Texas Snowstorm February 2021

- From February 14th-19th, Texas endured a winter storm unlike anything we've seen in a very long time. In fact, it was the first time in over a century that all 254 counties in the state had been under a winter storm advisory.
During the storm, the power grid failed, leaving millions in the dark. Water pipes froze, and burst, damaging thousands of homes and businesses. I was rather lucky, in that I had no damage, but I did go without power for 62 hours, and then without water for a little over 2 days.
I shot all of this on third day that I was without power. Didn't have much juice in the batteries of my cameras but I made it work. Just now getting around to posting the clips.

Wow what a surprise!
Just skimming over the video. Didn't know you lived in Texas. Good to hear you are still alive.
I have TikTok and saw many videos of people losing their homes to the burst pipes and a number of people passed away in the cold.
I am more disgusted by how everyone mocked and insulted Texans for what was happening.
Thanks! Before this storm, most people here(and everywhere else) had no idea that Texas was on it's own power grid. The impacts of a rare weather event immediately became political. Fortunately, since I didn't have power, I wasn't able to spend much time on the internet that week. I missed out on the majority of tweets that said I deserved to freeze in my darkened home because of who the majority in my state voted for.
Wow. A winter wonderland. Is this near Plano?
Plano probably looked similar, but this was in the Mid-Cities HEB area.
HEB = Hurst, Euless, and Bedford. OK
