Hello Sir, your videos are a blessing. We have our ICT paper 3 exam tomorrow and I am terribly scared this year's exam might be as hard as last year's. God bless you, please pray for us
XOX OXO I live in Europe so idk how yours will be, anyway ours was quite good, nothing difficult in my opinion. Excel did not require any crazy formulas, just basic ones. Access and presentation were also fairly easy in my opinion. However, as I said, it might be completely different for your zone
thanks man, this paper wanted me to throw bricks at my computer so my friend sent me this and it helped a lot....though i don't understand why they gave something that is nowhere in the syllabus
29:59 they mentioned if they need piers ryt? but only having a single skinned wall doesnt lead to having a pier. i think u should have done another if function
Mr. Evans your videos are truly helpful, i just had a doubt at q 13 i think the formula should be =IF(B20="Yes",1+ROUNDUP(B7/1.2,0),0) rather than =IF(B20="Yes",2+int(B7/1.2),0), the later one does not fulfill the logic for all lengths, for instance for 2.4 we need 3 piers not four, i know my formula does not match the mark's scheme....please support and thank you
hello mister evans chickasa i have a doubt regarding the question where they ask to calculate the number of bricks we need to buy i think we are not supposed to use the FIELD which contains S,D cuz there are walls which are single skinned but don not require piers as they are shorter than 1.2 and lower than 0.725 as mentioned in question 12 correct me if i am wrong
I was about to cry since I need to submit this with a deadline and couldn't see any of your equations for the past hour cause the video had horrible quality.... completely forgot that you can increase quality from settings and don't have to see the video in 144p quality -_- Anyway Thank you for the life saving videos!! Really had no chance understanding anything without these
I think the formula is wrong 29:50 =ROUNDUP(IF(B20="Yes",(IF(B5="S",B22*B23,B22*B23*2)*1.1)+B23*B21,IF(B5="S",B22*B23,B22*B23*2)*1.1),0) please reply if I am wrong
no offense but, i think you did something incorrectly, in step 16. because the thickness might be s however other values might cause no piers to be needed. therefore, the formula you entered has something incorrect. i hope you can tell me if i am right or not
Hello sir, I have one doubt in the 13th question (data analysis section) If a wall is 6 metres long, as per the formula which you have entered it will require 7 piers - 6/1.2 + 2 = 5 + 2 = 7 But, if it is 6 metres long and requires piers at each end, (imagine a 6 metre scale) so it will require at 0 m mark, 1.2 m mark, 2.4 m mark, 3.6 m mark, 4.8 m mark and 6 m mark So it requires only 6 piers. You can try this with any other length exactly divisible by 1.2, always it will fit in the formula length/1.2 + '1' not 2 as when we divide by 1.2 we already include the pier needed at the end of the wall. The +2 formula will only work when the number is not exactly divisible by 1.2. So what should we do? Please think about this one and clear my query.
Knd of a late reply, but usiing the INT function you can only round the number to and integer with the other three you can select decimal places. Also, the ROUND function would follow mathematical rounding meaning that all number below 5 are rounded down( for example 1.33 would be rounded to 1 and not 2, given that decimal places were set to 0) and all numbers including and above 5 would be rounded up( for example 2.56 would be rounded to 3 and not 2, given that decimal places were set to 0) as for the ROUNDUP would round the number up no matter what would round a number up( for example even 1.33 would be rounded to 2, given that decimal places were set to 0), the opposte is true for the ROUNDDOWN function( for example eve 2.56 would be rounded to 2, given that decimal places were set to 0).
sir in this question 16 some single skined walls may have the width and height to be lower than the specified value to achieve a pier whereas your formula directly states it "YES" pier for all the single skinned walls, is there any mistake sir if no then please tell me where am i wrong????

At 14:18 , why is the command not ROUNDDOWN( ) but INT( ).
you can use rounddown too, it will give you the same answer

Excuse me, sir, but to add an extra 50% to a value we have to divide 50/100 and multiply it to that value?

I think the formula is wrong 29:50
=ROUNDUP(IF(B20="Yes",(IF(B5="S",B22*B23,B22*B23*2)*1.1)+B23*B21,IF(B5="S",B22*B23,B22*B23*2)*1.1),0)
please reply if I am wrong
Thanks, I got to a new formula which is =AND, since now I using =if and write long long formulas so thanks again
no offense but, i think you did something incorrectly, in step 16. because the thickness might be s however other values might cause no piers to be needed. therefore, the formula you entered has something incorrect. i hope you can tell me if i am right or not
Tarek Al Shareif was thinking same, I guess no one else noticed

Hello sir,
I have one doubt in the 13th question (data analysis section)
If a wall is 6 metres long, as per the formula which you have entered it will require 7 piers - 6/1.2 + 2
= 5 + 2
= 7
But, if it is 6 metres long and requires piers at each end, (imagine a 6 metre scale) so it will require at 0 m mark, 1.2 m mark, 2.4 m mark, 3.6 m mark, 4.8 m mark and 6 m mark
So it requires only 6 piers.
If I become rich one day I’m going to buy this men a house
Thanks a lot bruh.....Can't just explain how well has this helped me.....
Really appreciate it bro...
You are most welcome
Are ROUND and INT functions the same? What's the difference between ROUND, ROUNDUP, ROUNDDOWN and INT?
Got a paper in less then 3 hours. Gang
What you saying lol
why did we only choose S instead or D or s or d
sir in this question 16 some single skined walls may have the width and height to be lower than the specified value to achieve a pier whereas your formula directly states it "YES" pier for all the single skinned walls, is there any mistake sir if no then please tell me where am i wrong????
yesss i thought as much
Could'nt we've just used nested if instead of AND formula ?
Try to use it, you will get stuck with one criterion. It is worth experimenting, that's how we learn
