One thing that’s not mentioned in this video is the wave is not just a high altitude thing. In some parts of the world it’s common to have wave that starts a bit below 2,000 AGL and tops out under 10k in the primary less in secondary and subsequent bars.This can happen in winds well below 20kt with good atmospheric conditions. These days can often be good for XC flight as the lower wind speeds allow for progress up wind as well as across wind.
Note to all pilots: It is important to note that asking ATC for clearance into Class A, and getting approved does NOT allow you to go into Class A. ATC Clearence is only granting you permission to enter if you can legally do so. Being legal entails you and your aircraft to be IFR rated, or the Wave Window must specify that VFR operations are acceptable.
