- 👉 Join me as we take a look at @powkiddy3810's RGB20SX handheld. This is a Rockchip RK3566 powered retro handheld and comes equipped with the same 4" 1:1 aspect ratio display that we saw with another Powkiddy release, the RGB30. Similar to that handheld, the RGB20SX is a Linux based handheld that ships with JELOS out of the box. We will explore all that the RGB20SX has to offer. There will be a lot to cover from an unboxing, a teardown of the RGB20SX, an emulation showcase with Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, PICO-8 and more! Gameboy Color, Gameboy and Game Gear roms mainly. I already have the Transparent Blue B20SX that I preordered. I like the B20SX so much that I went to GoGameGeek and ordered the Solid White Edition B20SX.
I messaged PowKiddy, requesting them to make us a "B20XX." The same as the B20SX except no analog sticks, front facing stereo speakers in place of analog sticks and a battery compartment door.
Hearing Crystal talk about it so positively, I've been contemplating it. Thanks for this video Rob, this could very well be the nudge I needed to indulge! 😊
If you don't have a handheld with the 1:1 screen, I definitely recommend trying it out! The screen is GORGEOUS. BTW, Anbernic has the RG Cube coming out in case you're interested in that.
This is the one I've been waiting for. I bought RG505 to learn that I don't like horizontal or android, then I tried Miyoo Mini Plus but it was too small so I sold it and ordered this one.
This is why I love that we have options since not everyone prefers the same thing!

I get why they did it, but I would have loved to see PowKiddy really lean into the form factor and not have the sticks, and have much more lower profile shoulder buttons, really leaning into the GB/GBC platforms
I agree with this! Have you seen some of the community mods for it? They're pretty cool!
They're trying to hit all the check boxes. Especially with the RK3566 processor.
@@retrotechdad I’ve seen one or two on Reddit. I think it’s a good start but a full new case mod would probably be ideal (I hate the stupid face that the semicircular button makes lol)

I've been using ArkOS on my RGB20SX and my battery percentage reading has been accurate :)
I think I prefer RGB30, landscape handheld more comfortable to use for my hand than vertical like GameBoy, and if I want more power I think RG cube is better option for play emulator.

I think the RG Cube is really going to eat Powkiddy's dinner, once again. Same delightful screen but a significant bump in SOC. Thanks for the great critique lad, this is one I've been giving some thought to since the release of the first unit with this aspect ratio.
