    Let's not forget that Wall was only 19 years old and Lin had just graduated from Harvad and was the more mature player. What I don't get is why no one wanted this guy. I thought back then in summer league that he proved he was an NBA player. Honestly it was probably because he was asian.

      Agreed. His data is actually mediocre. What more previous is his mind and leadership

      he was more of ball dominant guard then, rick carlise probably thought he wouldnt fit in with his "flow" offense

      Wall 19, Jeremy 21. I don't see how maturity would play into your claim.

      youre on drugs, there's lots of asians that get scholarships. him being in California made it even easier cause the diversity. reality there was probably tons of high school player in cali, but never made it for one reason or another. give lin credit, he made use of all talent he had and he produced when he got the chance under pressure. I like lin, but youre out of touch with reality

      @@jewchao2777 basketball my guy, not his academic skills. You didn't know how asian struggles playing basketball in US. He didn't even got a D1 scholarship balling like damian Lillard. Even Yao got booed when he got drafted.

    John Wall couldn't do a thing against Lin. Who knew that Wall's kryptonite is an undrafted guy from Harvard? Lin won the crowd over the no. 1 pick in the draft. 'Nuff said.

    @chrismzac i like it, excuses for the no 1 rookie, the big player , the gifted born genius, the rookie hopeful vs the kid who was never given a chance, had to play at Harvard by getting good grades. Lead harvard to a title AND with no players around him of worth. Then getting nothing on draft night, the heartbreak i can only imagine. and then PROVING himself in the summer league by beating the number 1 pick. That is what legends are made of and now the warriors have Lin? how apt, he is a warrior

    so true. Lin has all the intangibles a good point guard should have. he's smart on and off the court. he plays smart basketball.
    it doesn't matter if you have a 100 inch vertical and can dunk a 720 but can't play defense or score in the NBA.

    I am not a Lin fan, but some of y'all are just hating on him. He is an average NBA point guard, but he has a winner's mentality. That's what differentiates him from other backup or average starting 1's in this league. I believe he can pull off stephon marbury type numbers. He's been proving to people his entire life that he's really good, and its people like you guys who shoot them down

    that's whats great about the kid. He doesn't HAVE to be in the nba, he could go work in the stock market or hell, be an nba agent! I hate to say it but Wall got OWNED! Looks like he might be a #1 bust like Oden and Kwame. Lin is like Ben Wallace, undrafted by future All-Star. Thank god he didn't go to the Lakers, Kobe would have been jealous and got him black-balled. The Warriors are good for him, he's in his home crowd chilling in C-town. He should try the Heat and really improve his game. Damn, Wall got played! Whadya expect, his opponent went to Harvard, about 150 higher IQ points.

  • @lyonwc

    @alucard9119 sorry but in case you havent noticed john wall isnt the only guy on the court. besides him, the rest of the players are backups and D leaguers. i wouldnt say wall was outplayed when he had 21 pts, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. i like lin as an asian and a basketball fan and i want him to do well, but there's no way he'll be able to drive and finish with such ease against the likes of dwight howard. he'll be a solid 6th man, but i dont think he'll be anything more than that

    1. There's no question Lin is the leader of his team out there on the floor. 2. John Wall is obviously the faster, more athletic player, but he doesn't have the guts and tenacity that Lin does. 3. The Wizards' point guard, #12, can't handle the ball. To be honest, I'd rather have Lin on my team, because I'd have a fit every time Wall threw up one of those head-scratchingly dumb shots.

    we could always be wrong and jeremy lin could be a superstar. but unlikely, most likely he'll have a solid career at best like brent barry or some other solid contributor. derrick rose is a beast - it's just that i thought he was as athletic as it got when it came to point guards. i was wrong. john wall's speed, quickeness and especially jumping ability are something i've never seen before in a point guard.

    Lin played well but I wouldn't say he was better than Wall. Wall had bad shooting percentage but still managed 10 assists. Also just from this video, it looks like Wall got stuck w/ the ball & shot clock running out a few times. No biggie though cuz its only Summer League.
    Lin showed he's good enough to deserve being drafted. Didn't show lottery pick potential though. Hope Lins turns out good, I admire him not for being Asian but for following his childhood dream & choosing Golden State.

    that's what I'm saying, it is. But..He did outplay Wall, he shot 6-12FGwall, 4-19FG(although he had some freethrow) they are already giving him the whistle without being in the league! XD I think wall will be better than him, but hey I would love to see this guy as an all star guard. it'd be a great story. I'm already rooting for him!

  • @ctom30872
    @ctom30872 14 років тому

    @PunchofGenius Wall's biggest issues are his shooting % and his turnovers. In the summer league he shot somewhere in the low 25%, and had a lot of turnovers. Definitely need to improve there if he wants to hlep the Wizards come back to glory.

  • @packers256
    @packers256 11 років тому

    That doesn't make any sense...If he doesn't get much help from his teammates, how are his FG% and assist totals supposed to be high? His goal is to win and not get good stats...He had 47 points, 7 rebs, 8 assists last night in a win. For example, everyone on the Heat has pretty good stats not just because they're very good players, but because their teammates open up the game for them.

    True, you have to take Nelson's guard favored playing style, and the fact that the Warriors have traded away quite a few players so people like Lin can have more chances to play. They've traded away Watson and Azubuike. And with that, Lin really is the 3rd guard on the team, which is almost being a 2nd guard on any other team with the Warriors playing style. I think he'll have quite a bit of playing time.

  • @bigblack7x3

    i didnt mean to be insulting, but i hate it when people overlook players like brandon jennings, john wall, and so many others and say they are 'crap' or 'shit' when they in the NBA and we arent... giving credit to jeremy lin... but it honestly is true asians overlook players that play well and just like jeremy line cos he is the same race as the, and i have no problem with liking someone of your own race, but they shouldnt say jeremy lin is better than certain players case and point john wall

  • @northcarolinaname
    @northcarolinaname 14 років тому

    @ImSoPinoyPride yea im not saying he wont develop his game, but theres plenty of athletic PG. i dont think john wall is the most athletic point guard in the league. so why is he so overhyped? he's just another athletic point guard that still needs to develop range.
