Where would you retire? Mexico? Costa Rica? Somewhere else? If you want the keys to your new life abroad, watch the replays of ExodUS Summit 2024: Move Abroad School for Black Women: exodussummit.com
My name is Marva Spence. I am afro Costa Rican, 71 years old. I was born on the Caribbean Coast. Now i live in Heredia, close to the airport. If I can be of help, let me know.
You ladies do not look like you should be anywhere close to retiring. However, I love this channel and have subscribed. I have four more years before I retire and would love to check out Mexico! It felt my mother wants me to take her there to see what it's like!..... Great information ladies. I will continue to listen out for your next video where you have right information to pass along. Peace and blessing
Same here and I think it's the case for many Black American women. We're really just searching for a safe place. I'm vacillating between Mexico or Costa Rica. I wish I had made this jump when my health was better.
With all do respect, I believe that waiting for your rewards in Heaven and suffering on earth, may be a hold over from slavery times. The church also double downed on that notion. As God's children we owe it to ourselves to be happy on earth and in Heaven.
Watching from the future and this video is still relevant!! Thank you Stephanie and Roshida for creating Exodus Summit as a safe space for black women who desire peace and a softer life! Planning to retire in Mexico 🇲🇽 2026! 🙏🏽
Elder millennial here living in the states as part time retired nurse. I love this video and the work these ladies are doing. I'm absolutely here for loving abroad and living a nomadic lifestyle. The only thing that bothered me about listening to this was the fact that there is a differentiation between America (USA) and Mexico and Costa Rica, when in fact these areas are all apart of America. So people living in Costa Rica and Mexico are still Americans too. I was reminded of this my first time in Costa Rico when i was corrected by a local. I didn't make this this mistake in Mexico. America isn't just USA (the corporation)
It’s funny because I felt the same as soon as I got to Mexico City a few years ago. (I’m from London so am used to a city). I pulled myself away and have ended up really loving the Quintana Roo area more, specifically Tulum & Bacalar. Fully making my leave from London in a couple of months and can’t WAIT!! 🎉❤
Safety in the USA example I was sitting in my car at a traffic light when a car pulled up and opened up gun fire on my car. By the grace of God i survived unfortunately my car did not to much damage to from all the bullets especially the bullets that went through the hood of car . Costa Rica here i come
Hey Stephanie...Funnily enough, avocados are fruits. To be more specific, an avocado is a single-seeded berry. You might be used to avocados in a vegetable-like role at the dinner table, but looking closely you'll see they are biologically a fruit.
I love the thought of Costa Rica but the bug situation gives me a pause....I really like being able to get back to the USA within a couple hours of Mexico. One thing I do know is that I gotta get out of this place...lol
I am thinking of going to the Central Valley of Costa Rica. I do not like a lot of heat all year. Climate is really an important consideration. I plan to look into the city of Queretaro, which is similar to San Miguel de Allende in many ways, but less expensive. You are doing an amazing job sharing information.
I have been yearning to travel. Im so use to the American ideal of life but I’m so glad to find you. This gives me more inspiration to get going with the research and get out there and travel.
I signed up for exodus summit in Sep 2021 and never even attended because it was so busy at work. Since then I’ve started my career break, have been watching Stephanie’s videos, and I just went in my Facebook which I don’t even use to put my face in my profile photo and request permission to join the Facebook group. I just book my first trip to Costa Rica Rohrmoser area this month! How do I find the exodus expats in Costa Rica?
Excited to find this channel before the summit next month in Oct. Years ago, I was a flight attendant and we travelled to Mexico City. We, the crew, were not there long enough to tour, but looking out of the window of my hotel, the size and buzz even at night was intriguing. Fast forward, last year, I met a young 23-year-old white guy who posted an article on the benefits of living in Mexico, but working online and doing business in the US. I said I would read it later. Before I could review his article, I have met white, Black and Latino that live part-time in Mexico and Puerto Rico, many in their 20s and 30s. Again, I said I would deep dive, but didn't. Your channel has pushed me to know more...Now!
Watching the replay & I'm so glad you mentioned Puerto Vallarta since I'm doing a scouting trip there in March. No mobility issues, but let's just say my knees don't like a lot of stairs or steep hills. 😂
Dear Stephanie, Forgive Me If I’m Being Too Personal Or Intrusive, But You Look AMAZING!!! (Let’s Get That Out If The Way😊) Thank You, Both, For The Video! Now I’m Ready To Enjoy!!!🌹
Once you spend time in the right place for you in Mexico, you will call it home. Mexico is very accessible to the US but definitely a different vibe. Mexico is wonder-full!
I live in Guadalajara part-time for now and eventually plan to live in Mexico permanently one day. Guadalajara is the 3rd largest city in Mexico and has plenty to offer if one desires living in a large city. It took a couple years to really appreciate living here. Mexico most likely has what you're looking for in a place to live. What would be an ideal place to live abroad? Weather? Population? City or rural? @@MarshelleHarris
Hi, thank you for your video, for giving lots of tips for living abroad. Have you ever thought of discussing Botswana? Any hints about that country. I would love to hear about this.
OMGoodness! So glad your channel was recommended to me. Maybe because I pulled up a few "Learn Spanish" videos(studied French in school). Will say I travelled to Puerto Rico years ago, and when the lady assisting people at the airport asked me a question in Spanish and I answered in English, she waved me off angrily to someone bi-lingual. LOL.
Thank you for being so informative. ❤ I was able to send this out to family and some friends. And I hope that they will enjoy this as well. Lots to consider here. I'm definitely looking forward to my time away.😊
Lovely Video. Thank You Stephanie & Rashida. Having Watched All Through, I Now Grasp That Stephanie Was Referring To The Quality Of Her Specific Video Feed; Got It! But That Too Was Absolutely Fine! Interesting & Informative. Thanks To You Both. Have a Fabulous Day!🧚♀️🧚♀️
I loved this conversation!! Currently Mexico is at the top for me. The one thing that I am curious about is the options for dating in those places. It’s not a high priority, but definitely a factor. I would love feedback on this but no one EVER addresses it.
Hello Ms Perry, I’m in London, 61, thinking of possible move to the countries you highlight….,love to connect with you! Love to attend exodus summit!!!!!
I hope this question doesn't sound too crazy but I live in Chicago a friend of mine went on vacation to Mexico don't know what part but he said in the hotel room and other places there were signs all over saying don't drink the water and there was bottled water everywhere.... Have you seen this or do you know anything about this.?💚💚💚
In Costa Rica you have both the permanent market (mercado central) on each town and you also have the farmers market (feria del agricultor) on each town once a week where local farmers bring and sell directly their produce There are buses that go everywhere in Costa Rica. Just that same as in México better if you live in a city center since most buses go out and arrive there
Can I be honest? Its hard for me to get into these types of conversations because one person takes up so much space in the convo. Roshida should consider pausing and letting Stephanie speak more and ask her questions throughout. This just bothers me because I experience this with people that take over entire convos and go on and on. Anyways, this just stood out to me. Also, I'm going to Africa to settle down fyi - would love to visit these places though.
I'm looking into Jamaica. Retired and married but want to get away alone for a few weeks to a month. Looking into a month to month lease apt or airbnb. Not really sure how to even go about stepping out of the box and actually doing this.
I’m open to change and think about moving away from America. America is scary for minorities, but I have to wonder, if Mexico is such a good place, why are thousands of Mexicans crossing the border to be in America. I guess that’s what’s concerning to me.
Ha! I say this all the time. Some of my friends are waiting to die. Such a heavy feeling. Houston in warm and humidity and I'd like the same climate. Over 50 babe!!❤❤❤❤ by the way, love you ladies🎉

I'm gonna answer my own question...Costa Rica! 💗
Merida Mexico. However,I'll visit Costa Rica before I make my final decision. The summit is a must. Thanks for this.
I have a former coworker that is Mexican and we stay in touch.
One more thing to drop is labels. Americans are obsessed with labeling people. Just be.

Currently retired in Limon Costa Rica.

Roshida: Money is important + Stephanie Perry: Money is not real = Healthy Partnership❤
😆 💗
Stephanie is me ! I need food delivery and public transportation and laundry etc
Roshida, your mother's life in Mexico sounds absolutely fabulous!!
I hate I let my family talk me out of it using fear. I'm so ready.
Fear is just a four-letter word. Time to show your family what you're made of!
Have you talked yourself back into it?!
God's will I will be at exodus summit 2024. My dream is to live abroad, but finance is holding me back.

I’m ready for my interview 😀
Congratulations!🎈 Yay… I hope someone 😅will actually get the opportunity to interview you!😇
Hi! How are you enjoying Merida? Do you feel safe?
We looked at Merida as an option for us.
Yaaay!!! What a Blessing! I'm next!🌊🧜🏽♀️
I love how mama Dowe is out in those international streets.
In order for me to cast a vote, i would have to visit & experience each location.
Mama Dowe is LIVING! 💗
Honestly, your hair looks wonderful that natural look. I love when black women wear their hair natural. It fits you perfect

Because it’s very competitive. Women in those countries are beautiful and in shape, and the guys are used to that standard.
