This video is a great example of why you have to shut down all of the negative talk we all do to ourselves, IMO. It's humbling to know that Smith can be as confused by conditions as anyone. He jumps from sliding at what, board 30 over to board 10?? That's not his game and if he had a release like Duke he could have played the far right lane. A spinner release is fun to watch, but there is a reason you don't see many international bowlers applying and mastering this release. Still a fan of Smith

u can go a try that pattern urself, its a semi short and very light oiled 36-38 ft shot, with a big oob, and lots of carry down in the middle due to massive amount of that "helicopter or ufo" style.
damn, that's not the Robert Smith I remember back in the U.S. the pattern looked tough, but it's not like he hasn't bowled on tough patterns before. Why hook at your head pin spares? Go straight for the spares, then regroup for the strike shot
I'm not saying that it wasn't challenging, I'm just saying that I know Smith could've done better. He won a U.S. open, which also has a big OOB. He didn't seem as serious as he needed to be in this match.

@SuperMoomooz even with the best pattern or PBA pattern on these lanes, it will still be screwed as the lane topography sucks..

Maybe if Smith wasn't on 900 Global and on brunswick/storm and roto grip, he wouldn't lose that much...>.>
