What are some of the BIGGEST MISTAKES you need first time travelers/IJGB to Nigeria making? Leave a comment below
Sassy, we love Nigeria! For me the most essential thing/tip I have for when going to Nigeria is to always take a medicine bag that most especially includes stomach medication, band-aids, and malaria medication. It will be a life saver especially if your stomach is not used to the Water used in Nigeria. I go to Nigeria pretty often (at least once a year) and this is one thing I will never go without.
Always carry your own toilet tissue ( paper) whenever you step out of your house. Even the so call international airport has no tissue in the bathrooms.
See i was going to pack wet wipes, so i wouldn't have to worry about carrying tissue
Urgh
Very true
Avoid wearing expensive jewelry or flashy items in public and never ever "show off". This along with wearing expensive gear will make you a prime target for thieves or people who are up to no good. Sassy, we love Nigeria o!
Hello I do tip whenever I go out to eat I go to Nigeria every 2yrs and when I do go back to eat again at the same place they treat me so nice
Sassy we love Nigeria, I visited Nigeria September 2, 2022 and thanks to your videos and the grace of God, I was able to navigate through the airport with practically no stress. Your tips and practical information was a huge help. My biggest mistake was not having enough small bills for tipping and I only had usd not naira. Other than that I loved the food, markets, climate (it was very mild on my visit) the people, architecture, everything ! I can’t wait to go back to Nigeria.
Hi sassy, I am from the United States have been Lagos twice to visit my fiancé. One of the things you did not mention is the airport can be stressful. Everyone from the military to the police to airport clerks will try to shake you down for some cash. I have learned to answer them by saying I only have credit cards and that usually stops them in their tracks. By the way you are right, the food in Lagos is delicious.
Thank you for sharing. Maybe I will do a video on this issue ❤️
Thank you, that is good to know. They are brazenly very corrupt from the head man to the doorman.
Sassy, we love Nigeria 💚 Would love to see a video on extra precautions and useful tips for foreigners who stand out a lot more than other africans who visit. Eg using the phrase "i no be JJC", navigating the airport etc. I'm a bit scared to come as a solo white female traveller 😅
Sassy we love Nigeria. My big mistake was eating street vendor roasted corn after spending 20 years in the States. Omg 😱. Thank God I packed Imodium and Zofran. It wasn't a pretty experience. So, please if you have been out of Naija for a minute, kindly stay away from those street vendors until your stomach can take it. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣 This is very good advice. That abroad stomach is no match for Nigerian street food
Also never video or take pictures of people you don’t know or don’t have their permission. It’s a big no no!!! The local young man saw me taking pictures of a man selling straw baskets and he respectfully paid the vendor as a way to show respect because I did not know. I was deeply impressed with the young man for doing that without making me feel bad. 💗
Interesting

Sassy I love Nigeria, visited last February and planning another trip now. Wonderful people!
Thanks For Great Info.Well Done
You’re welcome 🙏🏾
Sassy we LOVE Nigeria ❤
We were always with a Nigerian friend when buying anything. Always keep money and important things in a waist pouch . House help will go through your baggage. Next time I will request a safe in house I stay in. We were provided a driver and housekeeper that cooked meals by company.
Thanks Sassy Funke for this lovely piece of information,
One common mistake among Nigerian been too's, not all of them but few is that they have this arrogant, rude and lousy attitude and most often tell a hell of lies to unsuspecting people.
A lot of them board airplanes creating scenes, making noise, claiming what they are not and making fools of themselves in front of people who are well exposed.❤️ Sassy I love Nigeria 🇳🇬
❤️ We love Nigeria 🇳🇬
Though I am creole I am proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
How are you creole and Nigerian?
Sassy I (we) LOVE NIGERIA!!
Sassy, we love you.

Sassy we love nigeria
☺️☺️
Sassy, we love Nigeria! Instead of mosquito repellent, would getting a malaria shot such as Mosquirix help, or maybe a combination of the two? My thin Oyinbo skin would have no chance against hungry Nigerian mosquitos🦟🦟🦟...
I would definitely do a combination 😀
love the people, love the food, be prepared for scotch bonnet peppers!!! they will kill you!!!! in airport you feel herded down rows to immigration and it is hot after getting off plane!!!! , but fairly easy to get thru, getting out is harder more searches!! everyone in airport seemed to have a birthday the next day lol just kept wishing them a Happy Birthday!! trying food is a must!!! be careful of street vendors and carry Imodium!!! The people we met in Lagos were awesome, so friendly! went to markets, I just feel like they saw a white person and raised the prices, not realizing I know to haggle or a friend just went back later and bought it!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes!!!! I carry my battery pack with me.
I love Nigeria

Don't drink tap water, big mistake.
And yes, I love Nigeria and Nigerians. Sweet people.
I love my Nigerian husband and his awesome family and friends. ❤
Happy to hear this ❤️
Knowing a lot of Afrikans, I'm sure they worship you. I learned years ago before I get invested in any of these families to investigate what foreign groups have infiltrated them.
@@shakkay.3899
There is no infiltration in his family. Or his friends.
I got blessed.
@@shakkay.3899
I will say this. I told him if he turns out bad....it will be hell to pay bc I have noooo time to waste anymore.
Tie him to a tree in the woods and let the mosquitoes get him.
Haha
Haahaa we definitely love Nigeria no questions 😂
I got bit by a spider at a restroom at a zoo. Its cool and wet around the toilets. Spiders love that. I had to get a lot of antibiotic shots in my behind and rest for 2 weeks. Half my trip.
So girls beware.
Oh no… thanks for sharing this.
Never sit on a raw toilet seat 🤢
The travel seems like it's Soo fun, but question... What is being done about the "cashless economy" when people come from US to Naija?? Where can one go once they get off the plane to exchange their high value USD money to get their best bang for the naira?? I know @SassyFunke you mentioned a place in Eko Hotel in one of your videos, is that option still viable??
At the airport apparently
In Nigeria your mobile phone battery runs out faster because your mobile is constantly looking for coverage, the mobile coverage antennas are of very low quality... and if your mobile is 5G your battery runs out even faster.
What a lie!
Is there any COVID rules now in March/may/June 2024.
The agoyins are still in there?
Sassy we have a love/hate relationship with Nigeria 😂❤
😂😅😊
Mine was the worst.. I bought a yogurt from a street vendor on my way to suleja Market in Abuja.. omo, I was forced to use the public toilet in the market. Oh my God I had to troway away my boxer in the pit toilet cos it was messed up, as if that wasn't enough I flush it with the only bucket water giving to me omo the boxers refused to flush jesus I had to deep my hand to bring it out . The hausa guy was already angry that I'm wasting time and water. Jeez, let me just stop here. The flies alone was something else
Omgggggg 😂
Coming from the US, where should I exchange my dollars for Naira?
Not trying Nigeria food is a crime against humanity
🤣🤣🤣
As in!! 🤣🤣🤣
