What an amazingly helpful video! I've been wanting to know how to do this for so long and wasted so much time watching other less informative videos. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial.
It's awesome seeing your entire workflow from MidJourney, Vectorize AI, MyDesigns, to Etsy... Another awesome video! 👏
Thank you Curtis!!
@@PhilipAnders Hello, I have a very important and simple question, can others see and use the pictures we created, because I see people's pictures?
I’m confused after so many videos …. After creating images in mid journey can I or can’t I upscale them and make them 300 dpi on my designs or not?
Congrats the new look of your work sapce 🎉
Thank you!! :)
always amazing tutorials! From start to finish, I can follow along. :)
One of the best Midjourney tutorials I've come across. Great job!
Wow, thanks! Glad it was helpful :)
Amazing tutorial! You just made this so much easier for me to get started. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
This was such a helpful and amazing video. Thank you so much, Philip! 🙏🏽
You're welcome I hope it helps🙂
Really great video. Thank you for sharing your workflow.
thank you so much!! PS I love the background lighting in your room
Yay! Thank you!
Thank you so much, I've been looking for a tool to automate the uploading of my designs and this is jus amazing!!! It looks like you've created a few tutorials for MyDesigns. I"m keen to use it for POD t-shirts with Printify, hopefully it can be done. Thanks again!
Yes that is possible as well ;) I have an older tutorial showing that process
Thank you so much for the video! I have been wanting to sell my AI digital files but the amount effort for each one is overwhelming. I will be starting today - love your videos!
did you start? how has it been going?
I have been using Midjourney for a while now and it is my favorite tool for editing.
What an amazing video thank you that was very helpful
Thank you I am glad you found it helpful :)
Thank you for a great tutorial. 😎Have a beautiful weekend. 🌞 ❤️
Thank you very much! Have a great weekend too :)
@@PhilipAnders Thank you so much. 🥰
woah, this is huge. I am so doing this for my shop
thank you so much for your time, Good tips
You're welcome! Thanks for watching :)
I want you to know you are the best on you tube, my HERO.
you are amazing, thank you so much
Thank you very much Phillip. One QQ: Whether the SVG files get automatically converted to PNG/EPS file types by MyDesigns?
Great video, really simple to follow. QQ - the delete function for the background doesn't work on all images, do you know why this is?
Thank you for your time and keep doing video prompts. It helps so much when I have less graphic design keyword knowledge but I like to design on my own cute products for sale like cute phonecase/ RGB mousepads :) hope you create video how to create phonecase AI mockup full tutorial.❤
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Hi Philip,
Thanks again for another interesting video, can we make the same vectors using creative fabrica spark ?
Best
Great video! What would you do if 1 listing contains say 25 different graphics?
thank you Philip u just asked my question
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you, Philip it is an amazing video! I have a question about txt file that will send to customers. Is this txt instruction file also prepared by MyDesign?
Yes, absolutely. It's now a PDF file since a recent update. It's automatically created
Hi
If I am selling png art files thst can be used for mugs, badges, clothes etc, what would be the best category, digital prints or clip art and images downloads?
Is it also possible to sell bundles with thisa app? Our would I still have to create the bundle listing pictures etc?
Do you always prefer to vectorize rather than upscale with something like gigapixels?
What situations, if any, would better suit a high quality upscale vs vectorizing?
Good question! for these types of cartoony textures vectorizing is ideal. It doesn't work very well for more detailed, photographic images. Also it's more important for digital downloads to offer a vector file. When you sell print on demand products a good upscale is typically enough ;)
@@PhilipAnders What about dpi? I'm looking to sell artistic files for others to use in print on demand. I'm seeing midjourney stuff at 96 dpi. If something needs printing at 300 dpi, what do you do?
This is a great video - I'm very glad I've watched it before starting selling my designs as clip art on Etsy 👍 A quick question though, I'm surprised the saved file didn't have a transparent background; is this normal?
Got me thinking about my other designs now for print, and whether they should have been vectors...
Thanks again 👍
Thank you!! Which saved file do you mean, the one from Midjourney?
@@PhilipAnders Sorry for the delay in replying, I meant the file that had been saved from Vectorizer.
Anyway, would you recommend the Vectorizer approach if I was putting designs on mugs? Printify will accept an SVG, and Canva can create an SVG from a transparent PNG, so perhaps that's the way I should go instead of PNGs... 🤔
How do you drag and drop images? Where are you dragging from?
Select them from your folder on the PC/laptop and drag them into MyDesigns ;)
The free vision won't let you publish them
onto your store You have to have the paid plan, They changed it
what size is your template in Adobe Illustrator?
A lot of people sell bundles of digital files like say 25 penguin designs, is there any easy way to do this with mydesigns?
I would love a video on setting up the .txt file and link to where a buyer downloads the files. And how you organize multiple file types for downloading. No one ever talks about this.
that's one of the benefits of using Mydesigns. All of this is done automatically if you follow these steps. You don't have to set up any .txt files or links ;)
It's also a PDF file we create now (not .txt) that the customer receives and opens to get the download link. It's all streamlined / automated as Philip stated.
oh nice that's a good update! When did you change that?
I really appreciate the information. Thank you.
Thankyouuu!!!
Is it random when uploading files to "MyDesigns Listing" if the background of the "listings mockup" is "transparrent light or dark?
I'm afraid I "messed up" removing the background since they're not all light/white like your video.
No, not random at all and nothing to worry about. Our algorithm detects the colors in the design and tries to display a proper transparent background for you making it easy to see your designs while you work on them.
Hi Philip, any advice on watercolours, I have watercolour designs that seem to lose the handpainted look once I have run them through vectoriser. Is it still better to do this in terms of print quality? thoughts?
I've noticed that as well with watercolor. Perhaps using an upscaler instead of vectorizer is more suitable for that style
Thanks, I will give that a go. 😊
Hi - do you have a video dedicated to personalised t-shirts sweatshirts using MYDESIGNS? Thanks
Not yet, just one about personalised Ornaments. But the process is pretty much the same :)
Can you use vectorize for digital mock-ups???? I need help creating high quality images and I still haven’t figured it out! When I post them on Etsy after I edit them on canva they are still a bit blurry or pixelated. I have be putting so much work into creating but haven’t gotten the high quality crisp images down 😢. I go on other sellers and their photos are beautiful and super crisp! What am I doing wrong please help 🙌🏼🙏🏼
You need to increase the DPI to 300 and upscale the size
Hi, Philip, I tried doing multiple prompts using the {} but MJ says the limit is 4. Has something changed, o do you have a different subscription level? I have the $10/mo. Thank you so much for all your valuable content!!
yes the limit goes up with subscription plans. I am using the $60 plan
Is there a way to do bulk uploading and listing if, for example you are uploading multiple different raccoon images? Is there a way to list it easily with the variable? Or would it need to be done one by one?
you could use this exact same method, just change the file names to for example "cute raccoon", "raccoon animal", "raccoon cute" etc etc. Add the odd keyword to make the file names and listings vary :)
@@PhilipAnders thank you so much for the quick response, I truly appreciate it and appreciate all you do. Thank you!
@philipanders so there’s no way to bulk upload into one listing as a big bundle?
@@CalvinSongveera you could upload a zip file to mydesigns and publish that through their site
@@PhilipAnders thanks for the reply! I saw on vectorizer you could convert the files into png, eps, and dxf files but when I do the file sizes are so large even when I zip all of them it goes over the 20mb limit. :( any suggestions?
What are images pixels and dpi required for print on demand. For example any patterns etc generated what should be the image quality. Thanks
you should aim for 300dpi or higher for the best printing results. Pixel dimensions depend on the product you're selling on. Shirts usually work with files around the 5000x4000 pixel mark
@Philip Anders thanks one more question. Once downloaded image from midjourney etc do I always need to upscale, vectorize and then convert to png for selling to etsy. I want to convert digital patters and sell them on etsy. So do I always need to follow these steps. Also should I upload svg or png to etsy. Thanks
I cant get rid of this error. Could you help please?
You must have at least one "Number" field for price and quantity in order to continue.
Add one through template editor.
You have to add a price and quantity field in your template settings for the collection. Or just load one of the saved templates which have those field pre-installed
i learn a lot of things of your channel, but the site mydesign i don't have any ideas as of now tryin to get learn something to it but i think its not free anymore😕
I've noticed that it's easier to make some parts of the image transparent on Illustrator before converting it to an SVG rather than after. Is there a reason you convert to an SVG and then upload to Illustrator? (I am a noob at Adobe Illustrator so maybe I am doing it wrong)
How do you remove the background in illustrator before converting?
@@PhilipAnders I was just using the method in this video ua-cam.com/video/BpswbHB4N0M/v-deo.html
ACTIVA LOS SUBTITULOS POR FAVOR..MUCHAS GRACIAS BELLO.
Thanks for the video!
If I connect printfull to Etsy, can I use MyDesigns just to get new layouts, and bulk import? Once the listings are on Etsy, will they still be connected to printfull or do I have to do it manually? I don't know how to link the products made by MyDesigns to Printfull to get the automatic orders. Thanks
Good question! To my knowledge MyDesigns is actually just about to release Printful as a production partner. Meaning you can do everything in MyDesigns in bulk and have your listings linked to Printful from the start. I think the process you were describing is quite time consuming (if it's even possible), so it might be best waiting for that MyDesigns update ;)
funny coincidence, they just sent out the email introducing the new printful integration ;) Some products are even cheaper through mydesigns compared to going directly through printful
@@PhilipAnders Great, so just check the shipping cost as well as the delivery time, I live in France. Mydesign and therefore a new partner of Production en Pod officially ?
Is it wise to sell anything you can make with a.i. right now ?! The store could get closed at some point, right ?!
Is there a difference between running the image through vectorizer and upscaling it?
Vectorizer is turning it into a true vector graphic, so yes - huge difference as you can scale true vectors to ANY resolution without them pixelating/losing quality. If you create a vector graphic, you don't need to worry about running it through an upscaler as it will scale up to any size you like on it's own.
There's gotta be a way to bulk upload to a vectorizer, even if its a paid one! If not I hope someone is working on it now!
But there is a export to svg option within Photopea, isn’t that the same as in Illustrator?
you're right it does seem to be able to import and export svg files. I assumed that's not possible as Photoshop doesn't let you do that. I am struggling to properly edit and tidy up a vector in Photopea, but yes you can export as svg
@@PhilipAnders I mainly create in Canva, export to PNG, edit and upscale to 300dpi with Photopea and convert to SVG, EPS and DXF with Vectorizer. But I think I’ll change DXF to PDF for selling.
Hei, great video! Is there any way to use this for packs? Thank you in advance!
Mydesigns isn't optimised for bundles yet, but I believe they'll work on that in future. You can still put a lot of files into a zip file, create some mockups yourself and create the listing individually😉
@@PhilipAnders that is logical. Thank you for taking the time for answering. Btw I almost binged watched you channel. 👍
Can mydesigns be used if a listing has multiple images?
do you mean like a couples matching shirt?
verry good tutorial less the last step publish only with paied plan.
they just changed the recently after I published the video
Thank you for this very useful tutorial (as usual with you :)) However you have not addressed the downloading part of the design... How do your customers download your digital files on Etsy, you mentionned a text file but how do you do it what is your process for generating those text files, if any ? Thx😊
MyDesigns does it all automatically, nothing needs to be done from your side ;) They've updated it to pdf files as well now instead of txt
@@PhilipAnders thank you 👌
Whats the point of vectoring?
Doesnt Etsy ban those who create with AI?
Is it necessary to upscale to 300dpi or will 72 be enough and why?
300dpi is the ideal as it insures good printing quality, 72dpi enough for use on screens but not for crisp printing
@@PhilipAnders thank you!
Can I use also Leonardo Ai? Is it the same quality as Midjourney? Can you make a tutorial on that as well?
yes you can!
@@PhilipAnders great! How I can apply the same process for Sweatshirt and hoodies? Do you have a tutorial on that?
@@26agica I do have a tutorial for that but it's a bit older so the interface looks different. I will make an updated one in the future 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/wBVuzZ-2VHM/v-deo.html
How do I get to the midjourney bot?
u get the private chat once you have a $10 subscription
What if you're selling a bundle of different images in one listing?
Good question! That is easier to do manually in my opinion as mydesigns isn't optimised for that yet. You can uploads zip files but the mockups might be an issue with bundles
Hi Philip, a great video. However, MyDesign now doesn't allow publishing digital products to Etsy using the free plan. I reached out to them but they now require me to buy a paid plan. After spending a good portion of time going through the workflow, it seems now I have to do it all by hand or pay up. A cheaper plan with numbers limited per day would be a much better way to go. It's very hard for new players to get a toe into online selling etc. But hey, your videos are great and I enjoy watching them.
Hey Phil,
We've been making changes to our plans, ect. I've been considering a cheaper "lite" plan that would give you access to digital publishing, ect.
What if i want a design in 10 options?
And 10 design every in 10 options are 100 images? Is that posible?
If I understand your question, you're wanting a design as 10 different product options (t-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, ect.)?
If so, yes - you can do that with our multi-product publishing feature, but we have a cap on how many products you can select for 1 listing, on the Pro Plan, it's up to 6 products per listing.
@@CurtisBlackmore for example an animal in 10 different positions and every image as mockup created by me and the zip file that include the original files.
What size and dpi is your illustrator file?
vector file , dpi? every.
illustrator files don't have a dpi and the size is not really important due to the scalable nature of vectors ;)
And what is the reason you include a pdf version and not include a dxf version?
I am not 100% sure if these sorts of graphics work well in a dxf format, so I'd rather leave it out than offer a useless file
My original comment vanished *sigh* is it Monday? :p inkscape is wonderful for editing vectors. Not been great for creating vectors from images like this so I am glad I heard about vectorize a day or so ago. - Heidi
Oh nice is the vector editing aspect of inkscape free? Lmk if it works in combination with vectorizer😊
@@PhilipAnders Yes Inkscape is completely free and I have been using it for simple vectors - 1 to 3 colors - creation for years. I also use it to trace my son's drawings manually for best results before adding color to them. The auto is quicker but always comes out looking sloppy/unprofessional.
I have tried to vectorise artwork like this with Inkscape but even though I set the amount of colors really high it always dulls them and I don't like that. The vectorize website didn't do that. I know I could go back in inkscape and fix the colors but that would be a lot of extra work/time.
- Heidi
And yes I have been able to open vectorize svg files and edit them with Inkscape.
Nice thank you for letting me know! Didn't know you could do that for free
@@PhilipAnders Inkscape is amazing and great for so many things from creation to coloring etc. I have not updated to the new version yet though. it's still free but I am used to this layout and I just don't like updating things in general. :P Always seems to be some kind of issue when I do. 😆
Is it okey to sell mid journey graphics ? Do you have the license ?
yes if you're subscribed to midjourney you can
Vectorizer Ai actually distorces completely the colours... why?
Love your videos - thanks!!
EDIT- happily my comment is completely wrong!!! Thanks so much for letting me know!
(Unfortunately MYDesigns has greatly reduced what you can do on the free account - no mockups or bulk editing - just the template. Cheapest is £30 a month **** wrong!!!!).
I have a separate free account for testing. Both bulk editing + templates still work on that account. Their pricing page also still states that up to 24 bulk processes and mockups are included. Are you sure you've tried it correctly? If it's not working at all their support might be able to help ;)
@@PhilipAnders You are completely right! I'm so sorry! I missed the vital step of selecting any of the listings first (face palm emoji). It would be great if we were able to upload our own mockup with the place to insert design (like a smart object) - eg for wall art I couldn't see a 16 x 9 (frame TV) proportioned mock up. The mock ups are fabulous - but its amazing capability for me is the possibility of placing the design in bulk. Tried to record the actions in photoshop but I couldn't get it to cycle through the designs and save each file - like MYDesigns does brilliantly. Thank you so much again - you're fabulous!
@@bipbop7905 MyDesigns is way ahead of you, that option does exist ;) You can import PSD files of your choice and create them in bulk. However this is not part of the free plans unfortunately. I made a tutorial about it a few weeks ago ua-cam.com/video/g-2RYESkhSw/v-deo.html
@PhilipAnders Way way WAY ahead of me- as are you - of course! I"ve obviously spent too long editing today- brain meltdown- because I knew this - as I had even watched your video! Double face palm! sorry and thanks again!!!!
@@bipbop7905 No worries, you're welcome :)
Awesome video! Unfortunately etsy always suspend my account.
that is very common with new accounts. If you put in an appeal you should get the account back in 1-2 weeks
@@PhilipAnders got it! Thanks for replying.
That is because you are opening store randomly, not a store that will be your brand and business. If you open store with everything that they require as per Etsy guidelines you will not get suspension.
Thank you for the video. I realize that to be efficient, we are obliged to have several subscriptions on several tools, Midjourney, Mydesigns, Illustrator, luminar, Kittl, Everbee or Sale samurai, it's a lot per month. How to be efficient using maximum 50$ per month subscription to use artificial intelligence, mockups, keyword and competition tools, scaling? Thanks
you don't have to subscribe to all of these tools, it totally depends on what and where you're selling. And your skillset plays into it as well. If you can create good designs with illustrator itself then maybe other designs tools/ midjourney aren't necessary for example. If you want to do research on Etsy maybe start out with free methods and only if you see no success at all try out a paid research tool
@@PhilipAnders Thank you for your answer. I would like to start on Etsy in wall art, but I need to validate the niche first, and then I would like to offer designs with AI.
midjourney isn’t free for a while
Why would anyone want free version, you can only generate 20 images, and you can't use those commercially. 10$ is cheap and only 200 images. Yesterday I generated 1000 images with MJ. Daily I get 400-800. 30-60$ is very cheap. People just have to work to promote and sell the images they generate. That's the hard part.
victorizer is only good for black and white images. colors one turn aweful
I'm not anti-AI, but this is just ugh. Artists on Etsy already are scraping by for a living, and now you're just going to flood the marketplaces with an automated workflow requiring zero creativity or talent, choking out the current economy without thought 🔥
Yes this is true but majority of these ventures sell nothing. I regularly buy from artist on Etsy and if anything they can start charging more. People will still pay to support. Think of it like fast fashion like or fast food, to handmade, crafted or organic. I can spot ai generated a mile away. Yet to be fooled by a deepfake 😊
This is bullshit. They want me to subscribe in order to publish digital.
Thanks, that's a great way to work.😍
