I'm glad you 'got it' when Meat Loaf said "So now I'm praying for the end of time!", you'd be surprised how often that moment goes by unnoticed by reactors the first time they hear this song, and it's the best part - the part everybody is waiting for, to see your reaction 👍😁
The actual female vocal is from Ellen Foley's album vocal. The girl in the video, Karla DeVito, did the Bat Out of Hell tour and this was taken from the rehearsals for that tour. Karla is a great singer in her own right but Ellen's vocals were simply legendary. Meat Loaf (RIP) was a heldentenor (heroic tenor) and was offered a lot of money to sing opera. Ellen was Billie on the original Night Court. Ellen and Karla sing together in the song I'm Just Happy To Be Here, available on UA-cam. Meat Loaf was Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and made a deal to show this promo video (not a concert) before every showing of TRHPS. When he auditioned for The Rocky Horror Show play, the writer, Richard O'Brien (Riff Raff) told him to not worry about singing all the words to Hot Patootie because no one had been able to do it. Meat Loaf said, "I can sing them." He then proved it every night of the play and in the movie. Bat Out of Hell is one of the highest selling albums in history.
"Jack Black vibes" LOL, did you know in one movie Meatloaf played Jack Blacks dad??? You two have had the best reaction to this song, which is my second favorite of all time.
The album Bat Out of Hell was one of the best of the loaded 70's. A concept album. First about love.. Second about time. If you listen to the whole album, "Paradise" just tells you part of the story. The final song, "For Cryin Out Loud," sings "For cryin out loud, you know I love you."
Nobody mentioned this yet, so the narration in the middle was former baseball player Phil Rizzuto describing how he went from 1st base to 2nd base, 3rd, and then scored. Of course, Phil never knew what he really was describing until after the song was released.
On the Australian music quiz show, Spicks and Specks, Meatloaf, when asked why he didn't turn up to accept his Grammy, said that he wanted an Oscar first. So, yeah, he was a very theatrical singer.
BAT OUT OF HELL was a Rock Opera, with a LP vinyl recording released in Oct., 1977 - over 40 million copies sold worldwide, and still sells abt. 200k copies/year. You should also react to I'D DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE (BUT I WON'T DO THAT) from the sequel BAT OUT OF HELL II: BACK INTO HELL, 1993.
I've enjoyed watching you two for awhile, but been loving meatloaf since college. I almost lost it watching your reactions! You two got to check more out, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, I won't do that, rip meat loaf. Prayers for a great new year for you 2 from Northern Michigan!
Welcome to the world that Meatloaf created (in my opinion) of Rock Opera!!🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯 This song was my first wife’s and I (RIP) song. Always enjoy when people get to the baseball part of the song it’s great when the lightbulb goes off!! You guys are awesome!! Subscribed
It's called a performance. One of the greatest singer song writers. AND YOU never heard of him? Bat Out of Hell Album, one of the best ever. He was also an accomplished actor with many films to his credit.
I swear I already saw y'all react to this! 😂😂😂 I don't think I did, but even if I did, so worth it. Lol. Probably just my high mind messing with me. 😂😂😂
Great reaction guys, Meat Loaf was a true performer. My personal favorite is Two Out Of Three, Ain’t Bad. Another dramatic live performance with a bitter sweet story and tone.
You guys pretty much got the idea; this is known as "Theatre Rock", a sub genre of Rock that includes theatrics, making each song its own little drama/act.
Meatloaf was the most unlikely rock star of all time. He looked more like a professional wrestler. But this album was a huge hit and absolutely legendary. Sadly, we lost him to Covid during the pandemic. Meatloaf has several legendary songs in addition to Paradise By the Dashboard Light.
My then high school girlfriend and I were in my car listening to this IRL. Everything was the same except we finished the song, didn't get married, but "went all the way" so didn't have to deal with that. We're still FB friends. His real name was Marvin Lee Aday. He got his nickname by his dad when he was a baby. He was pink and looked like a blob of meat. He had many movie appearances over the years. Including but not limited to "Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Fight Club" and "Wayne's World". This song was written by the late Jim Steinman He also played keyboard on this song. I wish I could have seen them in concert but sadly it never happened. I still have the "Bat out of hell" LP BTW they were BOTH regretting their commitment to each other. "It was long ago, and it was far away. So much better than it is today".
Meatloaf made several guest appearances on Ghost Hunters too, he was also so happy to do it, he was like a school kid every time just having a blast. He was such an amazing human being.
Repeat after me... "Rocky Horror Picture Show"... if possible go live the experience first... come back to the orignial sound track and listen again... Eddie was played by Meatloaf... 'Meat was shaped by stage performance and did it right. RIP 'meat, we loved your shows brother.
Welcome to the world of Rock Opera! Check out Jim Steinman's songwriting genius with Air Supply, Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler, Fire Inc and Jim's own album, "Bad for Good"
lol back in the 70’s & early 80’s cats were the size of boats & very few had bucket seats, they had bench seats in the front…. Made making out really easy!!
Paradise By The Dashboard Light song/video is from 1977!!!! That is why the lighting is washed because its almost 50 years old!!!! I was 4 years old in 1977!!!
Believe it or not this song was banned on some radio stations because of the sexual content. Times change. Decades later, Meat Loaf's daughter came home from school to tell her dad that his song was being used at her school's sex ed class to teach about responsibility and consequences of young relationship choices and things that are easily promised and easily broken.
You have to do I Would Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf next time, one of the greatest music videos ever made. Was the most expensive one for a very long time too.
Ive said this once and ill say it a milluon more time to 1st tume Meatloaf reactors... Jack Black got everything from Meatloaf... Meatloaf got nothing from him lol
Why does everyone do the same reaction meatloaf did a lot of other songs I guess you only do songs people pay you to do too bad because it's all coming back to me by meatloaf is great

true
When you recognize the baseball analogy? Reaction gold . . .
rofl....
Yankees great and Hall Of Famer Phil Rizzutto on the call. They never told him the context of what he was reading!
"Jack Black vibes" LOL, did you know in one movie Meatloaf played Jack Blacks dad??? You two have had the best reaction to this song, which is my second favorite of all time.
Pick Of Destiny
Tenacious D's "The Pick Of Destiny".

Jack Black is the first one to admit that he's the second generation of Meatloaf. Meatloaf actually played Jack's dad in one of his movies.
Meatloaf's background was in musical theater and he carried that over to his rock performances.
Meatloaf was also a theater actor hence the performance , later he also starred in Hollywood movies
My favorite role of his is in the movie Leap Of Faith with Steve Martin playing a crooked travelling evangelist.
Nobody mentioned this yet, so the narration in the middle was former baseball player Phil Rizzuto describing how he went from 1st base to 2nd base, 3rd, and then scored. Of course, Phil never knew what he really was describing until after the song was released.
And as I recall, he was...not pleased.😆
Holy Cow!!
On the Australian music quiz show, Spicks and Specks, Meatloaf, when asked why he didn't turn up to accept his Grammy, said that he wanted an Oscar first.
So, yeah, he was a very theatrical singer.
👍👍Super cool🔥🔥performance. One of my favorites by MEAT LOAF. 🖖❤

This is pure classic rock. RIP Meat.👍

This whole album is an iconic classic
Pure street theater. When this came out every woman I knew owned this album just for this song. Much credit to Jim Steinman for the production.
Great reaction guys, Meat Loaf was a true performer. My personal favorite is Two Out Of Three, Ain’t Bad. Another dramatic live performance with a bitter sweet story and tone.
Meatloaf was also in both "Fight Club" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
You guys pretty much got the idea; this is known as "Theatre Rock", a sub genre of Rock that includes theatrics, making each song its own little drama/act.
I never heard of Theatre rock. Steinman called it Rock Opera. And that it was indeed.
Saw Meatloaf in concert at the Roxy 1978 I was 19 next, I’d Do anything for Love. Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad
They appeared together in the film Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny, Meatloaf was Jack Black’s father in the film
My then high school girlfriend and I were in my car listening to this IRL. Everything was the same except we finished the song, didn't get married, but "went all the way" so didn't have to deal with that. We're still FB friends.

BTW they were BOTH regretting their commitment to each other.
"It was long ago, and it was far away. So much better than it is today".
Meat was his nickname from birth. Loaf was add by his football coach after he stepped on the coach's foot with his cleats.
Dont forget,Meat Loaf plays Jack Blacks Father in KICKAPOO !
Very funny y'all, loved the laughing at praying for the end of time.
Welcome to the world of Rock Opera! Check out Jim Steinman's songwriting genius with Air Supply, Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler, Fire Inc and Jim's own album, "Bad for Good"
Best reaction to this song I’ve seen in quite a while. You two are adorable.
Meatloafs best it's all coming back to me now!!!😊
I think the makeup was partly to show it was prom night and also stage theater . Meatloaf was in Rocky Horror Picture Show - that had crazy makeup.
It's from the movie Rocky Horror Pucture Show. Classic cult movie from the 70's. Look it up!
Her reaction at the end was priceless. LOL.
Despite being on of the major forces in writing and performing rock. Meatloaf described himself as an actor who sometimes played a singer.
Meatloaf didnt write rock, he didnt write his own music.
Jim Steinman wrote all of Meatloafs songs. He wrote for Celine Deion as well.
Welcome to Meat Loaf.
If you want more try
Bat out of Hell and I would do anything for Love (but I won't do that)
Best theatrical live video.
I loved your reactions. You should continue with Objects In The Rear View Mirror.
Yo BeamNG in the talking parts xD my son approves!
lol back in the 70’s & early 80’s cats were the size of boats & very few had bucket seats, they had bench seats in the front…. Made making out really easy!!

Truest love song ever written 😂😂
The Lord has a good sense of humor.
a cautionary tale
Great reaction, next is his " Two Out Of Three anit Bad". The question before the song is what is the two out of three?
The whole "Bat out of Hell" album was great.
You should listen to this again, but pay attention to the piano. AWESOME
Careful what you wish for
Have a listen to Nightwish 👍👀
AMEN, THE GLORY IS FOR OUR SAVIOUR JESUSCHRIST, YOU TWO ARE A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE THAT WAS BORN TOO LATE TO THIS MUSIC.
Washed out? This is concert footage from almost 50 years ago with stage lighting.
Is this a repost? I'm fairly certain that I saw this reaction a while back. Oh well. Another excuse to listen to Meat Loaf.
his name is robert paulson
Check out Tenacious D opening movie song Kickapoo you'll Meatloaf in it
Good Comment save your bodies!!!
great reaction, but lose the car stuff
No! I want to know where they got it from . . . hehe . . .
Video insert should be a bit smaller. Cuts off the lower portion of your faces 😁
Jack Black openly and proudly admits Meatloaf heavily influenced him.
You have to do I Would Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf next time, one of the greatest music videos ever made. Was the most expensive one for a very long time too.
Thats what happens when you let your hormones make decisions for you 😂😂
Can you have a react to Twenty One Pilots - Overcompensate?
It's a personal thing but I find it odd that you use TF in a title when you portray yourselves as a Christian alternative.
Ive said this once and ill say it a milluon more time to 1st tume Meatloaf reactors... Jack Black got everything from Meatloaf... Meatloaf got nothing from him lol
Alitt
TF? no good
Why does everyone do the same reaction meatloaf did a lot of other songs I guess you only do songs people pay you to do too bad because it's all coming back to me by meatloaf is great
