That is the most snow I have ever seen in the landing. My entire family hit it, women and children. As with skis just land on your butt and your good. No skill need with epic powder. No powder on a snowboard, it's for real son.
The drop is nothing once you make skis a part of your body, it's what the landing is that makes any drop significant, this run often has a horrible landing, lol
@@gbh5912 Absolutely agree with you. You can't tell from the videos but the landing is super poppy and flat. Guess that is why it is fun right. Hope you enjoyed the season. Oh wait it still going 😀
@staceymurray9644 I've never heard of the White Lady, and in fact didn't even know they skied there. I was blessed, I grew up in Vancouver, B.C., and I've been skiing Whistler Mountain since the second year it was open. 1968. To say I've witnessed some changes is an understatement.
Exactly! Tons of other different ways to have fun skiing, with a much lower probability of breaking your back, hip, legs, ankle and so on. Have to admit though, looks fun
If you are not enjoying the marathon is it life? You may be alive while progressing through the marathon but are you living? To enjoy the marathon NOW some people have to harm their bodies in the long run. It is unfortunate but to each their own.
Why is it that people now-a-days are never satisfied to pursue the simple achievements? Its the super dangerous life threatening that they go after? And sometimes not even when they see how some of their fellow friends loose their lives,p they'll have second thoughts, about putting their lives in danger and the same happening to them. Where's does their love for their family counts? they are so careless in staying alive and most importantly, being well to raise. the kids they brought into this world! I remember in the early seventies they have those really tall Toboggan at the entaietainement parks and I really want to go slidding down one and went! I was then a young single mother of a few months old baby! They had just thrown wax over it! Going down and up and then just hitting the top of the ups & downs I suddenly realized that i wasķ sliding down way to fast, what if I didn't stop at the end of the run?? I would hit the metal gate about 8 ft away at the entrance and no doubt bust my body against it at a very high speed! The realization at the moment that this fun thing could be very dangerous to my health and leave my daughter motherless hit me like a ton of bricks and there was nothing left to do but pray that it ends well and I could go back home to my baby safe and sound That was the moment in my life, that responsibility knocked at my door, and I promissed that I would never again put myself in a situation where my daughter run the risk of being motherless, since I was her only support! Exaggerated, looking back at what I was so fearful of, maybe, but the fear was so very real!
I can say this from experience. There is some advanced skill sticking the landing bc most people sit back too far when they are scared at first contact w the snow if they are scared or don't have the skills (yet). Makes the speed scrubbing first turns impossible, then it's "downhill from there" and tough to recover.
as I understand it, sometimes young children and their parents can get in safely, and other times even daring young people have their doubts and turn away that day.
You have the best chance if you land on your edges instead of a flat ski. This way you are already into your first control turn. A hip-check is even better.
"Three skiers were killed in an avalanche this morning when one of the group stood at the edge and banged on it with his ski pole. Also, today is national popsickle day."
I went once and we talked mad shit about how we were gonna do it. It ended up being closed the two days we were there and to be honest we were relieved. And our group were all very experienced and we all typically hit anything there is to offer at any location.
It’s inbounds and gets bombed regularly if avalanche conditions exist. It would be a huge fuckup on Jackson Hole ski patrol if corbets ever had a decent slide.
many break bones, fall into comas, trigger avalanches and endanger other people. and all voluntarily because of the kick. prefers to go to Africa and help poor people. at least that makes sense.🙏🤦♂️
Reminds me of an old Woody Woodpecker cartoon where there are a bunch of hooded something's lined up on the cliff and when it goes over they all put their arms up in Scream woo!!!
Never seen it from an angle like this danggg that things steep
Yeah, I could do that… ahh seeing from this angle, maybe not so much.
@@cbdoil4082 conditions heavily vary, and he’s going down the section for people with talent, not the part where you drop in from the side
I feel like if you look at how the people are standing, you’ll see the camera isn’t tilted to a deceptive degree.
I was about to comments the same thing lol this angle is wild
bro its a literal wall
Videos will never do justice as to how insane of a drop-in spot this truly is.

Gotta say this is one of the best justice to how something probably actually looks I’ve ever seen lol insane
Can you imagine how much speed he had to scrub off on the very steep run after he landed!

Finally a shot with perspective, that's gnarly. It looked a lot easier from the other side
Looks basically like dropping from a cornice ice sheet 😅
I'd have done it 10 years ago, but at 65, I finally realized life is a marathon, not a sprint.
Amazing I realised that also at 10 years old skiing in Scotland down the white lady

Funny realizing how nuts Corbets actually is after watching King's and Queens!!! Good job Bro!!
it looks gnarly from the other side...this angle makes it look borderline suicidal 😮
I always give the mountain a little smack with my poles so it knows who's boss before I drop into couloir too.
How's that workin' out for ya? 😎
Teach that mountain what a dirty lil slope it is!
They didn’t show where he crashes and tumbles at the bottom. Another video from a different angle shows it. Hope he’s okay.
Damn, my condolences, rip
That's a great angle of that straight drop! Hell yeah!
Back in the 1970's I lived for a while in Jackson and once in a while saw Phil and Steve Mahre ski this.
That thing actually looks way gnarly those season😮

Just let gravity do the work..lol..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
Gravity did all the work, the skier was along for the ride 😂

More pole whacking should work 😂
For a second, I thought part of the lip was going to go from under him 😅
Reminds me of Harrison Ford's line in 'Witness'. "Whacking. I'm hell at whacking"
Superb camera angle
That’s the way to do Corbet’s! Just follow the drop! 👍
This is Corniche in Mammoth. When I was 8.
Fookin gnarly bud
QUE VALIENTE !!
Thats the most snow ive seen that place have ever
Super jump
Crazy 😜👌🏻
Really cool

Fantastic....💯🔝
just realized how much the gopro effect really has when you see the run from a different angle.
Snowpack looks great! It's nice when it's not goat tracked by kooks

What the bunny hill felt like when we were kids…

I would CRY
Wie verrückt muss man sein😅
It's awesome! But why? If I were one of your loved ones, my heart would be squeezed to death watching this. Just take care.
Humans are simply the most impressive creatures (some)
Wow
BTW.... He doesn't make it 😂😂 bombs just out of the video and rolls all the rest of the way down
❤❤waaaoooo thats crasy😂😂😂😂
I don't know where that is but I watched guys drop in a hole steep like that on ice at Blackcomb. Insane.
Complimentiiiii ⛷️
That’s a true 33 ft/sec/sec drop right there.
No its not. Lol
@@inflation1139 No way really?! Lol indeed! But seriously I’m glad I inspired you to look it up and learn something. Cheers!
Granted it’s absolutely insane, but you just have to commit and stay over your skis.
