In my opinion Jinpachi was possessed by Azazel who was trying to escape from the temple he was trapped in but when Jin killed Jinpachi Azazel abandoned possession of his body and tried another plan to escape by revealing to Jin that filling the world with negative energy would give Azazel a physical form. Azazel thought he was manipulating Jin into helping him get free but what he didn't know was that Jin planned to kill both himself and Azazel to rid himself of the Devil Gene which is why Jin started the world war when he took control of the Mishima Zaibatsu in Tekken 6.

I believe that at some point, Ogre's blood that Heihachi has collected after Tekken 3 somehow made contact with part of the Devil Gene, fusing and mutating into an independent spiritual entity with elements of both (purple aura + fire attacks). The inferno form is a further mutation that became something new. Jinpachi made contact with this entity, who for some reason couldn't use Heihachi as a host, and was revived with it not unlike how Kazuya was resurrected. Ironically, what Jinpachi ended up becoming was what Heihachi was trying to achieve for himself.
Perhaps to me, it explains everything how Jinpachi was possessed by an evil spirit of vengence; I believe you made the right point of the truth of this misteryous accident, thanks to that bastard Jinpachi's son who betrayed his own father by lock and leave him drown in despair.
Akuma isn't evil, he uses the Shotokan fighting style and will only kill during a hard fight. Shotokan's fighting style risks the user to be influenced by the Satsui no Hado, as the style is built around it. Akuma has complete control over the Satsui no Hado however. Only those that practice the fighting style can be corrupted by it, it's not some sort of magic demon. It's a dark energy that Shotokan fight style uses. Ryu is a bit of an exception but the fighting style he uses is rooted to shotokan either way...so. Well whatever, your theory is stupid and is full of holes. Theories aren't meant to be made up out of pure thought. You need strong evidence that can be put into practice.
I cannot understand how this theory came about. Satsui no Hadou is not something you can force into someone, it's the byproduct of the combination of being an anasatsuken practitioner and the obsessive drive to master the art and be the greatest of all time. That's why Ryu is being tempted by it(same goals as Akuma) but Ken is completely fine(more concerned with normal life). This alone completely shatters the idea, but I'll continue anyway. Akuma has no interest in needlessly destroying everything and killing everyone he sees, however the what-if character ONI does. Oni is basically what Akuma would become if he surrendered himself completely to Satsui no Hadou, giving up what little humanity he had left that gave him an identity as a person(dedicating his life to mastering the art, seeking worthy opponents, etc). With that being said, even if it was possible to force someone to be possessed by Satsui no Hadou: as Oni he wouldn't give a fuck if Jinpachi lived or died, and if he wasn't Oni then he would revive him just to challenge him to a fight and kill him. I apologize theorists, it's just not possible.
Only one problem if Akuma had the capability to posses, he would have taken the powers from other fighters. Such as the fight between him and Ryu, he would have absorbed Ryu. Plus he cannot give Satsui no Hado, fighters are just faced with it similarly where devil gene affects the tekken universe. Plus, Akuma's only challenge is to fight until he cannot fight any more. The reason Akuma is in Tekken 7 is probably as part of his journey to be stronger and noticing a challenging opponent peaked his interest. This similar to how all his endings are related to he is the master of the fist.
Interestingly enough, Capcom USA initially claimed Akuma was possessed by a demon. Canon now indicates that the Satsui no Hado is the forbidden energy released by giving into the complete training Ken, Ryu, Gouki, and Gouken are progenitors of. It is clear that Jinpachi was possessed by something and could not withstand its control. However, at no time has Akuma sought to control someone else for his own purposes. If that were the case he would have tried to control Ryu a long time ago. Akuma only seeks an opponent worthy of his power. As such Jinpachi would have only caught the attention of Akuma if he were powerful enough to fight him. But Akuma does not have the ability to possess anyone; particularly if he himself is possessed (as evidence by the Oni).
Akuma has full control of the Satsui No Hado within him. And Akuma would never destroy the world. He is just there to find worthy opponents and defeat them and then find another one again and again.

He has the same "symptoms" of the carriers of the blood 1) change their personality when the blood is active, like Devil Jin thinking that he has control over the blood while Jin wants to get rid of it. This is a bad retcon, notice how Kazumi before T7 was never mentioned or even appeared in Tekken, except for very minor mentions. She was clearly not supposed to be the origin of the Devil blood, also what the hell is supposed to be the "curse of the Mishima bloodline" when the idiot Harada retconned because he wanted Heihachi to be a hero. Jinpachi did have the Devil blood.
But it has been stated that Akuma knew Kazumi before she was even married to Heiachi Mishima. Jinpachi WAY AFTER Heiachi and Kazumi was married and was killed around the same time maybe a little before Kazumi which means Akuma is older than someone in his 50s.
Akuma doesn't want to destroy mankind dude if you finish his story mode in usf4 he took a selfie with Elena. Akuma took in the satsui no hado also because he wanted to be stronger then his brother so he gave himself up to the power so he can be that much stronger. In Asuras Wrath the dlc where you fight Akuma/Oni he fights you because he is looking for someone to be really strong so he can have a good fight. I feel that in Tekken 7 were going to see maybe Akuma play the role of a good guy.

People here are saying that Akuma only has a minor role. But Tekken 7 is supposed to be the end of the Mishima saga. So they picked a heck of a time to introduce Akuma. I'm guessing that Akuma does play a big role and that Tekken 7 will change everything. I am wondering if Tekken 8 will have a completely new cast of characters.

I don't know if it's true or not, Akuma is just a special guest character from Street Fighter who has the Satsui no Hadou. And he wants to get the Devil Gene from Jin Kazama as Jin Kazama wants the Satsui no Hadou from Akuma and all the Devil Genes from the Mishimas and become the ultimate demon that is going to cause Armageddon and he wants to destroy everything. But when I look at Jinpachi, I don't really see no evil inside of him, he was just trapped by all that hate that Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, and Jin Kazama that made him suffer for so many years. He was an old friend of Master Wang Jinrei. If Jun and Asuka Kazama were to see him, Jun would feel like Jinpachi's trapped inside by evil because it was his own family that put this entire hate on him. And she, Asuka Kazama, Lei Wulong, and Wang Jinrei would free the evil demonic prowess and restore Jinpachi Mishima and but sadly, Jinpachi would just disappear and die by turning into sand. And Jun, Asuka, Lei, and Wang would put a memorial with a cross where Jinpachi Mishima died.

as i see/in my opinion, Demon/devil Jinpachi's fire shoot ( Tekken 5 ) is similar with Oni akuma's Gorai Gouhado in Ultra Street Fighter 4/Super Street Fighter 4 arcade edition.
There's a lot of holes in this theory unless you start to think that Akuma didn't posses Jinpachi but what Jinpachi actually has is the Satsui no Hado.. Edit: Satsui no Hado can't be passed. It's a forbidden technique that only one can see and learn...but not teach.

So without a world that can produce fighters for him then all his training all his power and all his life would've been for nought. Jinpachi wasn't supposed to be possessed by Akuma, or a generic ghost, but by Devil. This retcon was made in Twitter by Harada, that didn't have full control over T5 back then, only to T4 and T6. In the Japanese dialogue in Tekken 5 with Lei Wulong, Jinpachi says something very different than the subtitles. Bakemono wa, washi ni, toki wo etara, kyousha no tamashi wo motome, sekai wo horobose to meijita! The translation would be "The monster demanded me, when i got time, to seek out the souls of the strong and commanded the world to be destroyed." Instead of the "official" translation. "This thing tells me to destroy the world and eliminate anyone in the way" Does "seek the souls of the strong" ring a bell? Ogre, but Ogre has the same tattoo of Jin, who was branded by Devil at the start of Tekken 3. Ogre had the instinct to seek out the strongest warriors, kill them and take their strength. So Devil possessed Ogre, and the Devil fragment inside Ogre went into Jinpachi and took on his body when Ogre died. Tekken 5 was completely different than Tekken 4, it tried to correct the bullshit that T4 did and went back to its roots, a lot of characters came back, the "Devil gene" concept was toned down to the minimum, returning more to focus on Devil. Harada did it just like George Lucas with SW:Episode I TPM with the previous concept of magical energy to "superhero cells", from Devil possession to "Devil gene" ugh. After Star Wars: Episode I, when they realized how retarded the concept of midichlorians were, they were never mentioned again in the next titles. ken can't use the shakunetsu hadouken. and ryu can't use it either. ryu's ex hadoken does have some fire properties in sfiv but I remember in cvs2 he can use a hadouken with fire properties as well as in sf2 but that was not shakunetsu hadouken. pretty interesting theory though
I don't think that Akuma was behind the Devil Gene because in Tekken 6 Azruel was where the Devil Gene originated. And that kinda means Street Fighter x Tekken is canon and the Devil Gene actually entered the Misima bloodline when Kazumi married Heiachi.

I disagree the devil gene jinpachis demonic powers are totally different and unique to akuma's powers. jinpachi got his abilities from azazel somehow and was brought back to life. akuma probably has similar abilities but the orogins of were the power came from are different.
Akuma doesn’t just randomly possess people. The closest thing he does to that is try to force Ryu to give in to the Satsui no Hado, which Ryu is vulnerable to anyway. He would have no reason to change Jun into Unknown as his only links to the Tekken universe are Heihachi, Kazumi and Kazuya. Akuma isn’t involved with Jinpachi either, as they both have different goals. Akuma is out to kill Heihachi and Kazuya (and simply perfect his fighting) and the demon possessing Jinpachi wants to destroy the world and all of humanity, which Akuma has no interest in.

I believe that at some point, Ogre's blood that Heihachi has collected after Tekken 3 somehow made contact with part of the Devil Gene, fusing and mutating into an independent spiritual entity with elements of both (purple aura + fire attacks). The inferno form is a further mutation that became something new. Jinpachi made contact with this entity, who for some reason couldn't use Heihachi as a host, and was revived with it not unlike how Kazuya was resurrected. Ironically, what Jinpachi ended up becoming was what Heihachi was trying to achieve for himself.
Perhaps to me, it explains everything how Jinpachi was possessed by an evil spirit of vengence; I believe you made the right point of the truth of this misteryous accident, thanks to that bastard Jinpachi's son who betrayed his own father by lock and leave him drown in despair.
Akuma isn't evil, he uses the Shotokan fighting style and will only kill during a hard fight. Shotokan's fighting style risks the user to be influenced by the Satsui no Hado, as the style is built around it. Akuma has complete control over the Satsui no Hado however. Only those that practice the fighting style can be corrupted by it, it's not some sort of magic demon. It's a dark energy that Shotokan fight style uses. Ryu is a bit of an exception but the fighting style he uses is rooted to shotokan either way...so. Well whatever, your theory is stupid and is full of holes. Theories aren't meant to be made up out of pure thought. You need strong evidence that can be put into practice.
Ryu, Gouken, Akuma and Ken aren't shotokan fighters, they are Ansatsuken fighters
I cannot understand how this theory came about. Satsui no Hadou is not something you can force into someone, it's the byproduct of the combination of being an anasatsuken practitioner and the obsessive drive to master the art and be the greatest of all time. That's why Ryu is being tempted by it(same goals as Akuma) but Ken is completely fine(more concerned with normal life). This alone completely shatters the idea, but I'll continue anyway.
Akuma has no interest in needlessly destroying everything and killing everyone he sees, however the what-if character ONI does. Oni is basically what Akuma would become if he surrendered himself completely to Satsui no Hadou, giving up what little humanity he had left that gave him an identity as a person(dedicating his life to mastering the art, seeking worthy opponents, etc). With that being said, even if it was possible to force someone to be possessed by Satsui no Hadou: as Oni he wouldn't give a fuck if Jinpachi lived or died, and if he wasn't Oni then he would revive him just to challenge him to a fight and kill him.

Yup, why would akuma tell someone else to kill strong fighters, when he lives for that very reason.
Only one problem if Akuma had the capability to posses, he would have taken the powers from other fighters. Such as the fight between him and Ryu, he would have absorbed Ryu. Plus he cannot give Satsui no Hado, fighters are just faced with it similarly where devil gene affects the tekken universe. Plus, Akuma's only challenge is to fight until he cannot fight any more. The reason Akuma is in Tekken 7 is probably as part of his journey to be stronger and noticing a challenging opponent peaked his interest. This similar to how all his endings are related to he is the master of the fist.

Interestingly enough, Capcom USA initially claimed Akuma was possessed by a demon. Canon now indicates that the Satsui no Hado is the forbidden energy released by giving into the complete training Ken, Ryu, Gouki, and Gouken are progenitors of. It is clear that Jinpachi was possessed by something and could not withstand its control. However, at no time has Akuma sought to control someone else for his own purposes. If that were the case he would have tried to control Ryu a long time ago. Akuma only seeks an opponent worthy of his power. As such Jinpachi would have only caught the attention of Akuma if he were powerful enough to fight him. But Akuma does not have the ability to possess anyone; particularly if he himself is possessed (as evidence by the Oni).
He was simply possessed by the devil blood, and that alters the person losing its humanity, but it's the same guy.
Akuma has full control of the Satsui No Hado within him. And Akuma would never destroy the world. He is just there to find worthy opponents and defeat them and then find another one again and again.
Also in Tekken 7 when Akuma fights Kazuya in second round he said "So this is your true power"

1) change their personality when the blood is active, like Devil Jin thinking that he has control over the blood while Jin wants to get rid of it. Same thing happens to Kazuya in his T4-T5 ending Devil taking control of him.Same thing happens when Jinpachi is controlled by the blood and has few moments of sanity where he retains his original persona and in Paul's interlude where it's implied that it was"Devil Jinpachi" that resented people for him being imprisoned while they lived normally but Jinpachi's true desire was to finally die in peace

4)In his T5 ending the text says "Jinpachi's mind is consumed by the Devil"
5)He was revived when he "died", same thing happened to Jin and Kazuya.
6) when he sees Wang Jinrei he regains back control over his body and mind for a minute. Same thing happens in Kazuya in his T5 ending, his good side comes out and shows affection to Jinpachi but that doesn't last forever or Devil Jin seeing Asuka Kazama and Hwoarang weakens his demonic powers.

Akuma took in the satsui no hado also because he wanted to be stronger then his brother so he gave himself up to the power so he can be that much stronger. In Asuras Wrath the dlc where you fight Akuma/Oni he fights you because he is looking for someone to be really strong so he can have a good fight. I feel that in Tekken 7 were going to see maybe Akuma play the role of a good guy.

I don't know if it's true or not, Akuma is just a special guest character from Street Fighter who has the Satsui no Hadou. And he wants to get the Devil Gene from Jin Kazama as Jin Kazama wants the Satsui no Hadou from Akuma and all the Devil Genes from the Mishimas and become the ultimate demon that is going to cause Armageddon and he wants to destroy everything. But when I look at Jinpachi, I don't really see no evil inside of him, he was just trapped by all that hate that Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, and Jin Kazama that made him suffer for so many years. He was an old friend of Master Wang Jinrei. If Jun and Asuka Kazama were to see him, Jun would feel like Jinpachi's trapped inside by evil because it was his own family that put this entire hate on him. And she, Asuka Kazama, Lei Wulong, and Wang Jinrei would free the evil demonic prowess and restore Jinpachi Mishima and but sadly, Jinpachi would just disappear and die by turning into sand. And Jun, Asuka, Lei, and Wang would put a memorial with a cross where Jinpachi Mishima died.

Their are Different type of Demons In japanese mythology I want to make Clear. For example Onimusha series and Akumal have something In common They are Infact Oni's aka Ogre's. they come from the same factor, Far as the Devil Gene Goes aka Devil Factor it is different. The spirits can possess the person at any given time during the person's lifespan, even while still in their mother's womb or (apparently) just after death.

An entertaining theory but...Akuma would never destroy the world...he searches the world for worthy opponents who can truly put up a fight and push him beyond his inhuman limits to new hights...those are his prime motives. So without a world that can produce fighters for him then all his training all his power and all his life would've been for nought. This retcon was made in Twitter by Harada, that didn't have full control over T5 back then, only to T4 and T6.
In the Japanese dialogue in Tekken 5 with Lei Wulong, Jinpachi says something very different than the subtitles.
Bakemono wa, washi ni, toki wo etara, kyousha no tamashi wo motome, sekai wo horobose to meijita!
The translation would be
"The monster demanded me, when i got time, to seek out the souls of the strong and commanded the world to be destroyed."
Instead of the "official" translation.
"This thing tells me to destroy the world and eliminate anyone in the way"

Ogre, but Ogre has the same tattoo of Jin, who was branded by Devil at the start of Tekken 3.
Ogre had the instinct to seek out the strongest warriors, kill them and take their strength.
So Devil possessed Ogre, and the Devil fragment inside Ogre went into Jinpachi and took on his body when Ogre died.
Tekken 5 was completely different than Tekken 4, it tried to correct the bullshit that T4 did and went back to its roots, a lot of characters came back, the "Devil gene" concept was toned down to the minimum, returning more to focus on Devil.
Harada did it just like George Lucas with SW:Episode I TPM with the previous concept of magical energy to "superhero cells", from Devil possession to "Devil gene" ugh.
After Star Wars: Episode I, when they realized how retarded the concept of midichlorians were, they were never mentioned again in the next titles.
Only that Harada again went with the "Devil gene" BS in T6 and T7, ruining even more the Mishima backstory.
Take note that Devil Jin, when he takes Jinpachi's devil, he turns into Devil , just like Kazuya does in his T4 ending, both had Devil possession and the "Devil gene".

ken can't use the shakunetsu hadouken. and ryu can't use it either. ryu's ex hadoken does have some fire properties in sfiv but I remember in cvs2 he can use a hadouken with fire properties as well as in sf2 but that was not shakunetsu hadouken. pretty interesting theory though

I disagree the devil gene jinpachis demonic powers are totally different and unique to akuma's powers. jinpachi got his abilities from azazel somehow and was brought back to life. akuma probably has similar abilities but the orogins of were the power came from are different.

Akuma doesn’t just randomly possess people. The closest thing he does to that is try to force Ryu to give in to the Satsui no Hado, which Ryu is vulnerable to anyway. He would have no reason to change Jun into Unknown as his only links to the Tekken universe are Heihachi, Kazumi and Kazuya. Akuma isn’t involved with Jinpachi either, as they both have different goals. Akuma is out to kill Heihachi and Kazuya (and simply perfect his fighting) and the demon possessing Jinpachi wants to destroy the world and all of humanity, which Akuma has no interest in.
