have you ever used a "32 X 5" popping float leader with 3/4 oz weight on it? that's good for targeting fish from the mid to upper surface near those rocks you can get those from Walmart for like $2
This is all the way south of mission beach you can go. There are two jetties side by side and yes this is the Northern one of the two but I was mainly referring to the beach.
finally, a mission beach jetty vid on fishing, dude i walked to the end last summer for 4 hours fishing and didn't catch anything, i had squid, gulp worms, shrimp, and lures, i guess i had plain bad luck that day or water quality was bad or fished on a full moon cycle. nice croakers though, did you salt your bait shrimps btw?
It was frozen shrimp from fishermans landing but honestly you could use anything from live mussels to getting your own salted shrimp. The croakers love to go after the shrimp even when I was up near Torrey pines people were catching croakers using the same shrimp meat.
Some dude caught a huge black sea bass out there he had to swim out to release it its actually pretty crazy I think it was like a 14 pounder it's one the older yt videos out there. ...... that spot is legendary........
@@antman619 Bros, I was chatting with divers that go on the end area of that Jetty for recreational dives and spear fishing, they told me to cast left (south) there are lots of calicos, and Sheep Heads! Gonna get my New license this March 2024. But what sucks about the end of that Jetty, a few years back the Army Corps of Engineers with their barge installed those massive boulders of 180* at end.
I fished that same spot. Nothing but gold fish for me. :(
I thought your croaker was fully gone at 8:47 ahahahah.
Every time someone tells me about jetty fishing anywhere, "good shoes, watch the slippery rocks" you... "Let me grab my flip flops" 🤣
Stubborn me for real hahah. Learned a good lesson.
Damn I miss the jetty. In Virginia now. You gonna be out there when the Bonito run through?
No, unfortunately I fractured my ankle a couple days after this video on the same exact jetty hahah so im out for a good month or two
When do they run there

Someone has got to invest in some surf fishing equipment, that trout rod isn’t gonna last
Yeah I had another rod with me I broke on the jetty that day, It actually made fighting these croakers a better experience ha
That looked like a fun time with a light set-up
