The reason why your tires look like they are fading away is something to do with the advanced weather mod. I thought at first it might have been mud on the wheels, but I think it is an effect that has to do with the advanced weather mod that you have installed.

Yup, the mod makes it so that rain and snow dirties your tires, but luckily you can turn that off in the mod options menu.

I actually have put a diesel engine in the Fury before, and it became so fast that the wheels just completely detached. If the Fury can’t handle that speed, the station wagon can’t either! I wouldn’t recommend putting oversized engines in small cars.

The game will progressively give you a lot of stops until you come closer to the end. The reason for this is because they make a stop close enough to the start that won’t take long since you only start with 0.5 liters of gas. When you progress the game assumes you found gas so the stops start spreading out from each other.
