It's beautiful , fast and a head turner. Hey partner. It dont matter what song george sung I love it. Never be another voice like that. Miss his voice so much. I hope all is well and u can beat that no good cancer
This was the 1st George Jones song I remember hearing as a kid in the early 80s. From that point on I was hooked. His music has been with me all over the world while I've been in the Navy and has helped me deal with long months and years away from family and friends. God bless you George Jones.
I agree 💯. Oddly enough I became a true fan of George when I was 19!! I also had the greatest luck to see him once in person. He is one in a million 💕👌💗
I had the distinct pleasure of seeing him in concert, at a really sweet, small venue near me. This place was called Ponderosa; it had a pavilion, plus people could sit out on the lawn or at picnic tables situated around the perimeter. It was a small venue, out in the middle of nowhere, in NE Ohio. Yet, they booked major country acts, each weekend of the spring, summer, right up to October, for many, many years. I saw: Randy Travis, Confederate Railroad (many times!), Charlie Daniels, Gibson Miller Band, Mark Collie, Marty Stuart, Mark Chesnutt, Sammy Kershaw, Loretta Lynn, and many more. The place was in its heyday in the early to mid nineties, when there was, simultaneously, a revival of traditional sounding country music, (it had become essentially elevator music in the eighties.) Anyway, this was 1996, and the show was supposed to be Loretta Lynn and George Jones. However, Loretta's husband had fallen ill, and she was by his side at the hospital. So, George got up and played one of the longest sets I've ever experienced. I know it had to be over two hours, if not closer to three. It was like he was honoring both his friend Loretta, and the fans who had turned out that day. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended in my life. I don't think he omitted a single favorite song of his that anyone could name. My future husband attended with me; it was his first country concert, and he wound up enjoying it as much as I did. I'm so gratified that I got to see the Possum before he sadly passed away. He is one of the greats, along with so many others of his era, and to paraphrase the song, "who's going to fill their shoes?" 🤗💖🙏
I'm a rocker at heart. I always loved the old possum though. He stoped loving her today always makes me a little teary eyed. Mr. Jones had a great voice in country.
I'm a rocker too, but country music has become an obsession lately. Rock & Roll & Country were joined at the hip. It was just as much, or more of an influence on R&R as the blues.
This is for the people who are young know my dad has took me in since I was 3 days old so I’m still he with him and my mon I love them both and George Jones you the best singer ev errr
