That poor little thing was absolutely terrified. But Bailey is such a big gentle sweetheart, the rabbit soon learned to relax a little. It may take a while though. Dogs are usually predators to rabbits, and all the rabbit wanted to do was flee and hide. I agree with others on here, it may be a good idea to get another bunny to keep him company.

My dog saw it and got really depressed because she thought we were replacing her with something younger and adorable. I gave the kitten away to a family friend and my dog was super happy to be the only animal

In general it's advised that when introducing a pet Rabbit to another non-Rabbit animal, you put up some barrier (like a cage) so the Rabbit doesn't feel exposed or vulnerable. Pets like Cats and Dogs can be unpredictable and may view the Rabbit as Prey, especially if they have easy access to the Rabbit. A cage allows for separation and security for the Rabbit while the two Pets get used to eachother's company and don't view eachother as Predator and Prey. Pets are tame but they are still animals, and still have those instincts, either to be Predators, or Prey. I'm very happy Sam and Bailey became so close and nothing bad happened on that first meeting.
