If you’re new to my channel, my name is Luke. I'm a peak Grand Champ 3 Rocket League coach. I’m also the founder and CEO at GrandChampBootcamp.com. It’s a coaching company.

I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most UA-camrs.
I don't want to take cheap brand partnerships, and I don't want to sell you some $50 course... although I'm sure I could make more money if I did push courses (and there's nothing wrong with people who go that route).

How I got here…
12 yrs old: Started uploading minecraft videos at / @luke23mc
16 yrs old: Switched to uploading Fortnite videos on this channel. You can go to my uploads sort oldest to newest to see all of my old Fortnite videos
18 yrs old: Switched from Fortnite to Rocket League videos during Covid. I also began coaching players 1-on-1 on / spookluke
19 yrs old: Rocket League went free to play and my channel blew up. To keep up with the demand, started the Grand Champ Roadmap --a rocket league course business
20 yrs old: Built the course while in College and created a coaching-community-course hybrid model. Eventually, drop out of school to pursue UA-cam and the company full-time.
21 yrs old: Switched from selling courses to coaching only. Rebranded as Grand Champ Bootcamp. Doubled coaching duration, lowered price.
22 yrs old: Peaked GC3 (top 20,000 players) while averaging less than an hour of Rocket League per day.
Today: Coaching is how we make our money - not youtube videos or courses.
To all the people trying, failing, and hustling to make their dreams come true, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. Don't let other people bring you down.

Weirdly enough wavedash kickoffs are very consistent for me despite knowing I shouldn't really wavedash on kickoff
Just frontflip. It is 2x quicker. Even driving is faster

Bruh there a so many "tips" that are outdated that were never true to begin with!
Nobody ever said, that powerslide is for freestylers, that the default binds are good, that 3v3 is the best mode for improving, that coaching is only for pros, that warm up's don't matter (like wtf), back post is just for low ranks or not to demo in ranked.

its only good if you need better rotations and game sense overall
I'm plat3 in standard. When will straight up driving to ball in kickoffs start to hinder my progress. Haven't happened yet. I would actually say that my kickoffs create way more goals to my team that we concede.
@@Irevoltnow I’d say when you get to diam you’re def gonna need to do some kind of flip (just a front flip or diagonal works). Although if you feel like you aren’t losing kickoffs because of it then just keep doing it I reckon
@@DatGuyArad Just remembered that I've played with Diamond 3's and it sometimes was problematic there.
I still see mfs in champ just driving at the ball. And I have to adapt to it. It's annoying, but can still be worked around.
@@rsmcroberts I'll strive to be that mfs then. Although I will never reach to champ. If ever even get to diamond solo queuing I'll be happy.
@@Irevoltnow Just ask yourself this question. Why do you play? Is it for fun? Are you dreaming of a pro career? Whatever the answer is, just set your expectations there and enjoy it. It's a game and should be enjoyed, unless it's a job, then it should probably still be enjoyed. Be that mf, and anyone who has a problem with it takes things too seriously.

im gonna add onto the 3s portion, if you're a player who like me has mostly mechanics and bad game sense 3s is the playlist for you. 2s is training both game sense and mechs and 1s are just mechanics

I definitely still use almost all default keybinds but I use air roll left and regular air roll and I’m about gc but you have to fat finger and I’ve always been playing like this so😅

But when I play ranked Gold 3 I get diamonds or even champs. That's the only reason why I'm hardstuck. I need some tips to go against these smurfs. Though I have a pretty decent defense
i learned speedflip in gold and im still losing kickoffs because im too fast.

@@LivingforEntertainement no not rlly u hit it o to their corner and now u have pressure up field hopefully ur faster than ur opponent and if not just fake and rotate back and if ur faster try pinching it to the wall into the middle and then rotate back either way as a gc2s there are sum that don't speed flip on kickoff and that's what I do Everytime if they too slow I either hit it to the side , slow my kick off to match theirs or kill the ball by using my stomach and then lastly what I just told u hitting it into the corner or to the side depending on how much slower they r

The air roll reducing knockback is scewed. When he got the knockback his nose was still up just a bit. As opposed to using the air roll his nose was pointed more towards the ball. A minor thing but it would change the result at the very least by a little. Not a 1-1 comparison.
Second, and im always at gold😭😭
Ranking up is overrated I'm diamond and I still feel terrible, there's just always players way better than you so you can't feel good at the game
worst is that if you join a game, it always appears bad people, like, there is diamonds that are worse than me, etc

Because selling absolute rubbish to adults that can make up their own mind is way easier to get away with than selling rubbish to kids who thought they were actually getting something for their time and money.

since i started playing i couldnt fat finger boost and jump. i remapped boost to R1, give it a try, if you dont like it change to something else.

r1 is air roll right but I only use are roll left on l1. so let's see. :) thanks!
@@paranormalbirdman i do speed flip to the left. While doing I just press the neutral air roll that is on L1, and it works. There is literally one and only video on my channel me hitting the speed flip, it was year ago, now I'm better.
