I'm an SU fan. I think that we should come together "as one" more often with these botb. This only benefits those that love music and willing to share their talent with other schools. I'm familiar with the bragging rights but... If you look at this botb, you'll see beauty in these bands meaning progress is being made. There are alot of gifted students in these bands. SU for the W! I truly enjoyed this battle. That "He Loves Me", by Southern, gave me chills all over my body. I never heard a band play "Don't Look Any Further" by Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett, but they sound good playing it. One can tell they've been focusing on writing now. Good job TC and SU.

Nice battle! SU get the Win for me. Their trumpet players were on freaking BEAST mode. TC added some awesome songs to their playbook, however, their trumpets didn't match their lower brass, during key changes on certain songs. Don't get me wrong, they sound awesome, but if those trumpets parts had matched the lower brass, it would have been straight beast mode. TC has come a long way, and Mr. Bonds has done an amazing job with them.
I think it's just plain simple that the difference between every other band and southern is that their trumpets are their strongest section. Nobody's trumpets can hold a melody like su. When dega plays don't look any further, during the key change their trumpets can't hang with the lower brass to make that melody resonate. That's why southern is the standard of "power" bands...
I use to play trumpet at W.E. high school. I also been following SU from the 80's up until now. I think SU is taking a step down from "screaming" like TC. SU use to scream so much I couldn't make out what they were playing. But not this year, they are "Crisp on the note" I'm thinking that SU want to play this way where all the instrunment sounds can be heard. If SU continue to play this way, they are going to be Very hard to beat. TC is the old SU(screaming)
I listen to Dega as they came onto the scene and always said that they are loud as hell but they just need to polish those arrangements some and blend more. they have came a good way since coming out. having a program for that long to have that size is an accomplishment enough but they still need that sounds. folks can bash them all they want but I'm proud of them. they just need a little more work....... and a football team so that a Southern vs Talledaga game can really be off the chain.
TC dancers... idk who they thought they were battling...SU Dolls don´t battle they sit pretty, give basic counts, exude sex appeal and will not break a sweat (effortless) so all that carrying on wasnt necessary in my opinion. It was like the TC dancers were trying to prove a point. SU Dolls were unbothered by all that extraness they were doing.
Dega needs to learn, like SU did, everybody can't take everything up. SU been on this run since 2011 and is showing no sign of a let up. Dega just sounds like reckless abandon...
Dega is only louder because they use those DCI horns( system blue baritone/euphonium, mellophones, and prob the trumpets too) SU is just as loud and has way better arrangements... I give the W to SU overall... Dega is jus loud smh
+You Know Why Im Here that's the thing if SU switch to the euohoniums they will be louder than Degas because of the way their arrangements are set up.. they beast on the old baritones so just imagine. I prefer the baritone sound tho

Talladega is battling against a program that is consistently brilliant, entertaining, and visually appealing! Just stop! You must crawl before you walk, walk before you jog, and definitely jog before you burst into a full sprint. During this video it is clearly apparent that they are not strong enough technically to battle the Jukebox.
Okay TC is loud 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 great job. But loud doesn't make your band look good nor does it mean you winning. TC has to learn control, balance, get better arrangements, and than they can get loud. But for now low is best.

I really can't name a band that can compete with SU, nobody is doing it better, I'm so disappointed, I thought TC might give us a challenge, clearly there nowhere near on our level... This is sad tho, we have nobody else to battle, we then beat them all lol... Name another band better than SU? I'll wait....
ok.... so usually i try to be constructive in my criticism, but... as much as i respect dega for putting up a good front, the last 3 times i have heard them, the woodwinds have been terribly out of tune. almost like "we dont tune our woodwinds". i get it.... brass players run it. but when you have a woodwind soli in your arrangements. you must handle that. they have absolutely no control. the potential to be a serious threat in the band world is definitely there but they have to get control, balance and musicianship.
I can name at least five band TC would kill but Southern is not one of them....TC is damn good for a four year program they are legit but SU *sighs* they them mfen boys.....there is absolutely no band and I mean no band fuckin with SU...JSU close but they been slipping in sorry...SU arrangements *sighs again* to keep that power consistently is fuckin awesome...I wish I could march with them

+Daniel James Ok, one SU is not trying to blow. They have more control on sound. They are not over blowing like TC is doing. TC may have the large number but they can't get as clean or more less clean tone as SU. JSU already Shut them Down and So has BCU with Tone Qulity and Sound.
You have to be kidding me being loud does not mean your winning. Its the sound the blend the technical most importantly the arrangements. Being loud is ok but control is what make the the win.
