For all of those calling this awkward...after you have created a 40+ year career, made millions, and cemented yourself as one of the best comedians in history only then do you have the right to criticize. Until then to steal a line from Eddie Murphy, "Have a Coke and a smile and shut the f#ck up!"
silly, Using your logic only former Presidents of the USA can criticize the President? Former NBA stars can criticize the League? etc I guess saying f==k is the wittiest thing you will every do
I keep hearing people say Eddie Murphy was only good in the 80s, but he arguably did some of his funniest work in the 90s. "Nutty Professor", "Bowfinger", and "Life" were all very good comically; all top 10 worthy actually. Not to mention, he did a few bad movies in the 80s too. People, don't think that if a movie came out in the 80s, and it has Eddie Murphy in it, that it's automatically a classic....because that's not true at all. "The Golden Child" and "Best Defense" were awful. AND "Beverly Hills Cop 2" could've been A LOT better. However, Eddie deserves his props because he is, without a doubt, THE MOST SUCCESSFUL comedic actor in the history of SNL. For the record, he still has a tremendous amount of talent to offer, but he can't seem to find a good script. THAT'S THE KEY ladies and gentlemen. A GOOD SCRIPT. I don't care how funny an individual is, a good movie is the result of a collaborative effort. If you look at ANY comedian's filmography, you will see some bad movies. This is a fact. Plus, why so hard on Eddie? After all, he made his act last much longer than anyone else in the business. When's the last time Jim Carrey was actually funny???? C'mon! Gotta respect The Murph.
Chris rock was born to know how to perform in front of a live crowd which he solidly proved in his "Never scared" concert which was funnier than it could've ever been! Great tribute to my favorite actor by Chris rock and knew exactly what to say about the comedy legend!!

That was hilarious. Damn SNL you're killing getting the most hilarious writers who are writing the best stuff. So funny. And Eddie murphys clap game is on point. Such funny clapping.
I think Eddie Murphy is one of the only people that are from SNL
That you can't picture on SNL cause they are so much bigger than it
EXACTLY. But I LIVED for watching SNL the years he was on it.
Watching this as a primer for an icon's long overdue return. Eddie & Joe Piscopo keep SNL alive.A shame Joe gets little to no recognition.
He’ll be back on that stage Dec 21st!
Chris Rock likes to clap his hands apparently....
crap now i cant stop noticing that...thanks
Gio Borsboom he said that keeps him relaxed and focused
i thought i was the only one who noticed that :D after 2 claps i thought "oh you can clap too" :D
What is Chris Rock favorite song ..? Clap Hands by Tom Waits 😎😜👏
Murphy is legend
Chris rock literally took up 80% of the time that eddie had
And Will Smith slapped him for it.
it is just good to see him! during Eddie Murphy's time, in the entire world, no one was more fascinating withiin the realm of entertainment.
The man who gave us our band name: The Clarences!!! Eddie is a comedic genius!!! xoxo The Clarences
The amount of times Chris Rock clapped his hands together while talking...
Eddie Murphy is immortal... i can hear Donkey, Musho
the man has not aged!!!
Chris Rock nailed that intro to perfection.
Love Eddie Murphy!
For all of those calling this awkward...after you have created a 40+ year career, made millions, and cemented yourself as one of the best comedians in history only then do you have the right to criticize. Until then to steal a line from Eddie Murphy, "Have a Coke and a smile and shut the f#ck up!"
Lol well said!
Old as the crust in yo PANTIES
silly, Using your logic only former Presidents of the USA can criticize the President? Former NBA stars can criticize the League? etc
I guess saying f==k is the wittiest thing you will every do
good one..
lol yes Ryan - well said.
Eddie you're the best ever. You're the MJ of Comedy.
Finally he’s going to host SNL soon!
Every time SNL starts sinking Eddie Murphy comes back to save the day
I keep hearing people say Eddie Murphy was only good in the 80s, but he arguably did some of his funniest work in the 90s. C'mon! Gotta respect The Murph.
bow finger one of my all time favorite movies...
+SELAHPAUSE Classic
Theres something interesting when Eddie smiles its like his face starts to shine :)
When SNL is like you're old highschool, you know you made it
Chris rock was born to know how to perform in front of a live crowd which he solidly proved in his "Never scared" concert which was funnier than it could've ever been! Great tribute to my favorite actor by Chris rock and knew exactly what to say about the comedy legend!!
Eddie Murphy is the most famous, "successful" alumni in the entire history of Saturday Night Live!
I beg to differ
No one talks about vintage SNL without announcing EDDIE MURPHY....the man is a freakin living legend!!!!
Eddie in the 80s alone can topple any former SNL cast members successes as a whole..
Eddie Murphy aged beautifully 💖💖💖 n he looks really good 😍😘😘
U2 baby 😘
It's Darkness Brother!!
That tuxedo on Eddy is stunning.. just beautiful
People can talk trash about Eddie not doing much in his long awaited return to SNL but it was pretty cool to see him back on the SNL stage after so many years.
