Sorry I missed the live stream... watching it now. Good picks everyone. Scott, I have a (mostly) unrelated but interesting story about the debut of DS9 back in the early 90's (January 3, 1993 per IMDB) but I can tell you, in detail everything that happened that evening, lol. @dannystaton- I now picture George Lucas watching 2001 and thinking, "That ship would look really cool and menacing if it weren't for that giant enema structure...."
I think Shatner was also wounded by the type casting that immediately followed the original series. It's hysterical that he is also known for his horrible covers of Rocket Man, and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. If he wasn't such a douche, Galaxy Quest might not have come to be. Eric is exactly right. So many actors, once the lights and cameras are off, their facade drops. With some, it is almost a magical ability. When I worked with Dabney Coleman, he wasn't a dick but he could suck up all the attention in a room when the cameras were rolling but when they stopped, he practically disappeared in front of you. Seriously, people walking by our set took NO NOTICE of him before and after shooting a scene. It was bizarre and cool to see.
New Colossus by Emma Lazarus ....grrrr I miss being in the live chat while watching this. BTW, Scott, no. The x-wing cannot fly the way it does in Space. You cannot fly a space ship in a vacuum, without an atmosphere, like a plane. Early on, this was cited as a big difference between the Star Trek vs Star Wars franchises. The former being seen as more possible technology, more grounded in science. where the latter is more fantasy. Since then, the lines have blurred a lot.
Scott, Scott! Conjoined! LOL! Patrick Warburton? A friend of mine always compared me to him, in how I talk, lol. Per his character in Seinfeld. Cutty? I am the culmination of Scott's missing memory, lol.
good times ty
They're coming to get you, Barbra!
Barbra: Stop it! You're ignorant!
Johnny: They're coming for you, Barbra!
Barbra: Stop it! You're acting like a child!
Johnny: They're coming for you!
😊
