Hi Marc, I noticed you pan the instruments using the Stereo Combined Panner instead of the usual Stereo balanced Panner. Any particular reason for this?
Short answer is because when using the strereo balanced panner you are not really "positioning" the sound, stereo combined panner gives you much control and you don't lose any information in L/R channels while positioning. Here is a better explanation with some examples: ua-cam.com/video/8qauiOZG19o/v-deo.html
Hmm roger I get it from Mastering albums BUT when I compose soundtrack/cinematic the different libraries can give the sound timbre-depth. I often copy/paste a string line from Albion One to Epic Strings or even Albion Solstice strings then throwing one good reverb on it all. (A transient master makes this easier).
Hi Marc, should we do the same process if we use the same library for all instruments ? For instance, I compose everything with BBCSO… so it has been recorded in the same place, and there is the same reverb on each instrument! What should we do in that case? Thanks! #iamacomposer
Do you ever send everything to one or two reverbs? I like doing instrument specific ones and then sending everything to Spaces and a digital reverb and just blending a tiny tiny bit in
#iamacomposer Ever find that using hall, plate, and room reverb in the same mix causes problems? I'm guessing not since you just did in this video- does this usage apply to only certain situations or do you do this all the time? Thanks for sharing your methods.
There Is a UA-cam Channel called: " Beat Kaufmann" . In this Channel, Mr. Kaufmann explaines , how he uses, Early Reflection, combined with a Reverb Tail. This is a mindblowing concept. Mist watch
if you are mixing CSS and CSB into reverbs do you leave room mics on still? Have you seen the new Berlin Teldex reverb by Samplicity? It is really new. I have one reverb on my list I want is Eareverb 2. And also Seventh Heaven, Cinematic Rooms is nice from the same company as well, my friend has both of them, even works for rock music too very well.
@@aleksandarstojceski3139 cool, never heard of Exoverb. I see it is new and on PluginBoutique. Samplicity is new. Cory Pelizarri did a good video on Eareverb 2 he seemed to like it. Have you tried the 2C Audio plugins he is using here in the video. Precedence and Breeze 2 in combination with each other supposed to work really good, not many videos on it, but there is one guy on here that has some demos using it and explanation.
#iamacomposer Great video! I recently bought Fabfilter Pro-R Reverb and was wondering what your thoughts were on it, and if you use it as a room or hall reverb?
#iamacomposer Great video! I have been going nuts with reverbs, running everything through an EW spaces scoring stage, then sending the 5 group buses to 5 more EW spaces So. Cal. Hall FX channels plus a finishing algorithmic reverb for the tail. I think I’ll go back to just a stage reverb and an algorithmic reverb for simplicity and not cooking my CPU.
Work with Marc & Chris Young (Spider-Man). Grow as a composer and get career opportunities. Small group. Apply to MOMENTUM here: bit.ly/mmmylc
Is Chris Young a real Spider- Man? Damn, I always thought it was Peter Parker))
0:42 This info is not quite correct. Both Altiverb and Spaces are convolution reverb.

I’d love to know the answer to this as well

@@CinematicComposing Thank you!
Hi, could you list the plugins you mentioned in the video? Many thanks

Sir, Can I know the libraries you were using?
#imacomposer well not really but awesome content. Do you use any liquidsonics reverbs?

great tutorial.
Another great video! Thanks Marc! #iamacomposer

Skip the earverb. Samplicity or exoverb is much better.

Love your content, really useful stuff...and I've been composing for over 25 years!!! #iamacomposer
