Finally!!! Looks and turned out beautiful John, Johns Dad, Ike, and all Friends and helping hands along the way! I'm sure after 11 yrs it's an emotional moment for you John! Been there done that a few times. Now too old and half crippled from age and autoimmune disease which has taken its toll on all my joints. Now a days I stick with small engines lol and that's why I love watching your channel here. I wish you the very best of luck with the newly finished truck and years of happiness. Keep them ideas flowing for future builds and we'll be here to help and watch you guys. You and Ike make a perfect match for each other and make the show enjoyable yet entertaining for all! Keep the wrenches flying!
Hopefully one day I'll be able to see you in a car show with my own high school restoration that I've been working on for 2 years now. Mines a 66 coronet with a mopar 383 big block. I'm hoping to have it on the road this coming summer but it's not as pretty as yours. Mines just in primer from fixing rust. Glad to see the old truck finally working out. Been a viewer and sub for a long time.
I love that it don't have 52 inch wheels with a ton of lights underneath it making it look like a cross between a Christmas tree and a UFO. It looks like a super clean super nice build. I'm a Ford guy but that thing is gorgeous and I have a ton of respect for that truck and you guys for spending so much time and not quitting and selling it halfway through like most people would do nowadays. Much respect fellas . We need more people in this world willing to put that much effort into anything nowadays. Everyone seems to be eat up with how fast and cheap they can make something and how much they can sell it for. And props to your dad for giving the okay and putting up with all of it. He should get some kind of award for that lol. I can't wait to see it finished.
The rat rod wagon is what got me on this channel (i dont even have go carts lol) but im still hooked regardless. Love the truck. Been waiting to see her come together. You guys still inspire me to get in the garage and work on my projects. Awesome job!!
Congratulations guys! I’ve been watching for about five years, and I remember when the truck was a frame, with wheels and a motor, in the background of some of the videos! So happy to see it done! I hope you enjoy it, John!
I bought that exact engine from Jegs back in 2001 John. Just to let you know, it is a GREAT engine! The only thing that gave me trouble on it was the carb. I believe its a Holley 600 vacuum secondary. I would recommend hunting up a more dependible one to go on there. Anyway, just wanted to let you know about it. I put mine in a 93 S10, and it would scoot! It's also a 4 bolt main block. So it is stout. You shouldnt have any problems adding HP parts to it in the future if you ever get the urge to do so. I love your truck Bud!
Cudos to Dad!!! Letting y'all use his garage and working on the truck. Bonus for all of us out here, we got to meet you, and Ike, plus so many more friends since then!! Thank you all for making this channel what it has become today!!!!! 😎😎

Your Ground issues can be cured like I did on my trailer......Use those Fan style washers that cut into the metal as they are tightened but if there is no extra room for the washers you can get Nuts with those cutting teeth on the bottom. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Man I’ve been watching this sexy girl go through the changes in the background for years now and it’s heartwarming to finally see it painted and back out of the garage. C10s are just outstanding and shows any project can be finished no matter how long it may take.

What a phenomenal job man it turned out beautiful! I don't think I've ever got to see a restore of this year model that looked as awesome as this! Hats off to everyone who participated in the build! My dad still has his 66' fleetside. 1990 was my sophomore year and it when I turned 16 I found my first truck in a farmers field way out in the country where I went to high school. A 1965 Chevy Stepside short wheelbase. It had a very sun faded orange cab and a sun bleached, extremely faded and weathered white body, dirty ass mag wheels(General Lee style), entire bed floor rusted and rotted out, and a 283(I think, long time ago),lol with three on the tree. My dad paid the old man $1000.00. I had it for over a year and restored most of it . Wrecked it one night and caved the fender in behind the tire passenger side. Went to junkyard and got a fender off of a 1957 Apache but never got around to getting it painted. Put it for sale and had a preacher buy it 45 minutes after I put the sign on the dash. He said he would finish the restore. Wound up dating his daughter almost 10 years later and the truck still sat in the same spot it did after he got it from me. Nothing else done to it. Next time i get back where I'm from I'm staying and plan on paying this guy a visit to see about getting it back if it's still there.
I meant to throw you an idea if you ever decided to do a custom twilight set up. I had planned on getting the Chevrolet bowtie emblems that were on the front of the hood on 1969/70 pickups. They were chrome with a blue plastic insert(similar to tail light lens), and about 8 in. long. I was going to cut out an old taillight lens cover to replace the blue insert, drill the necessary holes in the back face of the fenders about a quarter of the way above the bottom and hope it turned out at least half as cool as I imagined. I saw a local guy use taillights off a Chevette and he Frenched them in the fenders. Not bad but Mustang taillights from a 73 fastback would've looked better if turned sideways. Have a good one dude and congratulations!
Boy oh boy has it allready been this long. I've been watching since the 50 dollar go-kart where this truck was in the back ground collecting dust and man its got me sheading a tear. Good job John and everyone that helped you out with this truck. Cant wait to see it cruising in a future episode of cars and cameras.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
That is a beautiful truck and it is yours, because you put your blood sweat and tears into it. You're extremely fortunate to have a friend like Isaac and many others that helped you out on this project and the resources to do it. I hope when it's complete that you can get a snapshot or video to pay homage to all the people that put their time in and helped you with it that would be awesome.
Great video! We as loyal subscribers should share with our vehicle loving friends. By the time this is a fun cruiser CarsandCameras needs another 84,000 subscribers so that this channel can get its next UA-cam award.
Woo-hoo! There is nothing like the sound of a machine you have put so much time and effort into coming to life for the first time. Hats off especially to your dad. Also kudos to all your friends and Isaac. Just be careful when you take it out for the first time that you watch out for that big silly grin. It invariably comes just before something unexpected happens. Also the most important tool to carry with you is a decent size fire extinguisher. I have seen too many newly built vehicles die in their first hundred miles due to fire. Above all, stand back and take pride in the fact that you did it yourself. Congratulations! Man, what a great feeling that is!!! A buddy and I just recently (finally) got a 1968 c10 running after a rebuild of just about everything besides the rusted body. Straight 6 3spd on the tree!
That's an excellent looking truck! I just inherited a 65 C10 shortbed stepside after my dad passed. I'm going to restore it to like new as a tribute to him. This video gives me inspiration.
Long overdue video here. Enjoy!
