Eyyy, it's mah bois!!! Love playing as the CCAF on tabletop. I often emulate their chronic shortage of heavier mechs by sticking mostly to lights and meds, even in tournaments. I remember having to face a heavy and an assault with only 2 meds. But by the Chancellor, we never back down, and I gave as good as I got.
As a proud, dirty Cappie, I love the vibe of the CCAF. Underestimated and outmatched for much of its history, but never truly broken, and always coming back for another round despite their enemies' best efforts to put it down. I've always been fond of medium mechs and lighter-heavies, which the CCAF has historically relied on (yay Crusader, yay Catapult, yay Vindicator), and the need for their non-mech forces to be some of the best in the Inner Sphere (because they had to be) is a great bit of flavor.
Checking both the description and the runtime, this is gonna be a Heavy-class video. “Force Leader” is a title markedly reminiscent of...say, the terminology of the ruling regime in modern Beijing. “Senior General” was entirely abolished, for only the ranking at one level below that former general title, then? I keep reading Chancellor Weng-Liao's retaliatory ranking as “Señor Kernel”...but that REALLY wouldn't make sense. Though it would certainly be punishing. “Steadfast loyalty” is very important...uh huh. The battle image after 5:30 is particularly impressive. Dynamic poses and great-looking B-&-W art. I certainly appreciate the crowd and populace pictures for substance to this universe, and even that headquarters high-rise building seen after 7:25. Though I wasn't current at the time in question, I remember your overview video, GDN. Due to having watched and rewatched it. So, I thank you for providing long-BattleTech-removed me with more in-depth context via this series. And depth it is. There are many parallels with the Capellans to our reality, both in the '80s during BattleTech's inception and obviously, now. Swords and a tiger for a badge. Cheeky end-of-video insert about a “tiger” of your own, Narrator. The actual Capellan military seems to be potentially capable of higher performance if not held back by self-imposing government. Its academies sound as though they've got it all covered, for a military society. Always BOTH informative and entertaining. There is only one GDN, who ranks above Chancellor, in my opinion. Thank you for beginning this fascinating coverage. Until you next revisit the Inner Sphere, Narrator, have a healthy and terrific rest of this week.
I've gotten my digital hands on some and they are indeed a treasure trove of BT lore. If I keep getting decent views on them, I'd like to make videos on each great house's history, civilian life, unique regiments and more.
@@GrimDarkNarrator That promises to be an interesting series. Though I do not envy your research on the subject. It seems like a daunting task as there is probably so much data on the subject, but it will be in so many places, all in bits and pieces. Still, if anyone can sus it out, it will be you. I really wish Sven Vander Plank used you in his videos. I have admonished him for overlooking you. You have beeen at this for a long time and you are very much appreciated in my neck of the woods. My cousin got into battletech after listening to you reading Mercenary's Star.
@GrimDarkNarrator I'm not saying I don't like 40k lore. I'm just saying, the writing isn't as good. It's very simplistic. Yet battletech lore, has build up and outside influences within it.
I don't curiosity, you being a war narrator for game systems. which game system has the most fluff/lore? I've been a BattleTech fan since the late 80s, so I know how much lore that game has. But I'm wondering of all the game systems you cover, which one has the most?

Although now they have the ability to spam heavies as well

Would you have any idea how many home guard troops would be on an average capellan world? Would it be company sized? Or a regiment?

1:06 The Grim Dark Narrator would make reading the phone book sound good 🙂.
That's very kind of you to say, given that my most common criticism is that I sound monotone.
Fantastic idea to cover militaries in general! Most of the tematic sourcebooks are old, and hard to come by.

Thank you for your content!!! You are one of my favourite Battletech content creators!!!😊😊😊😊👍👍👍
Thank you.
thank you for the work you put into the channel , your audience appreciates you sir
I appreciate that!
Please with sugar on top, make more of these videos. :-) i've happily listened to your BT lore videos for years. Keep it up!
I already made military overviews for the major factions. Next I'll try focusing on civilian life in the Inner Sphere.

I imagine the Capellan military to be a mix of the PLA and the old Imperial Chinese armies, with some Soviet/Tsarist Russia thrown in.
CCAF and FWLM are my two favorites. Hopelessly dysfunctional, constant insanity, somehow still punching above it's weight
Very good video, your social rating have been increased. Here is your rice bowl and State-provided Capellan wife!
If only my state would provide me with a capellan wife.
My mercenary group worked for house Liao most of the time with kurita a close 2nd. Aren't those inverted triangles
Battletech forces lore videos. I approve.
Really enjoy this format of video. Excited for more!
More to come!
YAAS more of these!
Great video!
Thanks!
Battletech lore is so much better than 40k. It has depth, not just deus ex machina.
I think they both rich and unique in their own ways.

Pretty good stuff 👍

For the Confederation !!!
For the chancellor!

2 capellans jumped off a cliff to see who would land first. Who won? Humanity won that's who. Treacherous capellans.

@@wiaf8937 that's what I thought. but I've only read like two novels from 40k. and I've never really gone that deep into the game.
Probably 40k, but Battletech is a heavyweight too.
