    Christy... heard cheddar made his cameo spot at the beginning always nice to hear him 😂 my heat gun came with NO accessories and it’s the Wagner furno 300 I feel ripped off but I really like it but now on Amazon finding accessories my husband thanks you I’m almost certain of that🤣 my first resin pigments I bought was Just Resin titanium white Just Resin bright Gold JR turquoise luster JR fuchsia and they have always produced awesome cells and lacing (who knew at to what extent if only had right heat gun accessories )but the jars they come in for some reason get really messy! If they ever get hard you can reactivate them by putting in a heat bath or running a torch over them quickly but yeah they are great my husband will be happy I already own something that you showed so don’t have to buy it I will let him know you said you’re welcome haha looking forward to your videos “in the makings” always a HUGE fan thanks for the tips

    The only flat tip mine came with was the one that you call the puller. I just got my hc on last week and it's no wonder now that I couldn't get my waves to do like everyone else did when they tried to push them. I think I might try using one of the round tip since my projects are a little bit bigger.

      LOL! there are about two videos on my channel where the darn attachment falls off, that's why it looks so bad - I just squeeze the metal tip of the attachment until it fits a little tighter - there are probably solutions, I haven't looked into it, like maybe searching for just the ends pieces to see if there is a lot you can buy or something

      Hi, here is my video on sand and prep: ua-cam.com/video/uu7-6snHEZk/v-deo.html
      As for colors pulling away from the edges, I havent noticed a problem with it, something you should check is how thick the resin is poured, resin will often try and snap back to where it started if the resin is too deep

    I have tried my hands on the ocean waves but failed every time. How thick does the white pigment hAve to be to form lacings? I wait till it becomes like sugar syrup consistency, but the rest of the poured resin on the board thickens too and it becomes very hard to move the resin. It would simply spread on the entire board like clouds (no lacing or cells). I have also tried keeping the white less thicker than sugar syrup, that didn't work too. What am I missing here please?

    Thank you for this tutorial, I have a problem where i do the small surfboards and getting cells I’m finding very hard as my heat gun on has one temp and it’s either on/off ....
    I’ve always used the (duck bill) one that you said about and don’t get cells - thinking I should try the smaller circles and let the resin sit for a while and hold it further back?? - I just NEED to be more patient as I seem to just blow the white right off with no cells and looks messy!! I’ve also burned my resin with both torch and gun trying desperately to get cells. It’s a shame I can’t show you?!
    Now I’ve got better pigment and resin, I’m gonna give this a go tomorrow. Any tips for me? Prayers?
    Oh, by the way! I love it that your subtitles come up as (applause) when the heat gun is on 😂

      I did a lot of trial and error working on cells and waves, two things were big lessons for me 1. If the resin is high quality and is thicker than syrup, it is next to impossible to get cells. It’s like the white gets in there and the clear is like “you are mine and I’ll protect you from the mean lady” always heat the clear, to thin it out before you try blowing out a laced wave. And 2. When you put color in the resin and you see it sink, then your layer may be too thick - check out my cells and lacing video- I show you what I mean there. ua-cam.com/video/K4VrQLZQLYY/v-deo.html

    I’ve actually blown up two heating guns since I’ve started using resin more. I don’t know if maybe I’m getting too close to the canvas? In both cases the heating gun popped and sparked and smoked and then completely stopped working. Have you had that happen to you ever heard of that happening? I’d love to know if it’s some thing I’m doing before I wrecked the third one :-) one :-)

    love this video and is very resourceful...I'm researching to get a heat gun. I noticed your guns brand seems to begin with an 'A' but the link referenced shows Fujiwaaa by Xpeoo. May I ask of the brand you use instead?

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому

      hi, i had to change the link when Amazon ran out of stock - in this case it is the Amtake 1800W heat gun. I do actually have the fujiwa and I find it to be identical. what you are looking for in a heat gun is the ability to turn up the heat low to high 102 - 1000 degrees range, and the ability to have a low/high fan speed. additionally these heat guns I choose have the tips that come with them - but you can buy them separate if you find a heat gun you really like that has no tips.

    Does heat matter for waves or it's just about attachments? I've been trying with hair dryer, i thought heatgun causes damages on resin

    • @ResinAsYouWish
      @ResinAsYouWish  3 роки тому +1

      The heat thins the resin, and pops bubbles. It’s easier to move it when thinner. If too much heat is applied you can scorch the resin, but in this video, no resin was scorched. Heated resin is not safe to breathe - so it’s all up to you for your comfort level

    Thank you for this tutorial. I have questions regarding what pigments to use for the white waves and lacing. I've been mixing resin with the white alcohol ink by Pinata combined with the white tint by Art Resin, but it just sort of sinks and diffuses into the other colors. I've had more success with just white alcohol ink droplets directly onto the surface, and that seems to work a bit better. I've never been able to get cells but then I just have been using a standard heat gun with no special attachments. Looks as if you are just using white acrylic paint. Is that correct?
