Hello, fellow Click viewer. I've noticed that UA-cam really likes pushing furry content towards people that may or may not actually enjoy it. (personally I do enjoy it, though lol)
I've never been fond of the idea of sewing each toe individually, same with fingers with puffier handpaws, but I think it's a labour that will turn out for the better in the end!! A day or two of painstakingly sewing toes for a lifetime of good looking hand and footpaws that are durable and comfortable too, I think it's worth it in the end; as sewing isn't even bad at all and is even enjoyable when you're watching a video or listening to music in the process! I'm also enjoying your choice of music for this, it's not at all often I keep my volume on for how-to videos; I worry about patterning things right, but aside from that I think my skill is up there in being ready to make something like this and I have the materials too!
1. I agree, I think sewing the fingers of handpaws is my LEAST favorite part of the process.... with feetpaws at least it's large enough I can sew with my machine and do it faster. lol. 2. I'm so glad you like the music! i'm the same way, I ALWAYS turn the music off when watching others' videos because I dont like the music choice, always so loud and hyper lol. glad you like my more relaxing soft stuff. :) 3. patternmaking is a complex skill itself! if you keep working at it your brain will eventually understand the minutiae !

i will end up making these for a husk cosplay (hazbin hotel) for a cosplay convention, this will probably be a one use tho, lol, i will replace the bottom of the feet with foam
youre so welcome!! honestly feetpaws are quicker and easier to make (for me) than handpaws, if that makes you any less intimidated. they come together much easier!
think you for this ideia its very helpfull because i did now what to use shoes to make out of feet paws use saved my life now i dont need to but shoes to wast all my money your a light saber
Ooh, good thinking! I've seen premade silicone pawpads but I've also recently seen someone try painting silicone/rubber coating onto existing soft beans and seeing if it'll work. I'll need to bookmark that and see how it progresses.
Instead of polymer clay, monster clay would be better for making mockups. It doesn't need to be baked, you heat it up either in the microwave or with a heat gun to sculpt with it and once you're done you can just reheat it to reuse it! It will save you on clay
I considered using monster clay, but guess what - these make great pattern weights when youre done! and I do need more pattern weights. Other than that, did you have any other comments? I think if you're going to criticize the vid, I'd also like you to compliment something to be polite lol. :3
I probably won't ever make proper sockpaws, but giant floofy slippers are absolutely on my list! A question: when you glue the sock to the bottom pad, does it have to be hot glue or would something else work, say contact adhesive (F2/E6000)?
I think you could do a contact adhesive! if you were worried about feeling the beads of hot glue under your foot tho, that's actually why I also added the thin layer of flex foam under the boot, so that there's foam between your foot and the hot glue! I don't feel it at all myself.
LOL i totally understand!! I would double check if contact adhesive works ok on foam since it's got so many holes and isnt a dense surface, but i think its worth a shot!
this is so amazing!! for the liner inside, after its put in is it able to be flipped out for hand cleaning and drying, or do you think its more immobile than that after all is said and done? Thanks for the amazing and concise tutorial
Because the 1" upholstery foam it's glued to is not glued to the fur backing, you can pull it out! though I would worry about the stuffing moving around now that the liner isn't there to keep it in place, and if you put the liner back in the stuffing might end up in thewrong places/ stuck under the 1" foam rather than in the toes. it's something you gotta deal with if you make all sewn up feet like this! i do also make my removable shoe feetpaws with zippers to take the stuffing out for easier washing.
Thanks for the video!! I honestly just watch your content on loop because its so calming to watch, but this is a tutorial for something i've never looked into before so its like a bonus this time haha

Awesome tutorial! Very helpful. I have a question. I don't know all that much about fursuit making but im wonder how come no one seems to use an elastic for the cuffs of the fursuit paws? Is there a reason? Or is the material you used elastic? I just thought wouldn't an elastic keep it better fitted around your leg. Basically just want to know if there's a reason I shouldnt use it
Honestly I'm not sure why people don't use it! a reason people use fleece/minky/bias tape is to cover and protect the raw fur edge, but yea nobody really adds elastic inside the cuff. The feet do stay up pretty fine tho! the leg openings here came out a little bigger than I wanted but theyre still ok.
