    I know this is an old video, but do you know what effect it would have if you fitted the updated part into a system that already had the dealer "fix" fitted?
    I had the same issue, so I replaced the buzzing unit for the updated unit, and it solved the problem.
    But now it's experiencing flat spots and a DPF warning. After some research it could be a split in the boost hose, or the solenoid has failed again.
    After checking to see if the dealer "fix" had been carried out, I couldn't see it anywhere near the solenoid. However, much further along the vacuum hose, there does appear to be something that matches the image in the manufacturers "fix" fitted.
    So assuming the fix from Vauxhall was carried out, added to the updated solenoid fitted by me, could this be the cause of my issues?

    Sorry for the stupid question but i get this humming noise that tends to happen more when its warmer and it stays constant unless i dip the clutch and rev the engine or put my foot down to accelerate but i dont get any other noise like in the video there. I have an Astra J GTC with the 2.0 165cdti. Also what is this solenoid for? What is its function? Thank you

    Hia, we've had ours changed twice in as many years, after just checking under the bonnet looks like we've got the new one, which has just started to make the drone noise, and therefore we are expecting to change it again, ours seems to be happening yearly, will the additional vacuum reservoir with the new solenoid possibly cure this problem, cheers, Mark

      Calum Kinghorn yeah you can notice it at that speed as revs are low and the cabin is quieter then when you’re accelerating

    I ordered and changed the valve with the upgraded one(pierburg) and after about 2 years it seems like the problem reappeared..I think I ll put the vacuum reservoir this time.
    Had anyone else had an issue with the updated part?
    Thanks

    Is this just a straight swap or do the pipes need to be bent to allow the new part to be fitted ?

    • @innesmaclean21
      @innesmaclean21 5 років тому +1

      Paul Wright it’s a straight swap. Pipe bending only needs to be done if you’re fitting the Vauxhall’s ‘fix’ part which I mention in the video.

    I am about to change my third upgraded wastegate solenoid , in the last 18mth.

    • @innesmaclean21
      @innesmaclean21 4 роки тому

      Sketcher 68 did you buy from Vauxhall? If so get it swapped on warranty, is it definitely the right part as I noticed eBay sellers were selling the older part with the new number. The shake of the diaphragm should tell you this.

    • @sketcher68
      @sketcher68 4 роки тому

      @@innesmaclean21 i bought the first one , Vauxhall replaced it with a new one under warranty. That one went wrong within 6mth but they wouldn't replace the second one because it was only covered by the warranty on the date of the perches of the first one, which was just over a year old. So I had to pay another £76 .

    Hi did you get any dtc codes or loss of power when this happened?

    • @innesmaclean21
      @innesmaclean21 3 роки тому

      Hi, no it was just the noise. When I had a Vectra I got error codes because the vacuum pipes were prone to getting nicks in them and letting the vacuum out. If you’re getting error codes regarding vacuum pipes I would replace them. I bought silicone hoses of eBay. Just measure the internal diameter of the current hose and replace with the same. That’s if you’re getting vacuum related error codes.

    Hey there, I’ve started to have an issue with mine also. The vac line seems to keep popping off the valve, never done it in the 4years of having the car. The other day it was 3 times it’s came off after going to a couple of shops. I’ve tie wrapped it in place for now. Could this need changing also as I say never an issue until now.

    • @innesmaclean21
      @innesmaclean21 4 роки тому

      Rlait what looks worn? The rubber hose or the connector on the end of the solenoid? Maybe try ordering a replacement rubber hose. Just get silicone ones of eBay and cut to length. You’ll need to check the inner diameter of the hose to make sure you get the right one.

    • @RebirthNeon
      @RebirthNeon 4 роки тому

      Innes MacLean nothing looks worn but 2bh there is nothing to grip? I mean the hose comes off the thin silver pipe, the rubber remains on the solenoid.

    • @innesmaclean21
      @innesmaclean21 4 роки тому

      Rlait can you cable tie it on. The runner must be perished if it can’t hold onto the metal pipe

      Innes MacLean yea I pushed the small metal pipe back into the rubber hose then I put 2 small tie wraps around the rubber hose. Seems to be holding now.

      KingGamer it’s usually a give away sign that it’s not working properly. It’s not very scientific though. If you continue my get that droan noise then it may we’ll be worth changing anyway.
