of a moot point.

Jake Kamps Oh yeah, if you get 2 hits, choose the Lucha Dice or 2 normal hits. I've not managed to get v2 to the table yet, I want to see how the special abilities play out.
The pin rerolls early are your best chance to knock a dice off, though usually it's your dice that go off :)

Barry Smith right (about your dice being the ones that roll off)

Still not impressed, it's still mostly the same old luck fest as before just with a few extra tweaks like minor special abilities. I think this is coasting purely on people's love for Mexican wrestling (why it's so full of cheese and ham and fakeness) and the wrestling ring board which to be fair looks cool.

Yep, I don't think its trying to be admired for its mechanics, it's all more about the theme and the people you are playing with. It's something fun to do, like playing with a toy, and the few decisions in it are meaningful enough that you get to roar if they pay off or laugh if they fail dismally. My boy loves it cause he can beat me. :)

The commentors here who seem to revel in their own rhetoric in an attempt to give this game some negative description are quite likely from one of or both of the following tribes: have consumed far too much brain crunching game material and far too little experiencing fun games, and/or never been inside a ring with another opponent, hell bent on knocking you out before you can reciprocate!
The first 'tribe' I use to describe those who have 'played' so much complex and serious games, quite possibly at tournament level, that they have become 'conditioned by the classical mess'! They are no longer able to 'have fun playing games'.
The second 'tribe' have little or no experience as to what it is like to score against an opponent in a 'real time' event such as boxing, wrestling or any of the martial arts. Far from the nice clean process attempted by game simulations, it is frantic and often painful, which in turn produces a high probability of 'the best laid plans' going FUBAR!
My credentials for making such comments: a 57 year old father of 4, grandfather of 5, active in martial arts for over 25 years, player of boardgames and miniature table top games for 45+ years ranging from snakes & ladders to Advanced Squad Leader, Chess and quite alot in between! They were all called 'GAMES' but not ALL were 'strategic' or highly complex. Which did I have the most fun playing? Those games where the participants had similar mind sets, and could still find fun no matter how complex or simulated the game play mechanics were. Moral: It is more often not the game which you play, that is fun, but the people with whom you play it with! Lesson over, you may go to break now ; )
